I don't mind Valda dying, because in the book I don't think he does to much except become head of the white cloaks and assault Elayne's mom. I think it's probably for the best they ended him now.

Force ghost might be a bit much. We just saw them bring in Ishy for a cameo in season 3, I don't think it would be too big of a jump to think there might be Moraine cameos. Either dream world or people like Lan remembering things.
-
Season 2 showed they don't want to be without Rosamund Pike for too long, I can't see them going too long without her or bringing her back in some way in dreams etc. Unless maybe she had another commitment, They added stuff in season 2 for her so I just can't see her having a long absence.

I think Lord of Chaos is when Dem first appeared talking to the DO in the beginning and end.
-
If Samm takes Asmo's arc then my guess the last forsaken in Demandred. No need for Asmo and the other forsaken didn't do much in the books. Dem is the last main baddie not accounted for,

I think the biggest difference is in the books gleeman are flashy and full of themselves, here they look like commoners and Thom is more low key. Thom would perform on a stage and not in the middle of a crowd. I don't mind the character or change but at the moment it just doesn't feel like Thom.

Well stabbing doesn't seem to be fatal, seems like the only way you can't be healed is to have rocks fall on you.

He also just recovered from being stabbed, so he might decide a little protection couldn't hurt. In the book even Mat realized a little armor might not be such a bad thing. But the book really doesn't go into if Perin ever puts on a few pieces before going into a fight. -
A weak way for Perin and Faile to bond over tragedy and left a lot of questions. Mom killed Faile's brother and Faile fled, so what happened to mom? It was just a weak way for Perin to transition in he understood and his killing his wife. Even though Perin did plant an axe in his wife, so not sure it's totally equal.

Could saving Mat break Nyn's block? I'm guessing it will be her since Mat is with them.

The interesting thing is since there has been no caravan into the waste how they plan to hide/disguise Samm as his teacher. Lanfear did say something to Moiraine about sending Rand a surprise and let Rand deal with it, so I think she meant for Rand to capture Samm. It would seem odd for them to off Samm so fast,

Seems like next week is a going to be a heavy two rivers episode. -
Ohh I forgot about the moghi scene. Yeah it made no sense her wanting them to forget then leaves a scratch and takes the bracelet as if they wouldn't notice either.
-
I didnt mind Ishy being free, but him appearing to Lilandra really made no sense. At the time she was a nobody so it will always seem odd his appearing to her. Why do the battle scenes always have to be so dark?

A nice improvement from last week. I liked most of the episode and good to see Thom and Fain back. Also nice to be shown that the BA think they're so powerful but just how little they mean to the forsaken. But they are really playing fast and loose with healing. The other thing I disliked was Ishy finding Liandrian? Why would a forsaken suddenly be there for some young girl? I love the Ishy actor but that to me is another pointless addition. Not to mention I think once again they stole Rand's arc with once again someone running to his aid as he is about to fight a Forsaken. I liked what Rand did at the end but did he really need to be saved to have a good Rand vs Evil fight?

Will be interesting to see how she will die considering she has the most powerful object for a woman. In theory she would be able to blast Lanfear without blinking an eye, which is why I'm curious what their plan for her is. -
I'm trying to find an exact quote but it basically I think it came down to Samm was responsible of the deaths of tens of thousands of people, countless atrocities, and such so it's fitting that such a vile person who sought greatness dies in such a blahh un not very heroic death. From what I could find the quote was something along the lines of: Yes, I know it wasn't with trumpets and fanfare [referring to Sammael's death]; but he deserved it. He was a louse, and he got a louse's death. He was killed by an enemy he wasn't paying attention to. He lived like a louse, and he died like a louse."

Wheel of Time Season 3 - Full Season Discussion

Best seasonso far but I have to say I'm worried about the final episode of the season. IMO the worst episodes of season 1 and 2 were the last episodes. I hope they don't get all crazy like they have in the past. -
The funny thing is so many people hate how Samm died, and RJ responded with Samm was horrible person and didn't deserve a better death, which I find rather interesting,

Not to mention COVID can't be blamed on the horrible, linked super Egewne healing at the end of the last episode of Season 1.
-
There is nothing saying why RJ changed his mind, it might've been because so many guessed it but it could also be RJ saw this would cause issues later. If Demandred is Taim who is going to be in Shara?

Rand's 3 GF's are explained in the Origins of the Wheel of Time. "The Three women of the story will be perceived not only as the three who took Arthur to Avalon, but also as the origin of the triple Goddess personified as Maiden, Nymph, and Hag. " So it wasn't something RJ just tossed in but more of the myths and legends he was using to build the story,

Didn't I claim I was for some of the changes? Claiming people who have a negative view is ignorant of storytelling is actually a pretty ignorant statement. There is good storytelling, bad story telling, and lazy storytelling. Just because they think it serves a purpose doesn't mean it was needed or worked. I mean the way they portrayed Mat''s dagger at the end of season 2 was a good change? The whole Alanna being saved at the end was pretty lazy and predictable. Min's drawing her visions seemed a lazy way for Mat to find out. I mean never before have we seen a drawing of her vision and now there is a room full of them and what just happens to be on the floor by Mat? Call it what you want but some of these changes just seemed tossed in without a lot of thought.
-
For instance the whole Alanna/warder break wasn't needed then have him show up. I don't mind some of the changes, the burning at the stake seemed like something a questioner would do, The spears around Rhudiean and the bodies in the columns I thought really brought home how dangerous it is and how many fail. Simply there are changes that seemed like they were just tossed in to have change, which doesn't add a whole lot. How is the whole Alanna warder thing better? Seemed tossed in just for a pretty weak out of the blue rescue which wasn't needed.

The weakest episode of the season. It sort of went back to inconsistences that has plagued the show. Issues regarding stabbing, power jumps, Egwene has to be the super learn so fast, and tossing in changes just to have change. I don't mind changes, but they seem to really be pushing the series down the darker path. I do hope the last three episodes are better than this one.
