  1. Celestine listened to him carefully--or tried to--as he mouthed something, and all she picked up on was the first part of the sentence. Of course she would only Delve him, what else would she do? Even men who can channel are afraid of Aes Sedai when they have no reason to be anymore. The Yellow put on a friendly, small smile, though it faded as he explained he had issues. That she very carefully listened to.

Celestine stood to move her chair closer to him, across from him, and she sat down again and arranged her skirts. "Just so you know," she said, tapping her ear, "I'm a bit hard of hearing, so you'll have to not speak so quietly." She embraced saidar and slowly reached up, "I have to physically touch you, okay?" Her fingers were gentle on his temple, and her look became concentrated as she began to weave a Delving.

  2. Jagen turned away, and as she did so she dryly joked, "If one day I'm walking in the garden and see chora trees growing, I'll know you rediscovered how the Aes Sedai of old did that." She paused at her own words. Aes Sedai then covered both men and women. She shook her head. "Good day, Elin."

She walked through the garden and back into the tower, drawing her shawl up. Working together in the One Power with men. Saidin and saidar. The world is changing, but how many of us are ready? Elin, at least, seemed so. What of Jagen, herself? Shaking her head, she veered off to the kitchens to ask for her meal to be brought to her room.

  3. Celestine only nodded as he spoke, that he had no answers--no, she supposed that only the upper ranks of their Black Tower would know those answers. And the White Tower, of course. She took a bit of soup in her spoon, blew at it to cool it, and sipped. She certainly agreed with him on fear of the Asha'man; she had just been thinking of that herself.

"I'm sure that's not all your questions, why else come home with the crazy Asha'man you just met." Nox was grinning again. She was beginning to wonder he he grinned so much. Was he hiding something? But what could be be hiding? Or did he grin so much because he was mad? Or was he trying to impress her?

She let her spoon sit on the rim of the bowl. "It is the 'crazy' part that interests me." She paused, "And... saidin, I suppose." She titled her head slightly and studied him. "Healing involves both body and mind, and I have much to learn yet. But..." Celestine shifted in her seat before stopping herself. "Do you mind if I Delve you? It won't do anything, and you won't really feel anything, but I may be able to..." she cleared her throat lightly, "see something... there." She almost grinned herself; the possibility of being one of the first--perhaps the first--to Delve a man who could channel would be a great opportunity indeed.  She could not recall of women in the past did it with False Dragons, but if they had, she had yet to hear about it. The only thing the Tower ever taught novices was that once gentled, the men died soon after no matter what other efforts were taken. That would imply the Yellows had tried, but Celestine didn't care for implications; she needed to know first hand.

  4. I have also tagged people and they're not getting the notification, either. I also think this is one of the coolest new features.

Also, I don't know if this is a problem per say, but we used to be able to turn off our signature if we didn't want it showing up in a post; now we can only turn it on or off for all posts at the same time. I really enjoyed being able to use it in some posts and not others (very useful for RP).

And lately, whenever I receive a notification pop up at the bottom of the screen, I see the white text that says "You have a new notification", but the rest is all black (black text on black background) so I cannot see what it is. I don't remember this occurring before (the problem), but it does it now.

  5. Celestine fell in beside Nox and walked quietly. There were questions she wanted to ask, but there was no way to ask them in public, where anyone overhearing may react in quite a negative fashion. She had heard rumors, or perhaps they were more than rumors, that Asha'man had visited the White Tower, to work with the Red Ajah. It struck her as mind boggling. Reds working with men who could channel! Still, greater Tar Valon did not know, and it needed to stay that way. People were suspicious enough of Aes Sedai; they'd be much worse with the Asha'man, taint gone or no.

Celestine felt a bit of surprise when she realized they were headed for the town across the bridge; she had not intended to leave the city. She decided, once they were halfway across, to tuck her fringed shawl away, but she kept her ring on. Still silent, letting her thoughts take in all the information she could while thinking of how to approach some of her own questions, she took note of the house they were approaching. Fenced, unlike the others. It looked new, but then, none of the houses here were very old. Many had been destroyed in the Aiel War. Yet the town persevered.

Still, the house looked very new. And nice. She saw other men along the walls, and hesitated. They must be Asha'man too. Light, how many are there, right outside our walls?

She still held her tongue, and realized the gap between her and Nox grew. She didn't want to feel exposes out here, but she kept her walk steady. One inside and to the kitchen, she sat herself at a nearby table.

"Water is fine," she answered, watching him very carefully. "And yes, food would be well. I will not take too much, though." Not warily, per say, but she didn't want to look away from him for too long, either. She heard a man's laughter elsewhere, then another. Perhaps the ones they had passed coming in. Her lips tightened; she could well imagine what they were joking about.

"Does the Amyrlin know you are here? She must, I would think. What about the Reds? Is this where you... stay, in your agreement with them?"

  6. Jagen gave a nod. "I do not see any problem with that, if you have sisters on both sides of you. Yes, that is a good idea, I think." She took up one of the biscuits on the tray and ate it, then nodded again. "There will be quite a bit of change in our quarters, very soon, yes?" The Sitter smiled bitterly.

Jagen then adjusted her skirts and made to stand. "I think I should be off for now, Elin, but it was good to talk to you. Feel free to contact friends of yours on our upcoming mission."

  7. Jagen tilted her head slightly, wondered if Elin misunderstood her. "What I mean by the rumors is this. The Asha'man, they will be coming here, but how many stay in our quarters, that will be up to them and the sisters they are bonded to; thus if you hear anyone speaking of the matter, you can tell them exactly what is going on." She sniffed. "I had one sister ask me if the men would be required to sleep in the sister's own quarters. No, that is not the case," she said firmly. "They will get their own rooms, if they are Warders, just like other Warders."

She took in a breath, enjoying the cool air. "It is imperative every Red understand what is going on, and even those outside our Ajah. The visiting Asha'man will be under our watchful eyes if he is no Warder, but I think none will be wandering our halls who is not bonded already. This way, when sisters see a man in a Black coat, and know him for what he is, they will not be alarmed. Sisters who have been gone out of the Tower even for a year will be surprised at these changes, though I think few did not return when called back."

Jagen was referring to the revelation of Bonwhin's journal and the box ter'angreal. Still, sisters who departed immediately after might not understand the changes that followed that revelation and the cleansing of saidin.

  8. Celestine's eyebrows rose. For a few moments she said nothing, and she was studying him. Tainted by saidin indeed. "But saidin is clean. Is it not?" she asked. "So you're not tainted. I don't suppose that's a lie, though, if..." She frowned and blushed and looked around again. Perhaps she shouldn't be keeping him, but neither suddenly did she want him to disappear.

"May I... accompany you? To wherever you are going to eat?"

  9. Celestine's eyes widened, and she even took a step back. Before she knew it, she was embracing saidar, and drew as much as she dared, but what she could have wove in that moment, she had no idea. She looked around quickly at the crowd, but none seemed to have noticed except her.

She straightened herself after a moment and regained her composure, but her mouth was tight and her hands gripped her shawl. And Celestine still held onto the source. "So. You're an Ash--one of them. Well." Her voice was cool.

The irony struck her that she was trying to hide herself at first, and here he was, doing the same. An Asha'man. She'd never seen one before, and now she regarded him warily. "Why did you really come to Tar Valon?"

  10. Jagen finished her tea and set the cup down on the small table. "They are allowed to come here. We have a designated area in the gardens now, set up just for them. Not too long ago, I took one to the library, in an effort to get to know him." She paused, thinking of Aslan. "He liked books."

Shaking her head, she went on, "For a place, we have designated rooms in our own quarters for them. Can you imagine," she said, sighing, "having men who can channel in the Red Ajah quarters? The sisters who came before us, they could never have imagined such an outcome. Ah, yes, and some still do not know--but this has just occurred. Nonetheless, if you hear rumors, you can not confirm them."

  11. Celestine sighed softly. "I will work on a solution," she said after a moment's pause, watching him. "It will need the Tower's approval, but I do not see them not approving something that will help children."

She casually opened her scrip and pulled out both her ring and shawl, putting them on. The shawl had long, yellow fringe. "I suppose I should say good da--" She stopped then, blinking. "Wait, you have a home close by?" She shook her head, "No, you don't have to tell me, it is fine. I'm sure you call any place to eat home, right? In any case, I hope you fare well, Nox."

  12. I realize a much simpler solution is sitting in front of me. Final proposed correction on the WT Timeline:

    Quote

825 NE - Kathana Travelear is Raised to the Stole. Many Keepers. (Brown) - 161 Year Reign

    • Change Kathana's beginning date of reign to 825; this explains the 'many Keepers' part, and sisters who are in that cusp of the first Age Bracket (90-210 ~ rounded to 175 years ago) were still raised under her as Amyrlin. Plus, this gives our famous Kathana a nice long, deserved reign
    • Second, get rid of the all of the lines "Sisters in ___ Age Bracket were raised under ___". It causes confusion and doesn't add up to the other dates for other Amyrlins.

This also doesn't add or take any Amyrlins away from the official timeline, it just shortens Parenia's reign. :)

the missing frame from old dm that listed the five newest created threads makes it even more difficult to keep up with what's going on,

You don't see off to the side, the newest threads with posts? I see it. Though my main screen isn't narrow, either. (I'm using Firefox browser, as I'm guessing that might be causing the difference)
