If we vote the cop they have to out them-self which means automatic death at night and role check.  Then we greatly lower our chances of having a for certain scum lynch the next day.  We need the cop to read tonight to be certain of the right lynch.

 

Yes there is a chance the cop will be killed tonight, but we need to increase the chances of survival for the cop as much as possible so we can have that roll reveal.  Darthe sees that too.  It won't draw it out for another 72 hours because as soon as night is over we get the claim of cop, there might be some back and forth with the counter claim but it should be easy after that.

 

The only wrench is that the town cop read someone who is dead already or was jailhoused N1 and couldn't do their first read, or got bussed and miss read a scum/town N1.

 

But the odds of not getting a mislynch is so much higher if we wait until tomorrow.  And if we do mislynch, we are guaranteed success with lynching the other claimant the next day.

Its simply mechanically better. We dont have a clear sense of direction so, barring a cop kill with no peek itt, the mafia NK will help resolve a slot somewhere. At that point, there are less options and 5 alivie, which eventually puts us in F3, meaning we have a final lynch instead of the game ending on a NK.

If the cop dies tonight they were gonna die anyhow, and we will go in to tomorrow up a townie. Its not a bad gig, and taking a chance on a greedy benefit is more beneficial than taking it tomorrow with less benefit.

 

Besides, by removing a player today we increase the mafias chance of correctly hitting the cop.
