  1. A few questions. What happened to Thom and I know I've tried to purge the last episode of Season 2 from my memory but what happened to Mat's dagger? Finally does anyone else find it odd Mat was allowed to keep the horn and so casually walk about with it. Moiriane allowed that? It took someone that long to tell Mat to stop it?
  2. LOL I took Leane's pause was becuase Galad was introduced right before him and the whole he's so handsome thing. I agree with the liking the actress but having no respect for the Siuan character, I mean Egwene simply saying thanks for the ring, I lied about staying in the tower and I'm going anyway totally ruined any respect for the Siuan character.
  3. For me it's more of killing that many people tends to draw notice for people who are trying to lay low, if you're there to look for something it just seems like trying to cover up 40 murders might not be the smartest thing. Not to mention it was clearly a nod to GOT.
  4. Sort of why I felt they should've had Semirhage be the one to make grey men since seems like torture to the individual, which would've fit her. Just doesn't seem like Moghi's thing.
  5. I do wonder if people who haven't read the books understand the episode and the flashbacks, like the folks who decided to head south instead, and the two continuing on the journey. There really wasn't a whole lot of explanation as to why that split was a key moment. Would non book readers have a clue that was the creation of the Tinkers? I am curious why the change to give Moraine the powerful female device.
  6. Sort of how I felt, it was a good episode but something about left me feeling unsatisfied. Glad a whole episode was devoted to it. I think a huge miss was not showing the Aiel handing over the sapling and explaining what the debt they had was. After Moiraine mentioning the cutting down, I think seeing what caused the debt would have been a must see. As others mentioned, seeing all of the spears left by those who never returned was a pretty nice visual.
  7. They haven't when the Aes Sedai died the warder would basically go into a suicide rage, unless their bond is set to pass to someone else upon the Aes Sedai's death. in the series it seems more of a slow they lose the will to live. You would basically have to make a weave for each person in the room, and plant it in their head.
  8. I try not to think about that, the same way it's best not to think about how no one seems to care Aiel are wandering the streets of Tar Valon.
  9. I wouldn't call her tragic since she pretty much willingly brought this all on herself. Even at the end her reason for wanting the DO dead was simply to be free of her punishment and take his place. She simply wants power and greatness. Even her love of LTT was described as with possessiveness and jealousy that was near to madness.
  10. I think the Companion explains two main reasons why she pushed them so hard. It even said in the Companion that when she was in Andor she would often visit the tower while they were in training and check up on their progress. They were novices under Elaida when she was raised accepted, There is this mentality of if they mess up it looks bad on her, Since they potential equal to hers, she thought they had an obligation to live up to it. Which also meant living up to her standards in almost everything.
  11. Lan says Aiel don't get tattoos. Where did Melindra get her giant back tat? Anyone else notice the servant who seemed to be slowly doing her job towards the end when Liandrin was asking about the male A'dam? I think in the book doing a mass room compulsion wouldn't be possible, for the show I'm guessing anything is possible seeing how they have changed stuff like healing and warder rage after his Aes Sedai dies. Which is why it's easier to just have the forsaken be some noble etc who just suddenly appeared. No need to worry about false memories on a lot of people. You figure he doesn't need to use compulsion on the whole room. Most of those Aes Sedai in there probably have never seen him before, might never have even heard of him, and probably haven't left the tower in years. So not much need to worry about them.
  12. Alanna is green, since their job is to be ready for the last battle you would hope they are decent in a fight. I think the fight would've been more believable had she stepped out and attacked, instead of the need to speak. They were after all BA so really would be smart to just attack instead of stepping out and announcing yourself. Ik now some have said the BA should be better in a fight, which isn't really true. Most of the time when the BA kills its sneaky when they target isn't ready. We saw from the books the forsaken isn't willingly to teach them special weaves unless they have to.
  13. I think in one of the episodes it was said a month has passed.
  14. Season 3 so far is the best season. Still some head scratching moments and a few grrr issues. But they are using the time a lot better and the casting is good, a few of the really heavy accents are a bit distracting. I do think Min is being wasted but I loved her vision of Mat.
  15. Morgase at the beginning, Felt way too Game of Thrones for me. Egwene openly defying the Siuan seemed really odd. So much for tower structure and respect. ALso Moraines hat is horrible.
  16. You might feel say the arrow hitting your suldam but all you would feel is the pain of the arrow not the effect of the arrow. I imagine the adam would lose its effectiveness if in a battle if you could lose a Sul'dam and a damane to just one arrow, falling off a horse etc or a simple accident. I would be curious as to what the damane might feel or experience if the sul'dam was hit by balefire.
  17. Because being forced to be good is actually evil. How would be deprived of the ability to make a choice be a good thing, people would simply be slaves with no choices or free will. So, the pattern gives people a choice and doesn't force a choice on you.
  18. My biggest fear still is all the material that has to be covered in just eight episodes. Just not sure how they can do it all justice. All the stuff Rand alone needs to do could fill the eight episodes.
  19. With an 8 episode series and so much they need to cover if this season will combine book 3 and 4. I just don't think there is a lot of time to introduce doorways etc. Sadly a lot will need to be cut to fit into eight hours, They made Mat a hero of the horn plus dagger exposure could easily be used to explain his memories. Honestly is Tear even needed?
  20. You should read the Origins of the Wheel of Time. It talks about all the influences, mythology, religion, world events etc... he researched and studied to come up with the Wheel of Time and the people in the Wheel of Time. How he came up with names and such.
  21. Free Will was Jordan's main theme. Everything Mat does or doesn't do isn't carved in stone beforehand. It would make him a puppet. But being ta'vern he has less free will than others, the pattern will occasionally yank him back on path. Rand could've said forget this and refused to leave Two Rivers. It's also my understanding Min doesn't see like 10 years down the road. Seems like everything she sees is more of a near future sort of thing.
  22. I would say a good example was Stephen King successfully suing to prevent his name being used for the Lawnmower man movie, saying it bore no resemblance to the book.
  23. The Companion described the Yellow's healing, before Nynaeve's revelations, as just a form of rough-and-ready, battlefield first aid from the War of Shadow, The skill of the healer was more important over the strength of the healer. But under the healing section of the companion it goes to list 4 types of healing from full/everything healed (not even a scar remained, and the only way known to heal a wound from a Myrddraal's blade) It took considerable amount of energy from the one being healed. But also mentions some possible severe drawbacks which made its use rare on serious wounds. 2. Slow healing over time 3. Alleviation of pain 4. Washing away fatigue. We know Rand's mom died if the Fever, so illnesses and epidemics happen. There probably aren't many yellows skilled enough to do a full healing and the companion says the number of yellows prior to the last battle was 120 members. My guess is even if some of this stuff can be healed that the chances of a healer finding you is pretty small. If there is major outbreak they would probably go to help but overall you are probably screwed if you take ill. You would probably have to be delved to find any illness in the early stages and it would take too much time.
  24. The Big White Book said Yellow sisters are wholly devoted to healing sickness and injury as well as finding new cures and new methods of using the One Power to restore health, though in truth, few believe any better method exists than the one known since the breaking. I'm not sure if it's ever said what they are capable of but there is really no desire to find better ways. Part of the reason is the risk of experimenting with new weaves, so most Aes Sedai aren't willing to risk burning themselves out to find a better way. I know things such as growing a limb back isn't possible.
  25. I always took the alternate worlds thing to be a fail-safe device, if the DO wins in this world wouldn't it mean he lost on another world? It seems like the creator made things so all of creation everywhere wouldn't end.
