Flicker Flicker Del….! Coming out of my haze, I stared in horror as the Nae’blis of the Dark One takes over the Algai’s mind. Mother’s voice reached me again and Lily appeares to be flashing between darkness and light. The Nae’blis was heading her way.. Weaving Saidar, I wrap Eirik from head to toe in flows of Air and then drench him in flows of Spirit. As he shakes his head, the darkness around him dissipates. Weaving spirit again I let it flow first over Lily, who for a moment appeared even more shadowed than Eirik, and then over Mother Elgee before dividing the flows to cleanse the whole assembly. Then channeling I fix Spirit infused globes of light overhead and in every corner, chasing the flickering dark away. Releasing Eirik, I run over to my Sister and wrap an arm around her. Are you alright Mother? I must say you look stunning….

Flicker Flicker Flicker Flicker Weaves a flow of spirit into a nearby stone with odd markings covering it. Flicker Flicker Flicker Flicker Oh! Oh my! Well, my children the Feast of Fools Flicker Ball and Street Fair has come to an end. The Dark one has been driven away, for now, but we all must remain ever vigilant as he tries to find ways to touch this world. Slowly the flickering comes to an end and the world around us begins to stabilize. I weave a Water, Air, and Spirit together, and send the energy to the clouds above. Slowly at first, then faster and heavier the snow falls leaving a glittering white cover that washed away all touches or the Dark Ones taint that remained around me. Tying off the weave so it dissipated over the next few hours I look around at all the people starting to gather as they come out of their haze. Go and rest, children. You are safe from the Dark One and his touch for now. Well? Go on. You may go about your business… Flicker

*Channels a flow of air to hold the Nae'blis's fingertips nearly two feet above her smaller frame* Yes, of course my Lord. 😉 *coming back into a formal hold, Del smiled at him as they continued twirling under the twinkling lights, and flickering shadows* Have I ever seen you... dripping wet at the Moat? 💦

These two statements together are truly balms to the heart when it hurts. And both are so beautifully articulated here. Grief is love unexpressed and there is a strange (and beautiful) therapy in sadness. Even down to considering the healing composition of tears and the chemical changes in our bodies and brains during long hugs and snuggles. Which is perhaps why we are also fond of them around here. We all end up bearing so much in our lives, the comfort of those people and places we can count on become real lifelines as we try to navigate the receiving and releasing that is constantly going on. 🤍

It was certainly our Bond that helped bring me back here! *Grins and hugs back* I did miss you in particular so desperately! Late night chats about.... salt baths and things. lmao! It is pretty wonderful getting to know people from different times on DM. It really is like the books. We take vows to always remember this as our family and to always return. It has felt that way to me through the years. Like the books, we go out into the world and then return again. Sometimes to stay.❄️🤍😉

Our Bonds, especially our Gaidin, really are a part of us. 🤍 No matter the distance between you or time of the day you start to think the same, text randomly at the same times, feel the need to connect in the same moment. You close your eyes and you can feel each other like you are closer than the same breath. You know what the other is thinking and sometimes even feel it. You know when you need each other, even if you don't know how. A day without them can feel like forever and years apart can vanish in an instant when you feel their presence again. It's like no connection I have known. When it's gone, it's like a black hole is ripped through you. It never seems to heal but you wouldn't change it for the world. 💔 Something truly magic happens on these boards when we Bond deliberately and with genuine feeling. 🤍 I have a sad too, Sister. *snuggles* 🥲

A gateway opens off to one side of the ball room and slices the tray of a nearby server in half. I glance at him, and the mess and shake my head as I step though, my dress for the evening a carefully chosen white to represent my Ajah flickering, flickering and finally settling on Black. Handing the pair of weapons, what odd things to be holding, to the shocked looking servant I glance at all the broken glass on the floor. You’d best get someone to clean that up….
