I think this Cory thing is stupid. We have no reason to believe he is in the game, it was advertised as a 13 or 16p game, which leads me to believe the Laughing Man was going to be in the game regardless of actual player numbers.

 

This argument about whether or not Cory is in the game, when we have no evidence in the actual game only in the signup thread, to support it smells of fear mongering to me.

Interesting.

 

The idea of speculating whether it was Cory in the game had nothing to do with Cory and everything to do with preparing to deal with whatever role TLM does actually play. Who the player is doesn't matter. That it might be a live player vs. a mod device does. 

 

So when Seph voted and then unvoted, it raised that question of it being a trap, especially if its a mod device. I pointed out the information about Cory because I find it a possibility that he might actually play that role - I've run games where I had players post as character before.

 

You calling it fear-mongering is weird... what is there to be afraid of? We know we have the character/player, so spec'ing on what it does seems like a good idea.

Knowing Cory he prolly said something that he later regretted. Hence the edit. Especially if following that he outed the game. I thought nothing of it. Still don't.

I think it might be worth clearing up this confusion.

 

Shad had listed Cory as "in". Then Cory (posts #50 & #51) said he was dropping out, but because (and I'm paraphrasing from memory here) he was helping a new friend, which I took to mean that he was going to hydra with someone. After that, Shad reversed his previous No Hydras in the game decision, and posted that players could do whatever they wanted. I'll go back to see if he edited that post as well...

 

It didn't really matter to me until people started randomly talking about him, which seemed odd since he wasn't in the game.

 

On reading, Zander's reference made sense in context. But Killa's mention has no context, making it look like she might have slipped in talking abut him like he's in the game.

 

Does it matter if he's The Laughing Man? Not really, other than for casing purposes in trying to figure the role out. 

 

Is it important if some players have an unseen relationship with TLM? Yep - especially in light of Shad mentioning that players might find themselves in a QT, which implies QT's other than mafia. 

 

At this point, I got:

 

dice - good call on my mistake, although he could have mentioned that it was Seph that brought up recruitment. dice, why didn't you?

Seph - He looks to be in resolving mode, which is good. I can get past the mention of recruitment given his response to it.

Zander - Tried to get teh violence going a little early, but I can see this as a reaction to past games. We'll see if it settles into resolving.

Killa - 3 posts so far. Drunk mentions Cory, raising some eyebrows.

 

No real standouts for the rest - it's gamestart mode and too early to call. 

 

If youre a Villager this game will go much smoother if we work together as opposed to each other imo.

I don´t say that your idea is wrong, and I think I wrote that I was town even before you brought it up. But in a game with uncertain mechanics it might not prove to be useful. I was wondering if that was something that you said just to look town, because we had already speculated about what the set up could be and know this isn´t a usual game. If you are town, and for some reasons wants people to state that they are town you should ask for it every new day to be sure. (Or as sure as one could be.)

 

 

What´s new? Some people suspect that Cory is the laughing man? I guess we will have to wait and see. 

 

I have a good feeling about DPR and Dice so far. DPR added something new and had to correct himself several times, which looks townie. Dice is more his usual self, the opposite of how he was in BFG´s game where he was mafia.

 

 

I find it weird your first thoughts are recruitment and to basically say me LD type question was not to be considered valid or useful.

 

That reads to me like someone who knows if someone where to check their I'm Town statement its gonna come back dirty imo.

 

 

 

Minute up. I thought the same thing as Niniel to be honest. It's an easy grab at street cred when a real LD would be silly to out themselves so early and put a target on themselves.

Last game she appeared to want to spend as little time as possible in the game thread. Already this game she's around more and hangs out for a bit. I think that's the main difference, real time interaction vs perpetual catchup mode.

 

 

We all know that I don´t like to be mafia. But in this case I was sick for days and only got the time and energy to start playing more at the time that I got lynched. I´m not much for real time interactions usually because then I don´t get things in perspective. That said, it was good that I was able to start the game this active yesterday. I´m feeling more into the game.

Killa play style this game is entirely different, and seems more bold? Which is a good thing, and I'm glad she is posting more just something IIA keeping a eye on. I liked Zander's questioning over her nyn read.

 

Zander I have her as town mainly over the ate post, and there was another I liked I believe though that's the only 1 that sticks out atm.

 

 

I get the laughing man is a good way to blend in, and I knew it before we talked about it. But it is going to be discussed everytime something happens that is weird itg. So if you don't like it as I told Lenlo, keep throwing out reads and content?

So far a few tentative town reads.

Zander reads town. He is crazy but well meaning.

Sooh is trying to figure it all out.Nyn gives off no flags. While I have not personally played with her I have read a few of her games others have used as reference. Plus the way she mods. Her posts seemed just like her normal self.

I wont be able to read Ed until he starts finally posting for real. I really think I can read him layer though so that will be helpful.

Even if you were after me I do think you are trying very hard to win this for the town team. That seems like you are with the town. I feel like mafia would not be so involved yet.

Dpr I can not read yet because I may have a wolf bias on him from last game. I need to get some impartial reads on him first and then I will let you know.

Thats all I have on the top of my head.

Ok tell me Zander why os that weird? In my first game people were posting games in the past and telling us to read this or that. Nyn was in some of these. She was also dead thread and we all got to read that after. So I am using what information I have overall learned about her to try and make the best guess I can on her alignment. Is that not what these iso posts are supposed to be about?

You have no baseline to give a read on her being normal as EITHER alignment.

One of the ones she was village in that others linked to was a lost themed game. She got shot night one but there was another with her town... I really do not have time to go dig through the other game and find the ones that were referenced. Thing is they were referenced to example players in that game. Nyn was not in our game but I read through the games the players posted links to. She was mafia in a final fantasy or some video game theme one. Like I said I am going off the top of my head because I went back and got overwhelmed trying to remember which past games where referenced on which pages.

 

The difference is actually pretty subtle. She comes in the same either way. But as mafia seems kinda hyper in her spam. Her posts were longer sometimes as mafia actually. I dont know 100% how to say what I mean here. I am not saying she cant be wolf . I just have not seen anything I disliked enough to want her lunched anytime soon.

 

Also what I meant by normal was her posts all over the rest of DM or the way she chats in skype. She has a personality yo.

 

 

 

What I meant is so far imo she is behaving naturally. That is all a meant to say. You a digging super deep here when I was just doing my best to make constructive posts. No I dont know everyone as well as you or other older players but I like to think I am making good inroads and getting there.

 

Also I am still developing how to navigate as town man. I dont know what I will do as a wolf. I have yet to rand as one. Hand to mod.

 

Now re reading anything I have posted is ugh... Its all meh. I need to go look at this thread more and follow my gut. Any time I have had some good moments so far is when I am following logic that started from a gut feeling about a player. I made the mistake the first game of not doing that. I wanted to lynch manbat day 1 and later let it go. He ended up being the last mafia alive.

 

I feel like I am rambling and not being super productive. Lol. So I am going to go to bed and start all over again tomorrow with a new read and hopefully find something worth saying to help town.

Shesh Zander one last thing is that the nyn read was meant as a surface D1 read. She has not even posted that much for how you are wanting reads to be. Now your messing my head up trying to explain nit picky details. I mean if I have no base line on anyone I dont know "well" then I might as well not play. Shesh Zander one last thing is that the nyn read was meant as a surface D1 read. She has not even posted that much for how you are wanting reads to be. Now your messing my head up trying to explain nit picky details. I mean if I have no base line on anyone I dont know "well" then I might as well not play. (Which is not going to happen) Like what else is everyone else doing when they read me? I dont even have much baseline to go off of yet. Y'all are making your best guess on me. I am making mine on all of you. So pointing out I have no baseline makes less sense to me the more I think about it. If I get lunched I hope you feel bad a little bit sad when I flip town you goofy goat...

One of the ones she was village in that others linked to was a lost themed game. She got shot night one but there was another with her town... I really do not have time to go dig through the other game and find the ones that were referenced. Thing is they were referenced to example players in that game. Nyn was not in our game but I read through the games the players posted links to. She was mafia in a final fantasy or some video game theme one. Like I said I am going off the top of my head because I went back and got overwhelmed trying to remember which past games where referenced on which pages.

 

The difference is actually pretty subtle. She comes in the same either way. But as mafia seems kinda hyper in her spam. Her posts were longer sometimes as mafia actually. I dont know 100% how to say what I mean here. I am not saying she cant be wolf . I just have not seen anything I disliked enough to want her lunched anytime soon.

 

Also what I meant by normal was her posts all over the rest of DM or the way she chats in skype. She has a personality yo.

 

 

 

What I meant is so far imo she is behaving naturally. That is all a meant to say. You a digging super deep here when I was just doing my best to make constructive posts. No I dont know everyone as well as you or other older players but I like to think I am making good inroads and getting there.

 

Also I am still developing how to navigate as town man. I dont know what I will do as a wolf. I have yet to rand as one. Hand to mod.

 

Now re reading anything I have posted is ugh... Its all meh. I need to go look at this thread more and follow my gut. Any time I have had some good moments so far is when I am following logic that started from a gut feeling about a player. I made the mistake the first game of not doing that. I wanted to lynch manbat day 1 and later let it go. He ended up being the last mafia alive.

its worth it to me...cause youre asking me to believe you read an entire past game you werent and remember how a player who was NOT in the game you playing played in another game you didnt play in.
