My question do we have any DF plots that where not explicitely shown to be on screen? The only one I can think of being one is the rumors in Andor about the Dragon killing Morgase (and maybe Elayne)
Many. Off the top of my head, we don't know the particulars of how Taim was released, and then there's the issue of Liandrin's thirteen, some of which have been sent on unknown assignments by Moghedien.
Taim was explained on scene, some of the 13 we do not know what they have been about. But I am more interested in the potential plots that have effected the story immediately, like the Rand killed Morgase one effected what happened without it being traced back to them (concretely)

So. Elaine. I must say that Im a newcomer to the WoT series, currently reading ToM, at about 1/3 of it.
at the moment I have developed a really strong dislike for Elaine. A viewing saying her babies will be born healthy as an excuse to putting herself in danger. She doesnt care if when taking ridiculous risk she can endager several people - close friends and subjects included. So selfish. And not to mention that being maimed is still a posibility. it baffles me.
And most recently shes trying to tie the Kin to the crown. Free healing in Andor and Traveling for trade/resources. IIRC, the Kin ranks consists of what? 2 thousand woman? Why not instead propose "Kin embasys" over all the world? She only thinks about personal gain.
Sorry about the rant. My point is: Does it get better? As in becomes a better, selfless person?
actually though their based in Andor, they will likely be routed to Cairhein as well. My understand is that they will just be based in Andor, but still sending women everywhere like they did before.

u forget that Rand and Perrin had other thing to worry about.
ambition is based on making a better future.
Rand dont think he have any future -> hard to be ambitious when u believe u die in few weeks (and even then he tried to leave a Legacy/be remembered)
Perrin was fearing he will turn into a wolf -> hard to plan for the future when u dont know if u still be human tomarrow .
notice how Perrin accept lordhood and refused to give it up or to surrender TR autonamy (his rule) after he reached inner peace.
I understand they have concerns and believe they're fated for bleak futures, but I would say their lack of ambition is a personality trait that's regardless of those factors. They seemed perfectly content where they originally were before they knew anything about the dark path ahead. Compare that to Egwene/Mat/Nyn who sought greater things/adventure/position of power and who would certainly not be happy otherwise.
I think its more of Rand and Perrin being forced out of their home, and finding something terrible (from their viewpoints) about themselves, its like what Lanfear said about having greatness forced upon you, or you choosing it freely
-
Sammael had traveled Shaido to Illian and Ghealdan. But why Ghealdan? I don't think he knew Perrin was there. So what was his purpose?
to spread them about and cause the westlands to distrust/hate the Aiel even more. Which by extension would make them distrust Rand and less likely to join with him

I asked this in another thread but it got buried there so want to have another go at it.
Can the Heroes of the Horn be killed or harmed in any way when they are called by the Horn?
They can while they wait in TAR but a comment by Birgitte suggests that they might be invincible when called by the Horn.
As for Falme, the Horn had called us; we were not there as you were, in the flesh. That is why the Power could not touch us.--TSR, CH52
It would be beyond strange if they were in some kind of god mode when called by the Horn, yet that's what Birgitte's comment seems to imply.
I suspect this is not really addressed in the books but perhaps I'm missing something.
We've not seen any way that they can be harmed, but when you consider that they dwell in T'A'R' and can be harmed there (i.e. Moghedian > Birgitte, TAR wolves dying etc.). I think a more appropriate question is whether the shadow understands that the heroes must be found and killed in T'A'R'.
well it could be easily argued that Heroes cannot be found in TAR unless they break the prescripts

In Demandred's first PoV, he reaches Shayol Ghul wearing a fur-lined cloak at a time when all of Randland is suffering from an extended summer. Demandred has mastered the trick of ignoring the effect of the heat and cold. He isn't affected by the cold outside the Pit of Doom or the heat inside. So, the cloak seems to be part of his disguise. The question is: Where has this been discussed earlier? Thanks!
That's an interesting point. I had a thread a while back discussing Demandred's clothing as a possible clue to his location but his clothing in this particular POV was not discussed there. I can't really think of any place in Randlands he'd need a fur-lined cloak at that time. It could have been a fashion statement as he was apparently prone to those. The only other fur cloaks mentioned around that time are those worn by the Seanchan that Avi and Rand encounter on the other side of her gateway.
Lastly, I think the only person other than Demandred ever described as wearing a velvet fur-lined cloak is Elayne (tEoTW, ch 40).
it has been discussed. In the same paragraph it said that it is always bitter cold there, so it is most likely the simplist answer which is it is very cold as SG, and although he does not acknowledge the cold it still has physiological effects

I have a couple of questions that have come up when me and my RPG gaming group have been playing in the WoT setting.
Can a channeler draw a representation of a weave that it is possible for another channeler to understand? Both the illustrations in the comic books and the way the weaves are described at least to me indicate that this would be possible, though it would probably be very inadequate representations could a channeler learn a weave from a description or illustration of one instead of seeing the weave his or her self?
Could a severing weave miss and hit someone else? Okey the way Rand did it with those three Aes Sedai who held his shield that was rather directed to them, but normally when just a sharp shield is made, if two channelers is standing right next to one another and you are trying to sever one of them could you miss and hit the other one, or in other words is it dangerous to get to close to someone being severed?
Can Draghkar talk, we know they can sing, or rather hum, but can they speak normally? I know they are not that intelligent, but originally they where humans made into Shadowspawn so I was wondering if they also could be used to for example fly to a certain place and deliver a message and not just be used as assassins.
Do you mean could a channeler show another channeler the weave for something like healing or fireballs or a gateway? Sure, they do it all the time.
Draghkar can communicate, in EotW one was used as a scout to track the crew.
as for the weaves I think that you have it right. But I am more curious about making coloured air to show channellers of the opposite sex the weaves, what would happen if that happened? Would it be learnable, or a good way to destroy some channellers attempting it
-
when channellers bond each other, do they gain more endurance in terms of channelling? So would they be able to channel longer than they would without the bond?
-
What would happen in a Fain/Shadar Haran face off? Fain easily handles other fades, but SH is something special...
actually I find it interesting that Fain is the last well of dark SL power and and SH is a well of DO power so these twos interaction would be vital
-
did anyone ever ask what would happen if you went to Shadar Logoth in the Dream?
-
is Sulin still alive?
-
Did perrin ever tell faile about him being a wolfbrother.
yes, I believe it was in tSH originally, or at least thats when she learns about his super senses. if not then, then she learned it in ToM during their anniversary thing
-
Did Berelain and Rhuarc have some love thing going on with each other in Lord of Chaos?
no Rhuarc and Berelain kind of adopted each other, Amys even went as far as to give her the daughters kiss or whatever

Cadsuane helped to fix a problem. Lanfear created one in the first place. The two are rather dissimilar.Actually that was her greatest triumph. If it hadn't been here Rand would never have been pushed to reconcile his issues.
I don't think that's a valid argument for anything. That's like saying Lanfear is a hero for setting the dark one free so that Rand could seal him up again.
actually I think Cad did more to aggrivate the problem than to reconcile it.

The
So, he being trapped in another dimension breaks the bond (or whatever happens when an AS dies)? There's really no other explanation for it that I can see.
I think this is correct. It's seems the doorways are a connection between Rand Land and Finn Land. When the Rhuidean doorway melts, the connection is lost, and Lan's bond is broken.
As for Lan failing to go into a death rage, I believe that has more to do with the fact that his bond was transferred to Myrelle. He probably would have gone to Death Rage mode, except for the Myrelle transfer.
he kinda did anyways, he went into insane sword practice form

Actually the more likely reason was not the amount of Power drawn (far more saidin was used than saidar [an ant/mole hill next to a mountain]), or the strength of the channeler who used it (Nynaeve is cited as having sufficient strength, and the point you're referencing (Moghedien's comment) about the Choedan Kal being used at great strength for a long period of time is just as applicable to the male one--more so, because more Power was used). The most likely reason was the USE to which saidar was put.
Though really the simplest reason the female one didn't survive and the male one did was because the female one was still buried with only the sphere free while the male one was no longer buried. So the excess heat used while wielding that much power was able to dissipate for the male one and wasn't able to for the female one. So you ended up with Slag for that one.
The only part of the sa'angreal that seems to produce anything in the way of ambient energy was the sphere, which wasn't buried. Beyond that there is no evidence to suggest that the Choedan Kal produces heat as a by product.
I still maintain the simplest line of logic runs clearly to the only known stressor involved in the event--Rand trying to force saidar to mix with saidin.
he wasn't trying to mix them,in fact the reason he used saidar was because they wouldn't mix and saidar would remain safe
-
Good point. I'm actually not sure how the Female one was destroyed. How can something made to draw power in be destroyed by drawring power?I mean I understand how Rand destroyed his, he did it on purpose. But I always thought the Female one just destroyed the key. They I read closer and realized the actualy item was destroyed.
Nyneave. She was strong enough to use it, but apparently not strong enough to use it for the extent of time with she did without it "overheating". Not really sure why that would happen though. Afterall even the weakest channeller can use a angreal without it being destroyed. But then, the CK are sort of special. Their power levels are off the charts, so I suppose they're basically glass cannons. The "handle with extreme caution" type of equipement.
well we know they are unsafe to use without one of the access keys, so they must be a special kind of sa angreal

I haven't really gotten into GRRM yet, but you're telling me the good guys get their asses handed to them over and over? Or they are willing to do what it takes, regardless of morals, to beat evil? Because otherwise they're lucky as hell.
actually a main bad guy has not been truly identified yet, we have glimpses of things that are truly evil, but have not seen the controller. Its mostly been cairheinin politics, which is a reason I dislike the series somewhat, most of my favourite characters die in rather dishonourable ways
-
I know he went on record to state that in womens circles the power level isn't the sum total, I was wondering if this was different in mixed gender circles, or would the same rules apply where as woman A B C in a circle creates a power level != to A + B + C, but with saidin added in too so men A B C != A + B + C, then the two values added up or some such
-
if two woman linking cannot be straight added (strength wise). How does a man and woman linking effect power levels, would that be straight addition?
-
So it was literally just absent mindedly milling around when they tried to open the Waygate in the Stedding? XD
that's just silly
there is the possibility fain could have passed off his ability to sense rand, or the desire to chase the Taveren. It would also be helpful if we knew how vast Macha Chin was
-
Gah, Spoilers! :(
But that doesn't explain how The Black wind got from Cairhien to The Stedding in time to stop Rand. Was that just luck?
time and distance are different, it is easily possible

You have to remember, Aiel take their security very seriously. It's not very likely Shadowspawn would've made it through into one of their keeps, but even if some did, we were told several times that even Aiel children know how to defend themselves. If push came to shove, I'm sure they'd have made good use of their belt knives.
beat me too it. I am rereading the fires of heaven and rand looks at a blacksmith and thinks to himself that he held it as if he could use it. And blacksmiths have a position as high as (I would say arguably higher) than a WO, so I think the WO's have the means to protect themselves without channelling. They are not milk hearted wetlander women (I love it when Avi references the wetlander women as weak in such funny ways)

Your point about his lack of control early on is well taken, though. Even in Far Madding, he apparently had to kill Rand physically while Rand was caught in the vision, so that does raise a question as to the effectiveness of the trap from TGH.
Well, his illusion of Torval and Gedwyn was not really a trap—just a distraction, which Rand didn't buy because he had seen the bodies in the attic.
I wonder if this means that Fain was the one who sent the trollocs through the ways while masquerading as whoever.

yes on what we can speculate as DF work, without us actually knowing 100% it was DF's. I am just wanting examples of this for some reason
