You're playing with players who you don't know some of, in a game where the mod runs things in a style that us older players are more familiar with, and you're stuck in a position where you try to figure out everything based on really limited information. You're doing a good job, and you came to the wrong conclusions for the right reasons. Aside from that, this is just one day and one Lynch we got a little bit of help to set us on the right path but it would have come one way or another so don't fret over that. You've got this and so do those around you, it's just that today has been a little shaky but that misdirection isn't sustainable for this wolfteam that is down a mafia on day one.

Besides, El could still be town and could be a Miller or Cronos could have redirected something. That's all entirely possible in which case DPR and I are wrong and off base.

that is true, but el already claimed his power. so could be a redirect etc, but i assume it was a target ability which rules out miller or something that can give a incorrect result? they can't have 2 powers unless like a joat or something correct?

If the targeted player is killed by a faction (such as the mafia), the Witness will instead learn the alignment of a randomly chosen player from that faction. If the target is killed by a Vigilante or a different killing type role acting alone, the Witness will learn the alignment of that player.

This is not what Eldrick described - I'm running out the door and don't have time to find Eldrick's post, but I quoted it enough - he said that he was in communication with the mod, before daybreak, and he had a choice to make. That doesn't jive at all with the role description above.

Ok. Had to wait for mod conformation about if I could even talk about it.

Last night, presumably at the beginning of night phase, I was to make a choice. I can't go into specifics because of mod communication and whatnot, but suffice to say I'm worried about the result of the choice.

Due to the obscure nature of the question, it feels like depending on what I picked, one of us will die. If there's a doc, and they have nothing better to do, I would like protection. I don't trust the outcome of this role, whatever it's doing.

If it's result is a kill, I would like to thwart it. It does not feel like a town ability.

This is Eldrick's claim.

How the hell does this match up to Kronos' "Witness" claim?

I have a meeting in 15 mins, so I'm out until after deadline. Please, somebody with a working brain look at this situation.

I read this as 'I have to make a choice but feel like I'm gonna die - save me' rather than 'I'm choosing who to kill and need protection'.

Is that the DPR problem/suggestion?

In a nutshell I thought the difference between ENFP/Dice vote was obvious, and that Eldrick misconstruing it was sus. I'll re-read him as an ISO and later in in Hackers where he was Town, but initial take was that it wasn't genuine confusion, and this (pushing what I read as derpy confusion) is something I associate as a strong feeling I got in the first game I read him playing in.

Why did you comment on other player's reactions to those questions? If you had alignment-related thoughts about them I don't see what they were - ie the post just feels like noting, with no conclusions - so the noting seems redundant.

He did it last game. She defended it as "Darthe being Darthe" and proceeded to defend him when people thought it was scummy.

I read this time as frustration/annoyance that he was doing it again. (She later agreed it was something akin to humor, not remembering the exact word, but it's about how I perceived it not her actual reason)

I read the post as genuine and so thought they weren't teammates again because of it. Good chance it's coming from town!Hally too.

Either it was a joke vote with no seriousness attached to it left in place on D1 because I'd barely been around or it was a joke vote that became more serious as the day progressed.

I really like this post but disagree with the first bold. My impression from two early games where he was wolf was that he picked more on little things and had more ?huhlogic? than in the recent Hackers game where he tunneled me for the wrong reasons but by the end of the day I could understand/mindmeld with most of his comments and he seemed to reconsider possibilities more often in general/without prompting. Haven't got the same impression here so far.
