Some players are easier for me to read (specifically for me NF types, which I'm absurdly aware of in this late point of my Mafia/werewolf career) and others I have trouble reading consistently because I do not understand how their brain works

Okay. You are undermining a potential scum hunting tool. I usually get cranky when people do this kind of stuff but this is like the 3rd time this has happened to me this game so whatever... lol

 

Basically, this is the post in question:

Since nobody is doing anything ... [v]Pralaya[/v].  If my memory is right, he likes to lurk as scum, and hasn't checked in yet.  Pral, where're you at?  Start laying some content down.

One interpretation of this post is; "I'm voting for Pral BECAUSE he likes to lurk as scum and hasn't even checked in yet."

 

That's the interpretation I had.

 

However, another interpretation is; "I'm voting for Pral since nobody is doing anything else and I like to prod lurkers when I don't have better things to do with my vote. ALSO, he likes to lurk as scum. Let's make him post a lot."

 

This was not an interpretation that immediately came to mind but is one that seems to be implied by his defense posts. I kind of didn't want to spell it out since it would have been better if HE had said something like this. Also, I could be wrong about this interpretation.

 

Still, the second interpretation seems like it could be implied if you string together this, this, this, this, this, and this. It's like he's answering suspicion without even realizing that we are all assuming the first interpretation - ie. he's unaware of why his post is being read as an accusation. But if you reread those links with the second interpretation in mind? I can buy it.

No, it has nothing to do with him voting Pral.  The vote itself I don't care about.  It's the fact he said "I have seen Pral lurk before as mafia" and voted him for not being around.  If Kiv was just voting him to "summon" Pral, so to speak, then why bother mentioning he's seen Pral do it as mafia?  Just vote him and see if he responds, and treat Pral's inactivity as null (which it is).

 

TL;DR - context suggests pushing for a meta of being a quiet mafia, Kivam denies that and says it was only for a response.

So Snow's list seems more reasonable, but I'm not understanding Nolder on there, Nolder's catch up posts from this morning didn't have a whole lot of analysis in them, but I agree with the momentum. Thread doesn't feel bitty as such, bit there seems to be a stronger focus on small arguments than I would expect. I don't know if it's just a consequence of a larger game though.

 

Pral's catch up seems narrow(?) he only comments on Sili, Kivam and Hallia and ignores the reactions to them, still early days here.

What about Snow's list seems reasonable? There isn't any explanation for his "reads".

I have no real qualms with a Zander/Seph lynch besides ~middling reads on some of the players who are on it

 

I love Zander to death but this has been pretty much him in all roles since his absurd lololol powerbus of Talya in Belicheck and Seph has trailed off

 

Key's been very paranoid of them in hydra chat and I'm probably mildly biased reading that slot and I accept that about myself

During the only wolf game of Zander's I have ever read he was pretty much in line with his now usual villager play-style (high post content, repetitive, etc.) but in that specific game 85% of his gameplay was him bussing one of his partners

 

Keep in mind I'm one of those terrible "meta" players who tries to understand how individual people think and get in their head to see if what they say is genuine or not 

 

 

So what you're saying is that Zander's meta is the same whether he's town or scum, but your plan is to use meta to get a read on him?

I feel like he's driven, enthusiastic and nudging. Some of his posts didn't make sense to me, but that's per norm. I am less twitchy about that when it comes to him. A little spammy, but that's also not unusual for him. If memory serves right, he tends to be a bit more spazzy and erratic as scum. I'm not seeing it so far.
