I have put so much effort into this game, and feel like I'm gonna lose anyway.

I was wrong about my possible breadcrumb. It was before Hally claimed. My thought then was that Turin was the cop. That he was saying what he did to make the scum think there wasn't a cop. Now that it's obvious I was wrong, I wanted to explain what my thought process was then.

 

Hally claiming gave me doubts because of how he handled the situation.

I still find her suspicious based on her play. Supposing she's town she wouldn't have been lynched unless at least one more townie plus two scums had voted her. I want to question her more when I am able to, though probably not tonight since it's midnight already. Turin flipping town hasn't exactly made her un-suspicious to me.

It would only have taken 2 more votes to tie with Turin if you hadn't switched.

The fact that you stayed on Tab until right before the deadline looks good for you, in the sense that it looks like you aren't her teammate. If the team isn't Sooh/Tab, I might be wrong about Shad or Lily.

 

If Hally is scum, I have a feeling that will be resolved tonight. If she's town, I'm curious how tonight will go.

Hally/Not Lily

If Hally isn't on a team with Lily, then Hally isn't scum. Scum!Hally wouldn't have cleared her top scum read. She would have rode the mislynch.

Sooh/Tab

Sooh left her vote on Tab until right before the DL. If she was on a team with Tab, she would be risking lynching her teammate, because Lily was willing to switch.

 

Lily/Hally

Possible scum team. Hally fake claiming claiming her teammate as her town peek.

I haven't researched the likelihood of other teams yet, but either Lily, or Shad, or both, are scum. Not voting anywhere else.

My initial reasoning for why I suspected Eldrick

I agree with your comment about Thane re: "This reads like you know Z isn't a wolf" - but I also wonder when people who have experience post things like "So that means there's 2 baddies, right?" Your vote seems reasonable, given the little amount of material to go on.

 

Sooh is null from what seems like a joke vote.

 

Likewise I can see where Eld is coming from (again, given so little material to work with), but I don't think there's any honest risk right now of a real train happening, it seemed like a bit of an overreaction? Would scum jump to push on a train so soon? 

I like Tab's logical sounding posts this game.

 

 

I like Turin forcing reactions out of people early. I think his quick switch from Thane to Eldrick comes from a townie state of mind more often than not. It was page 2 in the game; I doubt scum!Turin would go "oh no, Eldrick's on to me!" and respond with an OMGUS pushback.  Especially considering how calm town!Turin can be under pressure.  Switching targets fast like that could draw negative attention as scum, and I think it's more likely to come from town actually looking for early warnings and drawing attention to them.

 

Thane's reactions to Turin were entirely null imo.  He has a relaxed game that he can replicate well, and I don't think the 'understanding' approach is alignment indicative for him.  Thane's biggest struggle as scum is how he progresses his reads, and that's no secret.

 

Eldrick already feels fishy.  I'm not entirely sure what the key to distinguishing GnD D0 Eldrick from Supernatural Eldrick is, but I'm curious how he responds to me.

He seems odd, i guess.  The OMGUS vote was bad imo.  He voted Thane again to start off this game as well as the the last game so kinda null.  But i dont like the reasoning for the switch and I kinda disagree that dropping a 2nd vote someone isnt a big deal in a 9 player game.

 

 

Eh, it didn't feel like something I would call 'omgus', probably because I was leery of Eldrick when I read it.  I disagree with red, quite a bit actually.  When scum smell an easy lynch and piggyback a poorly developed train, they get outed for it more often than not.  When scum acquire a small train early, they're prone to make goofy/unnatural reactions.  Two early votes on a player is never an inherently bad thing.  Make what you will of his reason for dropping the vote.  I"m not bothered by it.

 

Even more so.

 

When you are sure he's scum. I know youre a good player but thats a pretty quick solid read that early imo. Wait till theres more to go on.

Really? So the bar is "sure they are mafia" before a second vote can be made? I don't see how the game will ever progress to a productive day in that case.

Up to here, I would have Turin, Tab, Shad, and Sooh surprisingly on my town list.  Sooh didn't get quoted, but the back and forth between her and Eld feels very towny.

 

I was researching what Hally's read was on Tab, whether it was logical for Sooh to think that Hally would vote Tab or not. This is the only reference to Tab that Hally makes all game. she puts Tab in town atp because of it, which would mean that Sooh wouldn't expect Hally to vote Tab, if the team was Tab/Sooh.

A couple of reasons I'm not voting Eldrick:
1) Like I said before, every vote is a big deal in a game this small. We have time. That's why I asked about a deadline. 
2) He can't always be scum, and I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt until I can't anymore. He'll get there soon enough if he's scum.

 
 

 

And that is so not the only way. Cop could view him.

Hally never posts an actual reads list, but from this post and the one quoted in my last post, we can see that her reads are:

Thane and Lily as scum.

 

She had mentioned reasons for me to be town, but doesn't put me in any category atp. She moved me out of her town reads without ever saying why, but not into her scum reads. It still bugs me that after she called me town, I asked her a question that she ignored.

Doesn't have a read on Zander at all. This is the only thing that comes close:

I don't know what it was in my mind that connected Hally's reads to her being scum. Her game has been horrible, and doesn't feel like Town!Hally at all. Her cop claim feels convenient. I think she just lucked out on there not being a real cop.

If she is gf, then we reevaluate.

If she's town, we lose, but that's true with any townie and the risk is equal for anyone.
