Hmm. Reread pages 12-15 and Shad comes out of it looking pretty defensive. At first Nolder was looking hypocritical because he was FOSing Shad for acting without explaining himself, but refused to explain himself either. But when I asked, Nol immediately explained. Whereas Shad refused to give substantive reasoning and kept falling back to insults. This post in particular pinged me:

Zander's never read me correctly out the gate in any game ever.

 

I'll humor you later if I have the time, but I'm not particularly interested in defending myself at the moment.

Not interested in defending himself but spent his last like six posts on just that.

 

Finally got to looking at this.

 

The only post in that whole sequence that was remotely defensive was the first one, that I made at you, where I immediately posted again calling myself out on it.

 

You wouldn't be the first person to interpret my bluntness as defensiveness, as bewildering as that is to me.  But I need you to talk me through your thought process more here.  You pulled a post where I was responding to Cass's request that I go back through early Cass and Zander posts and pull out individual quotes that I liked.  Do you feel that my response to this is applicable to my conversation with Nolder?

 

It's easy to pull an out of context quote where I say I'm not interested in defending myself [by doing tedious work that I find unnecessary] and point to some other posts and mislabel them as defensive and say I'm contradicting myself and that's wolfy, but it's never going to catch scum > rand of the time.  Talk me through your thought process when you made this connection.

I'm ok with letting Hallia be. Most of my suspicions rest in that Nolder/Shad argument, which I am going to have to reread to make more sense of. I'm pretty sure one of them is scum but I can't remember which at this point.

Can you elaborate? Because I don't see where the above quote leads to your read.

John Snow: Pops in, votes me for lame/unexplained reasons, disappears. Pingy for sure, and like I said before this reminds me of Scum!Clovdyx in the beginning of Demons Cove. He directed all of the attention toward me right from the start and not only gained towncred for it, but was able to keep the heat off of his lurky teammates. They won that game in part because of his calculated risk there.

I didn't pay attention to that game, but I know Clov and I rather doubt all he had to say was on par with:

This is kind of awkward.

 

I mean I get "I think Joe's wolfy for doing this" . . . "oh crap I'm doing something similar" moments. But my reflex isn't going to be to adjust my vote to be in accordance with my stated reads. It's going to be to qualify my previous opinion on Believer.

TBH, Clovr, I'd vote you. Niniel and Wifi are pinging me extremely faintly for posting once or twice and vanishing again, but your rush to put the pressure on and move the game immediately from "day one lighthearted" to serious whispers scum trying to earn some early towncred by appearing proactive. But even though you're technically on top of my suspect list I don't want to place a serious vote until later, when I have more info.

Char claiming this early is disgusting.

You are not going to solve the game by character claiming. Since the scum have safe claims.

 

Roles are usually based on characters tho

 

I'm not sure in this game. Mine don't seem to do with each other at all. Could be that I'm just missing the connection cause it's been so long since I read the books. 

 

Also I agree that char/role claiming isn't gonna do much.

Encourages lynching PRs to test their claims without actually presenting a case for why they're scummy.

Clearly from another era as far as how he perceives the game, for better or worse.  GOAT reads, has the wolves in his bottom four for a lot of the game and bottom three for a while.

See, Hellion, for the record this is something I policy lynch.

In my view (and I can explain why if you want) self voting is never a pro town move.

That isn't to say that townies don't do it because I'm sure we've all seen it before but as a tactic it is never advantageous for a town player to do this and, imo, it needs to be answered with a policy lynch to discourage others from doing it in the future for whatever reason.

 

 

If anyone needs further justification to vote Shad let me throw this out there for you, this is either a gross attempt at AtE or game throwing if Shad is Town.

Take your pick but either way he needs to be lynched at the end of this day as far as I'm concerned.
