I think it might be worth clearing up this confusion.

 

Shad had listed Cory as "in". Then Cory (posts #50 & #51) said he was dropping out, but because (and I'm paraphrasing from memory here) he was helping a new friend, which I took to mean that he was going to hydra with someone. After that, Shad reversed his previous No Hydras in the game decision, and posted that players could do whatever they wanted. I'll go back to see if he edited that post as well...

 

It didn't really matter to me until people started randomly talking about him, which seemed odd since he wasn't in the game.

 

On reading, Zander's reference made sense in context. But Killa's mention has no context, making it look like she might have slipped in talking abut him like he's in the game.

 

Does it matter if he's The Laughing Man? Not really, other than for casing purposes in trying to figure the role out. 

 

Is it important if some players have an unseen relationship with TLM? Yep - especially in light of Shad mentioning that players might find themselves in a QT, which implies QT's other than mafia. 

 

At this point, I got:

 

dice - good call on my mistake, although he could have mentioned that it was Seph that brought up recruitment. dice, why didn't you?

Seph - He looks to be in resolving mode, which is good. I can get past the mention of recruitment given his response to it.

Zander - Tried to get teh violence going a little early, but I can see this as a reaction to past games. We'll see if it settles into resolving.

Killa - 3 posts so far. Drunk mentions Cory, raising some eyebrows.

 

No real standouts for the rest - it's gamestart mode and too early to call. 

 

If youre a Villager this game will go much smoother if we work together as opposed to each other imo.

 

So heres my D1 Olive Branch boo.

I don´t say that your idea is wrong, and I think I wrote that I was town even before you brought it up. But in a game with uncertain mechanics it might not prove to be useful. I was wondering if that was something that you said just to look town, because we had already speculated about what the set up could be and know this isn´t a usual game. If you are town, and for some reasons wants people to state that they are town you should ask for it every new day to be sure. (Or as sure as one could be.)

 

 

What´s new? Some people suspect that Cory is the laughing man? I guess we will have to wait and see. 

 

I have a good feeling about DPR and Dice so far. DPR added something new and had to correct himself several times, which looks townie. Dice is more his usual self, the opposite of how he was in BFG´s game where he was mafia.

 

 

I find it weird your first thoughts are recruitment and to basically say me LD type question was not to be considered valid or useful.

 

That reads to me like someone who knows if someone where to check their I'm Town statement its gonna come back dirty imo.

 

 

 

Minute up. I thought the same thing as Niniel to be honest. It's an easy grab at street cred when a real LD would be silly to out themselves so early and put a target on themselves.

 

 

Obv Zander would never out himself as a PR D1...thats never ever ever happened before...prolly.

 

My issue was Nini first thought being recruitment and basically trying to discredit my LD question.

 

Ofc you agree youve mentioned recruitment in like most games Ive played with you that has a setup that COULD poss allow for it.

 

It felt very strange and dismissive of Nini to jump right to that conclusion and as Ive mentioned felt like, at least to me like she knew if I was LD'ing her Id get  result that would condemn her.

 

Im not saying I think Nini is Scum for SURE but I didnt like the feel I got from her response.

So, does anyone else feel like this mystery laughing man is giving mafia an excellent way to blend in on D1? I mean, you can literally look like you're doing tons by just thinking of outlandish ideas for this npc, but in truth you're just searching for a distraction.

It just looks like people are talking about an actual aspect of the game while other folks drift into the game. Especially so early, what is there to distract from?

As we've gone to some lengths to point out, Seph was the first to bring it up. Your LD question did look like a cheap attempt at town cred.

I brought it up in Fight Club where it would have worked - fit the theme and all. I've pointed out why I don't think it's a factor in this game, to the degree that i can say that on D1.

Again, that was Seph and Niniel continued the conversation on that point. Either way, it was discussed by both. You might have based a read on her discussion of it - I'd buy that - but I'm having a hard time believing you really thought that a bogus LD play was going to produce results that would bag scum on D1. Please confirm that you were serious about this because I'm genuinely confused over this point.

Zander reads town. He is crazy but well meaning.

 

Sooh is trying to figure it all out.

 

Nyn gives off no flags. While I have not personally played with her I have read a few of her games others have used as reference. Plus the way she mods. Her posts seemed just like her normal self.

 

I wont be able to read Ed until he starts finally posting for real. I really think I can read him layer though so that will be helpful.

 

Even if you were after me I do think you are trying very hard to win this for the town team. That seems like you are with the town. I feel like mafia would not be so involved yet.

 

Dpr I can not read yet because I may have a wolf bias on him from last game. I need to get some impartial reads on him first and then I will let you know.

Ok tell me Zander why os that weird? In my first game people were posting games in the past and telling us to read this or that. Nyn was in some of these. She was also dead thread and we all got to read that after. So I am using what information I have overall learned about her to try and make the best guess I can on her alignment. Is that not what these iso posts are supposed to be about?

OoooKay, so in the sign-up thread, the "in" post I was remembering form Cory was #31, which is not an actual "in" so much as an acknowledgement of being listed as in the game.

 

Regardless, dude was signed up to play, then he dropped, then he edited his drop posts. So there's that.

I think this Cory thing is stupid. We have no reason to believe he is in the game, it was advertised as a 13 or 16p game, which leads me to believe the Laughing Man was going to be in the game regardless of actual player numbers.

Sorry I'm on mobile and not gang attempt to trim this. Zander she was commenting on my post about recruitment ftr.

 

I disagree with sooh as she did this in the beginning of last game as well.and it was when the game got going she had a hard time posting.

 

Now I think she is posting more freely, than last game and I don't think she is scum but I'm waiting until she digs into the game more, I have dpr around this as well. I think he sounds better and is most likely town but most of it is game spec which is something as mafia or town he could get into. I still think he is town though.

Ive claimed or hard breadcrumbed D1 in roughly 80% of games I've randed a PR.  lolme I suck at this game.

I'm not talking about seph tho, Im directly referring to Nini, whether or not seph mentioned recruitment first makes no difference in Nini thinking/believing/mentioning it tho and with it being D1 her discrediting the LD is kinda dumb.  For 1 unless she's IS the recruiter shed have no idea if there was one, on top of that even if there was its very likely only 1 and 1 poss person could be recruited with it being a 13er (well 14er I guess lol) imo. TLDR Even if there is one its still a very low probability the LD hits the person that was recruited in the world where theres actually a recruiter in this game  So looking at the BIG picture it seem more likely to me at least, like she wanted to discredit LD then actually thinking it would be ineffective to ask/use it on D1.  Did I explain it better this time?

Lenlo I agree with dpr that fear mongering is a weird way to phrase that. I get that it could be a distraction but only if we let it. Literally nothing was happening before we started speccing about it. If you want to move on why don't you give us some content and reads?

 

 

Killa play style this game is entirely different, and seems more bold? Which is a good thing, and I'm glad she is posting more just something IIA keeping a eye on. I liked Zander's questioning over her nyn read.

 

Zander I have her as town mainly over the ate post, and there was another I liked I believe though that's the only 1 that sticks out atm.

Sorry I'm on mobile and not gang attempt to trim this. Zander she was commenting on my post about recruitment ftr.

 

I disagree with sooh as she did this in the beginning of last game as well.and it was when the game got going she had a hard time posting.

 

Now I think she is posting more freely, than last game and I don't think she is scum but I'm waiting until she digs into the game more, I have dpr around this as well. I think he sounds better and is most likely town but most of it is game spec which is something as mafia or town he could get into. I still think he is town though.

Ya PC is not much of a reason D1 especially with there only being 3 posts in the diff.  She was def more timid last game but then again she was Scum and Town!Cory was in the game so obv thats a big factor.   Will admit tho Im not a big fan of Sooh's reasoning but that;s just my take.

 

Sooh is still a hard read for me tho Ive seen Town!Sooh look much better atp then she looks thus far.  That doesnt make her Scummy by any means atp shes pretty Null to me as of now.

 

DPR is an enigma to me, I thought for sure he was Scum in FC but he was Town and I didnt fully follow Kay's game but I thought he had both good moments and bad ones from what I recall.  I wish I had a better handle on how to read him.  I havent disliked him this far but thats about as muh commitment he's getting from me atp.

Im not the best seph reader by FAR but he's looking ok thus far minus the reaching (imo) on voting Killa over Cory comment.

 

That being said ive seen Vanilla Town!seph tell the Town to lynch himself over someone else d1 and get ml'd so keep in mind seph's gonna seph!!!

 

TLDR- Slight Town read on seph atp tho seph's a very good player when he's on and is quite capable of fooling some peeps especially D1.

Wanna try to formulate a read on you.  Im not a fan of some of your posts but I know some people play that way as Town so, with me not really having any meta on you I want to see your thought process to see where youre coming from please!!!
