Overall it feels like she could have been making a push on Zander due to his change in playstyle but wasn't gaining any traction and actually making herself look worse because she couldn't support the case when asked to, so she gave her self and out, and then backed out of the vote completely. I know that we're allowed to change reads but it's one thing if I comes off like a legitimate change of mind, but being that the case was built on nothing to begin with, the backing out looks rather scummy when coupled with her play so far this game and tunnel in on Zander.

Some generic thoughts on Zander...

 

Nyn - agreed that it would take a ballsy mafia to change play style, BUT everyone knew coming into this game that Zander was changing his play style, so changing it should be null. He's also been identified early as mafia in his last game and is absolutely good enough to change in response.

 

Laine - Zander didn't bus either Verb or me in Tarmon Gaidon, I tend to agree with Yates that his bussing depends entirely on who he's playing with, and it's something that Cory would probably change if he could anyway.

 

That said at the moment I have him more likely town than not due to the broad focus.

I can't say Zander feels good on tone as it's so different and something I historically misread him on. His presence is completely null, as he's not afraid of posting as mafia. And he hasn't been pushed as much this game for the reactive posts to be indicative. I think his content's ok and some of our interactions have felt like they have the past couple of games when town.

 

I'm also aware that Sooh reads him better than me, so I'm interested in their interaction

Which goes to show that your approach modifies itself depending on your teammates. And given you were 'caught' Day 1/2 your last 2 games, so if you can change, time to do so?

 

I've already said that Sooh's case on you is the biggest thing that has me dropping her in my (currently hypothetical) list.

 

Sooh was also the first person to publicly acknowledge the possibility of Cory's mentorship on your posting and I'm not sure how that matches her later case.

Something about the whole Lily exchange with Zander, Nolder voting Lily for it and unvoting her with just an explanation from her. And, Alanna being dragged into it by Sooh. There is definitely a bad one in this exchange,

This is a question that needs answering. Also high five on the avatar. 

 

I like Sooh's approach here. She doesn't know anything about me or my meta. So she pokes at me to learn more. Day 1 is all about the subtle pokes and seeing how people react. Underreactions and over reactions are the only meat we really have to go on. 

 

@Turin - I noticed the same soft claim thing but was kind of sitting on it to see if Zander was going to bring it up again or make a big deal out of it again. It always is fishy to me when people bring up claims so early either way, but not knowing meta wasn't sure what to make of it.

 

I think I'm willing to [v]Zander [/v] for now for this reason. Good as any at this point.

It used to be all fun and games D1 and maybe half a day of 'real play' just before DL. Those times are seemingly dead and buried indeed. But, in this game, i like the lower postcount mixed with high content. It makes games fun and easier to read.

I've explained my thoughts on Zander, even with his changes I believe he is town, but I probably wouldn't lynch him today regardless because I want more of a sample from him. Anyways, he's town slotted. BFG is feeling more BFG than in Clov's game, which is a strange thing to say but I wasn't really reading her as town last game and here I am feeling a lot better about her. Turin has been providing thoughts and I've mostly liked what he's had to say, I've also enjoyed his pushes and the reasoning behind them. Thane is skating by on his early excitement, but I want MOAR to get a stronger read either way. BG would be my weakest town read since it's based purely on gut at this point, so we'll see what happens there as well. Of course Pralaya is purely null- I don't see any extra activity from him even with a smaller page count so I'd really like for him to get in here and give us his thoughts. Nyn is null for me as well, there are some things I'm looking for from her which I haven't seen so I don't feel comfortable calling her town. Lily is there for her vote thing, Nolder for his, and an overall weirdness. Plus Nolder is pinging for trying to buddy me and an overall gut-scum feeling. Sooh is all over the place and it's frustrating because I don't know what is due to sickness or what could be scummy, so I'll wait for her to improve. She definitely doesn't feel like town!Sooh at this point. Eldrick is different from his normal weird and not in a good way. I agree that some of his posts feel forced and he seems to be posting more jokes than content at this point when I would prefer the opposite especially when some are making an extra effort to tone it down.

Well I guess that's something. I like to think I read Zander pretty well and I'm town reading him so that's where I am whether you disagree with my reasons or not lol

 

As for Zander's early reads on those two, he's a gut player, I expect those things from him. I personally disagree on Nyn being so high and agree with Thane though Thane has risen recently for me. Overall Nyn has been giving content and she's been present in the thread; as for Thane, he's engaged and that's what I consider to come from a town!Thane... which brings me to the below post:

In my experience I don't recall Thane being as engaged as mafia, and I associate that with an effort level, that's not quantity of posts but quality of posts. What do you make of Zander's early strong town reads on you and Nyn (and Thane)?

 

Well I guess that's something. I like to think I read Zander pretty well and I'm town reading him so that's where I am whether you disagree with my reasons or not lol

 

As for Zander's early reads on those two, he's a gut player, I expect those things from him. I personally disagree on Nyn being so high and agree with Thane though Thane has risen recently for me. Overall Nyn has been giving content and she's been present in the thread; as for Thane, he's engaged and that's what I consider to come from a town!Thane... which brings me to the below post:

In my experience I don't recall Thane being as engaged as mafia, and I associate that with an effort level, that's not quantity of posts but quality of posts. He's been posting and putting forth effort that I don't associate with mafia!Thane and his attitude toward the game is also townie, thus my read of him.

I've already said that Sooh's case on you is the biggest thing that has me dropping her in my (currently hypothetical) list.

 

Sooh was also the first person to publicly acknowledge the possibility of Cory's mentorship on your posting and I'm not sure how that matches her later case.

I think it is scummy to keep trying to push to clear yourself through things that don't really clear you. You are pushing that you MUST be town. Newsflash: you aren't MOD confirmed as town in this game. That you keep trying to shove it down everyone's throat sits wrong with me. I don't see a good town reason to do this.   Just be town and people will believe you are town.

I like Sooh's approach here. She doesn't know anything about me or my meta. So she pokes at me to learn more. Day 1 is all about the subtle pokes and seeing how people react. Underreactions and over reactions are the only meat we really have to go on. 

 

@Turin - I noticed the same soft claim thing but was kind of sitting on it to see if Zander was going to bring it up again or make a big deal out of it again. It always is fishy to me when people bring up claims so early either way, but not knowing meta wasn't sure what to make of it.

I've explained my thoughts on Zander, even with his changes I believe he is town, but I probably wouldn't lynch him today regardless because I want more of a sample from him. Anyways, he's town slotted. BFG is feeling more BFG than in Clov's game, which is a strange thing to say but I wasn't really reading her as town last game and here I am feeling a lot better about her. Turin has been providing thoughts and I've mostly liked what he's had to say, I've also enjoyed his pushes and the reasoning behind them. Thane is skating by on his early excitement, but I want MOAR to get a stronger read either way. BG would be my weakest town read since it's based purely on gut at this point, so we'll see what happens there as well. Of course Pralaya is purely null- I don't see any extra activity from him even with a smaller page count so I'd really like for him to get in here and give us his thoughts. Nyn is null for me as well, there are some things I'm looking for from her which I haven't seen so I don't feel comfortable calling her town. Lily is there for her vote thing, Nolder for his, and an overall weirdness. Plus Nolder is pinging for trying to buddy me and an overall gut-scum feeling. Sooh is all over the place and it's frustrating because I don't know what is due to sickness or what could be scummy, so I'll wait for her to improve. She definitely doesn't feel like town!Sooh at this point. Eldrick is different from his normal weird and not in a good way. I agree that some of his posts feel forced and he seems to be posting more jokes than content at this point when I would prefer the opposite especially when some are making an extra effort to tone it down.

I will say that I still completely disagree with Z regarding his character claim. Despite the wording of the op there is NO GUARANTEE any character is town. the was a similar game on one of these themes shows where one brother was town and one was an SK I believe. So no.

Honestly I would think that Town!Z would not use that same tactic in this game as basically he was a very likely lynch for D1 until he got MOD confirmed. I know that Cory has said that once he does something as town he will have to try it as mafia just to keep his mafia and town games looking alike to at least casual observation.

Overall, i like Turin's involvement in the game. Questioning, poking, investigating. He's 99.9% town imo this game. When questioned, he does try to explain, in his best way, the point he wanted to make. 

Sooh: I don't know. I can't point a finger and say 'town' or 'wolf'. I'll give her some time to get better and perhaps I'll be able to read her better later on in the game.

Nolder: As i said, it's a feeling at the back of my mind when reading his posts this game. Spidey sense, sorta. It's not a full blown wolf-accusation yet, but he's on my radar for now

What am I missing?

 

The only game (I remember) he's given out a unreasoned list as town was GnD when he was catching up on 170odd pages in a day. In other games as town most of his reads list is substantiated by thoughts/opinions/questions/responses already in thread or in his catch up post which is game related, this game there's none. In Nightmare he was behind a lot of the game, but his thread presence/content was still better than this game, and his reads were substantiated in thread despite the fact he had about 10 posts when he made his early reads.

 

At the moment his posting is reminding me most of Diablo, the reads list is a quarter step in the right direction but the fact they're unsubstantiated is massively concerning.

 

I have higher expectations of his town game than this :/
