Sooh is my hydra partner. Her input to me is invaluable.

 

Notbob is my lowest read because of his content so far. Voted manbat. Gave a crap reason for it. Voted me. Gave a crap reason for that too. After I questioned him about his crap reason, he called me defensive. His only vaguely useful contribution is a hypothetical Zander having a day vig question.

 

So if it were only up to me, I'd be already voting notbob.

I guess Nyn comes off as a little more towny, but that might have to do with my initial suss of Monstr which came long before those posts. Trying to read Cass now will be a challenge lol. Oh I always read, I just generally dont read back of I missed 20+ pages. I can live without them and usually I can show myself enough that people get good reads on me so it works out.

Sooh didn't just show up Darthe, but what she has posted was mostly during the pre-play phase. I'm not ignoring meta on Calder, I'm saying that he fooled me last game, so I'm leaning null to slight town. 

 

My Dice logic is based on him still playing like I saw before, but it was surprising that his venom wasn't pointed at me. As I said, the tricky thing with meta is that I don't know if the difference is his own play or mine, but his actual actions seem to favor town so far.

Random bugged me in small doses but I don't really have a head for him yet.  More things to work on.

 

I remember a point Marsh brought up last game about Random being overactive as Scum.

 

If that game he was super active and Town, I know its early but I felt last game his posts had more umph and substance to them then they have so far.

 

Last game started on a weekend, and we had a LOT of fluff before we got into real gameplay IMO. But fair is fair, I'll do a quick dig-in now that I'm all settled:

 Darthe: He's matching his last game fairly consistently so far, in which he was town, so for the moment I've got a slight town lean at the moment. I prefer to go off current game content more, but with what he's posted so far, this is all I have to go on (he does notice interesting things players say however, which can be insightful)

Calder: Tough to call. I'm trying to ignore what little meta I have on Calder, because he completely fooled me last game as SK (i thought him town) However, ignoring that still gives me a town read based on current game's play, but not a strong inclination just yet. Zander: Last game as IC he was twice as belligerent as he's been so far with his scumhunting. There's not a whole lot of activity in comparison, but he's not flouting himself as the town champion he was early last game. I don't feel great about this so far. Slight scum leanMarsh: IC. duh. (could use some input from him however)Dice: It's surprising that my posts this game haven't drawn the scrutiny from Dice I faced last time, which could be a bad sign for him, or could mean my play's been a bit more solid this game. I've got a slight town vibe from him for the moment

Notbob: He's been enigmatic for me. Asked some odd questions (Asking hypothetically about a Zander Vig shot?) but I haven't been feeling one way or the other quite yet. 

Sock: Sooh hasn't really posted much substance in my opinion either way. Eldrick is doing a good job seeming like he's looking for scum, but I felt a bit weird about how he was so quick to vote manbat after our interaction, and seemed to agree with everything I said. This could be paranoia - I'm not used to being agreed with frequently in mafia. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt for the moment, but that just equals a null read

Pral: BlankShad: I like Shad's play so far. I'm following his logic, he's posting concise yet thoughtful content. If he's a wolf, this is some spectacular play so far, but it is still early. Probably my biggest town lean so far

Amega: Again, not much at allCass: I don't know enough about manbat to setup any reads for Cass, but prior to the switch i'd have leaned scum on this player. We'll see if more activity changes anything. Random: All - American Hero

I see youre using meta from last.game on me but ignoring it on calder, and thats confusing.

Well, I already laid out what reasoning I had in the reads list, but if you desire quotes and such, I can do that now. Are you still mostly referring to the Dice bit, or the Calder / Sooh thing as well?

@Darthe - Looking into Dice logic, but the read on Sooh is null and the lean/orange on my slot is explained solely in context wrt monstr which makes enough sense for now?

 

@Random - Why are you surprised Dice's venom isn't directed at you here? Have you specifically tested his reaction for that?

 

Also, you don't actually explain there why you read him Town. Ie there is no discernable reasoning til that point.

re monstrs core  he asked people he has meta with is how i looked at it and whose responses he was happy with. It is a common thing to ask opinions of people you are trusting or who are on the same wavelength as you.

 

 

He gave a clear, concise defense of someone I was beginning to FOS. He didn't jump onto a train, he provided information I had asked for and needed to make a decision, and that just feels town at this point in the game. HIs comment and subsequent dealings with Zander:

Notice tho that I voted Zander and he hasnt said a WORD about it despite replying to things posted after it.

 

 

Combined with Zander's OMGUS vote on me after my first reads list makes me wonder if my town lean on Dice following this exchange didn't ruffle his feathers. Feeling a bit more confident on my Zander read too. 

 

For Sooh, most of her posts were before and at page 21, and looked like this:

I can't base a read off that, so I went on what I had with the other head of the hydra. 

 

For Calder, his activity ceases around the same time. Most of it is regarding sandwiches and whatnot, but that's how he started last game as well. his few game related posts didn't give me huge vibes either way, but it's an early D1 read. 

 

What troubles me is both Zander AND Darthe's snap votes on me. Sure Darthe asked questions, and him claiming he won't read is both false and perfectly in line with his play, but Zander literally said he just did it as OMGUS, which seems a bad reason when responding to an entire reads list. Zander also doesn't seem the type to just vote when town and scum hunting, he's well-spoken enough to create a case or at least an FOS

I don't hate the logic in bold wrt Dice but I disagree/think Dice's actual response is null in isolation.

 

Went back and skimmed a page either side of first Dice quote. Not a fan of Random or Eldrick's push/votes on Monstr.

 

I have my bias but Random's tone is off and Eldrick's quick vote in the context of his unvote off me where he says he had Monstr null seems inconsistent. Probably unlikely to be wolf-wolf that close together.

 

Zander can create cases/FoS as either alignment and is probably more vocal about actual 'cases' as scum imo.

- Do you have a different experience with Town/Scum Zander?

 

- Why do you jump into your defence of Sooh read (which is null) without processing that Darthe mixed up Sooh and I (specific with reference to Cat gifs and the colour orange)?

@Eldrick - My issue with your call on Darthe is that I read it simply as him playing, I don't understand the leap to "he's deliberately avoiding work and going to take someone else's response as what's happened in the game".

 

Can you explain why you voted Monstr if you had him null and NotBob scummy?

 

Also, you and Darthe are both saying you're not going back to reread. You call him scummy for it, then say it would be scummy if it was anyone else, and then state it yourself a few posts later.

Here for a couple of hours while pretending to work at work. 

I still have a couple of pages to catch up on, but there are some things I find really annoying. First off it's the notion that when people do something that's not within their meta it is scummy. It might be, but there are more factors that need to weigh into a read such as that. I'm worried this site is becoming way too meta heavy, and we'll run ourselves into a wall because we're not willing to open our minds and try to look at motivations for changed behavior other than different= scum. 

 

Meta is also SO EASY to rely on as scum when you're trying to get someone lynched. If that someone has been just a little different to what they normally behave like, you can just harp and harp on that until eventually people agree with you. That's not good guys!

 

I'm also really confused that people have actually tried reading me off my posts from yesterday. Yesterday by the time I went to bed the thread had barely moved out of the joke phase, and I think the only game related thing I said was that I was feeling ok about Zander's early game. I guess if your read on me is based on meta factors such as fairly high post count and light tone you can town read me off of that, but tbh I don't think any of that would have been impossible for me to say as scum, especially not early D1. 

 

I hope during the rest of D1 I can get to talk to each of you a little bit individually, because I find that I can more easily assess alignment then. Whoever's online, you're up next!

@cass while I did dig into monstr a bit, you'll notice I never voted. I was simply trying to get into the small bit of gameplay actually happening.

 

I've only played one game with Zander, it was the recent Buffy game. Dice, Calder, marsh and darthe were there too. Zander was IC that game, so he was town the whole way. IMO he played that game entire different than he has so far.

 

I'm not pushing a lynch on him just yet, but I'm good with my vote for now.

 

As for the Sooh thing, I don't consider it jumping to defend myself when someone asks questions or points things out. What I DO and always will do, is to ensure if something's asked of or addressed to me, I'll explain myself to avoid miscommunication.

 

Finally, I may be a bit less experienced with Zander than yourself or others, but when he was town that game he had the highest post count by a fair margin, and almost all of it felt townie to an extent - anti scum at least. That's not been my impression of him this game yet, so I acted.

hes off cass. his tone isnt right. he isnt approaching it in normal town zander you can see it in 3 posts way. the faact that he didnt jump out of his skin when i voted him is setting off alarm bells. especially as he jumped straight at random for voting him.

Not willing to go back and read, to develop reads on people, while asking said people what has happened.

Not only not counted as working, but actually scummy. That you are willing to accept someone's answer without having a clue if they are town or not.

Without having read anything but this page since I said I was gonna go read, bold feels reachy if serious.

 

Darthe will walk all over this accusation as either alignment imo, Eldrick are you serious?

 

What do you mean by 'accept someone's answer' etc? Possibility for spin there seems off.

 

How else would you expect someone to approach a newcomer here?

 

 

The problem isn't only with asking what's going on. It's with saying he isn't going to read.

 

Which implies he will take what is said for granted. Tell me, how is that villagery? Only way for him to know what is being said is true is

A) Someone disputes it.

B) He already knows who is scum by being scum.

 

I don't see town taking the risk that what is being said is true without going back to read and check. That is a scum play if I've ever seen one.

 

Tbh I have seen this come from townDarthe before, so there really are no huge red flags for me. Agree to disagree I guess.

I can see this brainwave from townZander. I wouldn't expect him to have a solid read on me at all at this point in the game, and tbh (sorry Eldrick <3) I can see why he would think Eldrick is scummy so far as well.
