My take on it is that with a three way tie, and two of them now confirmed villagers, the scenario's could be

 

Alf is a villager - Scum didn't need to do a thing. They could be anywhere on the board, voting or not.

 

Alf is scum - Scum need to either chance a teammate going out, or make it so he's not in the running.

 

 

Thinking about this/the logic of the bold more, 

 

If noone gets properly cleared if a Wolf dies; and

Everyone looks bad/phase is conceded if a Villager dies;

 

Then results are the same, except option A is better for Town.

 

 

If iyo nobody gets properly cleared/the phase is conceded either way

 

AND you really felt stronger about Alf, but were willing to vote LZM and he only looked better than Darthe by a hair, you shifting your vote when you did doesn't make sense/achieves nothing?

My morning brain is really struggling to follow this. 

 

Nothing is "properly clearing" of anyone except mod confirmation.  I'm speaking generally in terms of degrees, not in absolutes.  Mafia is a game played by individuals and they should be read as individuals.

 

That EoD was trash and EoD1 of last game was trash and town needs to get out of the habit of doing it that way.  I would much rather someone other than myself take a stance at EoD because I already know my alignment, but I'm still not going to sit back and wash my hands of the situation because most of the field doesn't want to play ball?  Darthe was completely null for me and I had reason to suspect LZM that was not remotely strong but still something.  Lynch the scummy people.

 

If that doesn't address what you're looking for ask me again when I'm not half asleep.

I can understand all of that, I'm just stating that a town person did for, you were the hammer on said town person, and it just as easily could be turned around and said that you switched from Alf to LZM or even Darthe id you went that route TO prevent his lynch because many didn't vote and anyone could have come in with a last minute vote to lynch him.

 

I will admit, your fighting me is making you look better. I do understand the logic you're speaking. Just giving my pov. I didn't expect to be able to talk this much tbh, so I wanted to at least get a list and some thoughts out before I had to go silent.

 

@Shanti, the bold argument only stands IF you think Alf is Scum?

 

 

Yesterday you had him null/not ringing any bells/needing more content - which could just have likely been avoiding giving a team-mate a Scum read.

Shad- 5 pages of content, started out a big rocky for me on page 1, we had a misunderstanding but it seemed to be cleared up alright enough by page 2.

Sorry if you've answered this, but what brought you to this sudden conclusion? You had one small interaction with BFG (from what I could tell in your ISO with lacking some quotes) and then suddenly, BFG is town.

Darthe- Only game I've played with him he was scum, and he was absent for most of the game leading up to his lynch. But iirc his posting leading up to all of that was similar (may be wrong and need to go back and check). AARN leaning scum just because I don't have enough to go on. Barely fills one page with posts thus far. Not liking content of posts either.

 

Shanti- town

 

Tigraine- I'm actually liking content so far. Remembering your last two games, you were hot and heavy on defenses and reads, like you were trying too hard to seem town...this time your reads and reasoning seem natural and innocent. Would like to see more from you but for now, and I can't believe I'm going to say this, I think you are town.

 

LedZepMan- Not really sitting right with me. Content seems...off. He lacks substance, and not only asked if hydra had their own chat (after he was previously in a game where it was mentioned, I was in said game) but then he also talked about no night talk being new to him, there was no night talk in that game either. I really need more but right now he is seeming extremely scummy to me.

 

DreadPirateRoberts- Not enough to really get a read, but GTH, I'd lean scum. BUT as it isn't really GTH, I'll go with null until I get more.

 

Adella- One of the first to give slight reads....for now seems pretty... Adellaish to me. Leaning town, need to see more.

 

CuthaNyn- Really kind of hitting a wrong button for me. Cuth could almost lean town for me, but seems extremely noncommittal, however put both iso together and read as one, comes off very scummy to me. *Shrug* I need to see more substance but I want to lean null right now. Only reason for that is Cuth's questioning peoples' reads and thoughts.

 

 

Alfred Jodocus- Not really ringing any alarms yet. But I need more content. So far just seems newb...maybe on purpose? null

 

 

Killanos- Coming off townie to me so far. Asking questions, elaborating, poking. Its a good look. Even if Kronos and the gut feeling towards me is wrong. I also disagree about being defensive in the quotes he made towards me. I was simply answering questions, but oh well. I'll say town for now. 

 

BFG- Your ISO made me raise a brow. You are asking alot of what others think of others, but you aren't really providing any reads, thoughts, or the like about players. You're basically just getting others' thoughts and not providing your own. Not a good look imo. I would like a read from you. Slight scum lean atm.

 

Cass- I actually read Cass as scum in my head quite a bit last game. I went back and forth alot. Actions and tone seem the same this game, so maybe that means town? Not sure. Cass confuses me and I have a hard time reading, so I will say null. But if it came down to it I AM leaning more town than anything.

 

dicetosser1- A couple of rapid beginning votes there, but nothing I really raised a brow at. However, content isn't really saying much. I need more, if I had to, I'd honestly lean scum. Will leave it at null for now.

 

 

 

Today you have him 3rd highest scum, moving him ahead of BFG and Dice (*and DPR) who you were leaning null-scummy on.

 

 

Why, for each of them?

 

Sort of what I was getting towards with

 

I guess generically bussing and then switch to a villager near EoD is a thing wolves do, but it doesn't really look into the nuts and bolts of the thing. I'd like to hear a more in context take on EoD from you once you can look back.

Basically I see a villager thinking "could be w/w" but it's a mutual dependency read and still requires a villager to think one of the two is scummy independently. Would be more weird if she had either of us above null prior but still requires further explanation.

@Shad it was Nyn talking about hot messes lol, I have kronos as town for general engagement. A little concerned by the content of his early post to Cass, but suspect that the timing of it is more significant than the content!

I'll have to dig up the post later, might have mixed up verbiage if you two expressed the same general thought (It occurred to me at the time that it was weird for you to use that expression at all ) but I'm pretty sure it was something you said that had me thinking down that line.  /shrug

I'm awake, and not hungover thankfully. About to get the Wi-Fi password to get on my laptop... but my first thoughts from what I could see, someone asked why I went from null to high up on my scum list, maybe this is a newb thing to think, but when Alf was switched from at the last minute and it was the only thing that 100% saved him, it made him look guilty by association, so putting him high upon my scum list would (I was hoping) get some kind of information from him, but alas he is still silent, and before I ISO, I can't remember if he fave a reason for his absence or not, which in my experience, looks scummy. It didn't seem scummy day 1 to me because I also have a habit of getting distracted or something happening and me not being able to play as planned, but his continued absence rings of avoidance.

 

Me saying the switch was to save him, goes hand in hand with the theory I was stating. Which was basically me thinking out loud.

 

Also, my fluff and banter is more me being more comfortable with the game and trying to enjoy myself more this round and not have another P + C occurrence. I got too into that gsme, and too serious and if you ISO me on that, I stopped having fun in that game and stated it very clearly.

 

I feel that styles and gameplay change with more experience, and after p + c I made sure to try to get a better understanding of this game so I wouldn't get so frustrated (didn't help as much as hoped as I'm still easily confused while playing). I am still not 100% used to the level of fluff people put forth from both alignments, it causes issues for me because from my first couple of games, it was a huge scum sign, which contributed to my initial scum reads of shad and a couple of others.

I routinely ask for links to games as a wolf because it's easy appearances and I don't have to more than 30 second skim them to have a baseline when I'm not actually concerned with alignments.  Cass is villageryish because she's Cassing, not going to worry about her at this point.

 

That being said DL is in just a little over 24 hours so more content from most of you would be quite nice.  My wtl is exactly not Cass or Shanti right now.

Initial mindmeld, but she started pretty peppy in Peg + Cat as well... Is extra pep a bad thing wrt Shanti specifically, for you?

If Shanti was peppy in peg+cat as town why were you suspicious of it this game?

I had forgot that she came in peppy last game. As I said in response to Cass, she had came in peppy at first but she seemed to fall off the pep train later on. I guess that was more clear in my mind than the pep.

Pretty much my point, the end game stands out more than D1. She was pretty peppy at first...I was mistaken.

It's a classic move that scum make when the "feel" they wanted to push isn't taken the way they wanted it to be. 

 

IMO, Town Shad would have looked at Dice as scum aiming for a mislynch and Scum Shad defends the comment made about him. 

 

Dice's exchange with sir alfred read awkward. I still don't quite get the exchange. But to be fairi read it loosely. So an eyebrow raise

 

Good point and a concern. It was a weird point for Dice to get that excited about. I've liked other play that I've seen, but his back and forth with Alfred will need to be explained.

 

@ Dice - Will you explain why you chose this point to be very active about? You posted about it more than anything else, so it's obviously important to you.

I have BFG and Cats as scum, with you in their matrix. You've got LZM & Darthe in your bottom 4, along with me and the new guy. This stinks worse than a gas-station bathroom that's never been cleaned. 

 

I would like to hear that as well. Me and Kronos are both a little confused why everyone is willing to lynch Alf. The only thing about him I found suspect is others pointing out his lack of activity after expressing excitement in the sign up thread.

 

Add me to that list. The only reason to push Alfred's lynch is to clear the board.

I noted that a previous post of yours was bad and this goes along with it. In short, you are using my meta to create distraction. IMO, Town BFG looks past an absent player and focuses on the play that inferences can be drawn from. You've chosen 2 posts about me to push the "trepidation", and that's just offering distraction to the game instead of townish game solving. 

 

 

Shad, can you point me to games where Nyn has been less engaged as a hydra? The one that come to my mind haven't displayed much difference from normal activity but I'm mostly thinking of whichever game she was hydra'd with Cory which isn't a fair baseline :p

Cass (and Nyn) gain the brownie points. Need to read Nyn's latest content more thoroughly, although superficially it looks ~good, prior to that 100% fluff/shark is a really bad look for Nyn. Suspect it's less the hydra and more RL, so I'm mostly going to be looking for what happens over her weekend <3

You've been wobbly all game. This looks like you distancing BFG. 

 

You do a lot of running commentary, instead of saying "I think this is town/scum because..." it's all very non-committal. In a game where everyone hunts for town out the gate, generally I have noticed it is more of a scum thing to just point stuff out without giving a town/scum vibe or going into more detail. Scum stay away from committing it anything too strongly, because then they can backtrack later, it's like leaving the back door open just in case.

 

 

This is logic that I find townish. 

 

I'll have more on my suspicions, of course, but I need to see some realtime game instead of all catchup.
