I think that's a silly generalization and you have to look at the root of what's upsetting someone.  People are more transparent when you get them fired up, and Seph happened to enter that game with a real chip on his shoulder so it was easy to exploit it and extract his alignment.

Meh.  I guess I just find emo so easy for people to fake, especially once people start saying "oh, he's being emo, he must be town".  I've seen it used way too often as a scum tactic - and when it actually is a townie, they are usually sucking so much air out of the thread that I'd prefer to just take the chance of mislynching them and get back to solving from among the remaining players if they end up being town.

 

But that's just me talking (and, I guess, JN; do not pull any emo garbage there if you ever want to show your face again ).
