  1. Okie dokie 🙂

Firstly, I quite liked the fallout show but It's not a fair comparison.

It doesn't even follow a storyline from any of the games, though it pays a heck tone of homage to the games and world building.

It's basically a unique story in the world of Fallout, with some extra backstory from the before times.

Like if they made a WoT show from the end of the AoL.

  2. Yeah, I reckon Moraine and Lanfears face off will be the end of season 3. I'm guessing it'll be in Rhuidean though.

I'm basing this off a group interview with Raff and the main cast, not long after season 1 was released I think..

Raff tells a story about how even some of the production crew are really into the show, and he let it slip a certain someone will be killed in season 3, noting how shocked they were.

Firstly, I can't think of anyone in season 1 or even 2 that would be shocking to "kill" off. Maybe Suian but still.. (see below)

Secondly, I noticed Rosamund had an odd reaction to the story. Everyone else smiled along, nodded and laughed. Like anyone else listening to their boss tell a crazy story.

Pike though.. she practically blankly stared into the camera the whole time, barely a phantom eye twitch.

I do think they'll bring the reveal forward though, have her "dead for 2 seasons than show her alive as a season ending with her nightmare leaching thingy and bring her back at the end of season 7..

    If it last that long...

Well, it is only speculation, but Moggie in her entrance, is scary. Moghedien in the books is not, she is one of the least impressive Chosen and more or less looked down on by the others. I'd say it also makes sense, they have moved from 13 to 8 Chosen, and Semirhage apart from being the scariest actually is a pretty flat character, really only having a back story about being a sadistic mental health therapist and being the one that scares the other Chosen, rather than intimidates due to strength in the power. Moghedien if I remember rightly does not really have much of a back story, not anything that stands out anyway.

Moghedien would never attack Lanfear and then let her off with a warning. She would have struck from the Shadows and killed her or remained hidden (in my humble opinion based on the book's character). But show Moghedien was showing off hugely and was telling Lanfear off like a naughty little girl and Lanfear was terrified. So by combining Semirhage's cruelty, terrifyingness and her back story, with Moghedien's MO of hiding in the Shadows and actual role in the story, it seems like an amalgamation that could capture the essence of both characters, and would make Moggie's appearance at the end of season 2 make much more sense in terms of character.

Of course they could have just upped her character on a par with Lanfear and Ishamael, but to me it makes more sense Moggie will be the new unhinged torturer.

I'm sure time will prove me wrong lol.

I think Moggys intro was quite terrifying, instantly compelling Nyn and Elayne, making them her puppets, than letting them go for shits and giggles.

Follow that with her incredibly humbling the black sisters, she's insane.!

Based on the Forsaken statues in season 1, Semihage seems like one of the 4 females..

Lanfear = looks like a priestess

    Greandel = Boobs

Moggy = kinda looks like a nun with a spidery cracked dress, actually made me think of Messaana

"Semihage" = tall, straight long hair, long thin neck which reminds me of those tribal African neck rings

If I had to guess Moggy will be merged with Messaana, Messy doesn't really come into it till Moggy gets humbled by death.

Can anyone explain what the fog was that the whitecloaks used for cover?

Well obviously there was a legion of kids with incense burners?

And.. there was fog shown in that first scene..

Honestly maybe it's just magic 🫠

Seriously, the whitecloak charge was cool. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was kinda the coolest part for the best battle in cinema history - only slightly sarcastic here, I really did think it was cool 🫣

I'm pretty sure Ishy let Rand kill him and was toying with Egwene. He's playing the long game.

I think you're right, it makes sense that Ishy, the master manipulator is playing games here.

There's no way Eggy could hold him off, the strongest channeller in world - but it would push her arrogance.

Theres no reason he didn't kill Nyn and / or Elayne, Eggy was on the defensive and we saw how fast the Forsaken can channel.

Why use the Demane against Rand when he had 6 Forsaken who could wreck the city?

Also, how easily he was killed and why he didnt heal. He basically welcomed it, which fits but still.. really does bug me Ishy "sheathed the sword".

Even if this is true, its still underwhelming. It makes sense in the long run but it looks silly.. Ishy playing games is the best case scenario 🫨

Thankfully the last scene was a banger.

I knew Mat blowing the Horn would trigger his memories, I called that 2 weeks ago 🙂

I'm thinking it may be a trigger to the holes in his memories, though maybe I'm just keen for some fins.

I actually loved how Rand just ganked Turak.

I was surprised at how I too thought that was great.

Couldnt help but laugh, they bigged it up in the trailers and.. lol! They bloody Indiana Jones it 😅

Notice how the all died on their knees, head bowed to Rand. If I didn't know better I'd swear there was a Tar'vareen about.

The fighting scenes fall really flat for me, generally speaking. Too many quick cuts and you can barely tell what's going on. I hope next scenes have directors with more action experience.

Agree, there was like a nearly 5 second cut with the lady samurai hero just slicing throught the Seanchan that looked amazing. Everything else was like they were only aloud to do one thing before the cut, quite jarring.

I think Barthanes is probably gone if not already.  Lady

I've read theories that I think could work..

Barthanes merged with the rebel (Toram?), Caroline Demondreds "cousin", he hooks up with Fain and is killed by Lan in Far Madding.

Anvaere merged with Colavere, I can see this having an impact with Rand not wanting to kill her.

I agree Ishy and Lanfear are amazing in this adaption but I hope they keep the DOs body swap mechanic. It really ups the anti for how crazy the shadow is and also shows how the DO breaks the rules.

  8. Fail also has to put up with Perrin smelling her emotions, poor girl doesn't get a chance to deal with them, even if she knows they're wrong or stupid.

You can see her struggle with this in the books and if you ignore what Perrin smells she's not as big of a B.

You know.. girls love it when you tell them they're being emotional. It shows how much you love and care for them and will instantly calm them down.

Give it a go guys 😉

    Spoiler

    I dare you.

The show demonstrated in this episode that the sul'dahm sponge-bathe their damane.

That was some half assed sponging though, even the repressed whitecloaks did a better job of bathing.

Regarding the Adam removal, I've read someone speculating the ring the Suldam wear which has a similar symbol to the Adams chest piece is used as a key to unlock the Adam.

  10. Whilst I liked this episode it feels a bit.. off. Especially coming from the last three banger episodes.

Loved Lanfear, sporting her favourite colors having a guy ole time with some casual murdering. Just tickles me this is where we finally see her in white and silver.

Fun nod to Lanfears secret fast travel and how she's playing her own game putting a hit on Moraine.

"This a sex thing or a murder thing?"

Ishy turning around to consider gave me a chuckle - "neither unfortunately"

Eggys training was cool, Renna's facial acting is superb. I swear that girl doesn't know how to blink. Liked how she was trying to be patient and understanding and Eggy's all like - lol, im totally going to kill you 😇

While we're here, what's up with Eggy's capturers bathing her? I thought it was Elayne that has a thing for baths 😅

Actually the fight with Matt vs Galad and Gawwyn was in the middle of book 3 The Dragon Reborn, Chapter 24 (of 56) , so there was a chance we could have gotten it in season 2, but also could be season 3 and still align with the books

What's the chances Matt notices Rand and Lans "confrontation", joins in and puts Alannas Warders in their place?

So there is no indication that anything in Seanchan lands was down to Ishy's direct hand, so all the decisions and actions they took where made by those over there without influence.

It is also interesting that he "corrupted" the K- cycle they took with them, only to have those corrupted prophesies come true in a way that allowed the Dragon to bring the Seanchan on side.

Yes he got more stuff done then any of the foresaken, but, in many ways he was the most inept because every step he took led inevitably to the Dragon winning, he would almost have been better just staying in bed and doing nothing.

No turning up to see LTT, no dragonmount.

No influence of Hawking, no Seanchan army to help win the last battle, no civil war leading to the political situation Randland found itself in to allow Rand to unite the nation. You really could argue the most busy Foresaken, but in terms of the Last Battle the most ineffective because things would have been better for the dark if he had just done nothing.

The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills dude 😉

Cool thought though, it doesn't matter what the shadow does the "Wheel" compensates so the shadow never can win..

    Poor Ishy 🥲

  13. @DreadLord31 (quotes aren't liking me, this is referring your last comment)

Reddits resident Brown has been doing some stats for the show, interestingly for season two so far, the top 5 characters vs screen time includes four of the E5.

Not that I’m much of a show defender - but it could make sense//pay off if Liandrin is replacing Alviarian and Lanfear is replacing Messana

I don't think so, Liandrins been outed as black. Granted only the girls know at this stage which is the same as the books, pretty sure Verin outed her when she got back to the tower in TDR with the girls, which precipitated the group of blacks fleeing.?

We haven't seen anything come from Verins sleuthing yet so I'd guess that'll come to a head soon, plus we saw in the trailer Liandrin, hiding in a cloak looking shady - potentially fleeing 😉

I'm thinking this'll set up the Tanchico plot with Moggy for next season.

  15. You guys are weird.. not that there's anything wrong with that, consentually speaking.

Like, my mind is totally at least a little corrupted. Crikey, I even noticed the giant hidden innuendo of the cleansing most people miss.

But I never read the Damane and Suldum relationships with any sexual connotations, only ever been as horrible, dehumanising slavery.

Well, it's not a stretch to get there guess, I just never thought that way.

Guess that's the cool thing about art, it's beauty and meaning lie in the eyes of.the beholder 😇

  16. Well that was another fun episode..

    The Damane training was.. 🤮

Was a little worried they were going to pull there punches with this but it didn't dissapoint. The casual cruelty is sickening and horrifying, Maddy had a lot to work with and smashed it, that ending was heartbreaking.

    Bloody Renna, bloody Seanchan!

Cannot wait for some comeuppance, Eggy Gunnar show them what they taught her 😈

Loving Lanfear without her mask and playing her own games, calling Rand Lews Therin (she said the thing!).

Ishy dear - lol! Question, was that Ishy or did Lanfear dream him. For some reason I can't imagine she'd call him that to his face.

Something about Barthaines seems off this episode, I take it back and now think hes allegiance will match the books.

Nyn & Elayne were fun and doing well together on screen, that's nice considering they spend alot of time together moving forward.

Weird they had Nyn do the understand the Adam thing, don't know what to think about that and was the only thing I shook my head at this ep.

Overall, these last 3 episodes are raising my faith in the show and I'm excited for the next 2.

Well you guys are having such fun going over this, I'm surprised the show's writers could resist. They could have made a whole series just about the kidnapping. It would have been awesome. Think of the suspense! The excitement! The unconscious young women!

Yeah dude, a multi-million dollar spin off filled with innuendos and an absurd amount of spankings, laughter and tears 🙃

  18. 1 hour ago, Mailman said:

Yes the novices roaming the tower has been an irritant, not as much however as them being able to gain access to the room housing the 3 arches Ter'angreal easily was though. Having a camp out down there was just insane.

My problem is its a shit plan. Anyone seeing 3 bodies loaded into a wagon is going to question WTF is going on. There is always a chance of being lucky and not being seen but it's a big chance to take. Why not have Nynaeve who you have built up a trust with simply meet you at the waygate.

    Lol!

You're really trying to push the feather up the mountain with this aren't you? 😅

As I stated the episode gave us enough info to show the Shadow works in mysterious "ways".

Seriously, where did this wagon come from you mentioned?

You're obviously biased argument is filling in the blanks to suit your negative narative dude.

    Ok, how about this..

Liandrin put the unconscious, shielded girls in a "wagon", used masks of mirrors (covered them with a blanket) and had a darkfriend who is terrified of Ishy to help get them out of the city..?

Again, why should the show waste more time explaining this?

  19. Regarding Liandrins kidnapping..

As much as I enjoy watching the Mods bash their heads against a wall this really is a redundant argument.

Why waste precious screen time on what is essentially a minor quibble, book fans can easily find numerous ways to explain this away and there's enough shown in this episode for show only fans to understand..

Their next scene Liandrin outs herself as black, following that her and Suroth show this is their Masters plan who we know is Ishy.

We also have Ishy telling Lanfear how he doesn't waste lives he can use..

Adding that together is it really that far of a leap to suggest that a member of the Black Ajah, on orders from Ishy who is the leader of the Forsaken, wouldn't have the resources to pull off this kidnapping?

Don't get me wrong, there's been some questionable writing / plots.. but I don't think this is bad writing, just unnecessary to explain further.

I'm curious to know if show only fans have an issue with this?

I've run into this sentiment regarding the Two Rivers 5 elsewhere as well and I think it's a bit of failure by the show. And I feel it myself as well, if I didn't have book knowledge about the characters, I don't know if I'd really care about them that much either based on how they act in the show. I think the show leaned too much into relationship drama early in season 1 which resulted in confrontational scenes. Everyone was arguing, then making up, arguing again etc. Rand for one came off really ungrateful towards Moiraine in episodes 1 & 2. Egwene called Rand a bastard, Rand called Mat a prick etc. Even the humour was kind of mean spirited; in episode 3 when Mat is clearly freezing Rand makes a joke of it instead of sharing his coat. That's so far off from how they looked after each other in the book when they had to fend for themselves after getting separated in Shadar Logoth. It just came off really hostile and argumentative all the time.

I speculated on this when it aired, but I think Rands odd behaviour here may be due to early channelling issues, most likely due to helping Bela.

Matt echoed my thoughts of Rands little bit chilly joke, he laughs at Matt when he gets robbed and is a dick to him throughout those scenes.
