Verbal and Leelou are town, and Tress and Nyn are close enough to treat them as clear.  I'm confident enough with AJ/Cory/Kaylee to not lynch them right now.  Honestly, there's probably one mafia in between the three of them - I should doubt I went 3/3 at the start of the game by just naming the inactives.

Weren't you town reading Wombat?

Get off the sidelines, bruh.

Legit though Wombat, I think you could be a wolf this game. I would appreciate you trying to assuage that impression.

Yeah.  But somebody has to be mafia, so until I figure out who I'm misclearing, the lowest three are mafia.

List some pros and cons on all three?

Random question: Which of you ladies in here know how to change a tire?

Take off the lug nuts before jacking the car up

Very good

That's the lesson I plan on teaching my son one day when I teach him how. I'll make him jack it all the way up first and then try to break the torque.

Anyway - was just wondering because I had to go play super dad and save my girlfriend's day by changing her tire so she could make it to work on time.

I'm here for the next couple hours and have no plans for tonight after work.

I used to fix one of our old cars with my dad.

TLDR Not getting enough from the Sooh-related content to lean either way on Wombat because of his vote. Kaylee made a good point about him jumping on a wagon he'd previously mentioned felt thin and that sticks with me a little, but  on the other hand that was early on and there seems to be a logical reads progression wrt Sooh before this vote.

He goes from null on Sooh (but understanding Nyn's suspicion) when pushed by Darthe, to commenting directly where he doesn't like Sooh's posts and gives reasons even if they're slightly vague: doesn't like self-meta/alignment WIFOM, feels posts are anti-spew, doesn't like emotion without effort. Not sure if the vagueness is scummy or just self-explanatory enough that it didn't need explanation. At one point he suggests directly to Sooh that she channel her frustration into scumhunting which is good advice but I'm not sure Wombat giving it is alignment indicative either way?

But seriously Wombat why have you not directly quoted one of the wolfy Sooh posts and defended her already?

Sooh is null to me atm.  I can see why Nyn didn't like her "soulread" comment and would want to push her for it, but it didn't read as scummy to me.  And I'm not going to defend someone while I'm still catching up.  I will say that as of right now, I don't really like the idea of a Sooh lynch as the wagon feels thin.

This post was early on and makes sense. Tone-wise I'm not sure if he's being honest or playing things deliberately close to his chest.

These are the posts showing not liking Sooh's posts/rational progressing towards a vote:

Hey guys! I'm catching up and on Page 14 atm.

I came into this game very differently than I normally do. I have been playing more games and I'm feeling slightly more confident in giving pushes and nudges to get reactions. I get that you're not used to seeing that from me. That could be hard for anyone to get over that I'm playing so differently. However, if you imagine I'm a wolf, would I not do the most to keep posting the way I have been posting every game up until now? Keep my town game as it were? It would be incredibly stupid of me I think to change my game so much as a first time wolf.

Regarding peeks. IF I was seer and choosing a N0 peek, or even just waiting for a random peek, would I post about it the way I did? If I am seer, will I put my peek directly out there or will I try to make it seem concealed? If I am seer, will I talk about this at all?

Now Darthe, and keep in mind that I'm not fully up to speed since I haven't read all the pages yet. It looked to me in the beginning as though he was way too preoccupied with instructing people how to seer, and at the same time it seemed a bit like in the thread seer hunting. It stood out for me, and I'm waiting to read now if that's what AJ meant with his post early on. I also still have to go back to my previous games with Darthe and see if he had an early town read on me there.

Don't like the self-meta or alignment WIFOM in this post.

Personally I think the wolves may be found in the people giving me an early town read for my posting so far, or those deliberately ignoring me. Think about this logically guys. If I was on a scum team for this particular game, would I not be seer hunting and other wise more interested in clearing myself rather than basically throwing myself under the bus? It's not even taking one for the team in this case, because that should come much later IMO. I was trying to stir things up yesterday to start the game, and I'm still trying to now. You either think I am a really really poor wolf player, and that is rather insulting actually... or you are just locked on me for strange behavior and not many other places to aim at the moment.

I'm going to go back and look at those who have defended me, but one that really stood out was Bewbs team, when Nyn was clearly opposed, then Hallia cleared me and then they both retracted. I think that was pretty strange behavior. It's like Hallia was trying to use TMI to defend me so they would look better after my flip or something.

After conferring with my other half, I will rescind my opinion on Sooh.  I now understand more that she isn't a noobie to be given the benefit of the doubt, or to be defended.

This post is cute.

Wombat also soft-defended me by not mentioning me at all. Looks like he doesn't want to get on a townie lynch. idk about him though. He might just be seeing things differently.

Cass does also have a defense of me which is noteworthy. She did show some progression in her read though.

I note Verbal hasn't mentioned anything yet.

If I do get lynched today, which it looks very much like I will be, at least I want Town to get as many reads out of my demise as possible.

Btw... scum team... you may want to aim elsewhere if you want to hit a seer... or maybe you should aim exactly here.. what do I know...

Cory? I didn't see a response...

[v]Sooh[/v]

Not buying it

Not buying what exactly?

I'm glad at least Kaylee is Town.

I hate this post.  Reads like full-on anti-spew.

I agree with the first one more than the second. Possibly because I haven't fully wrapped my head around the term anti-spew and I'm not sure if it's a label that can be too easily applied.

I apparently lied earlier.. Don't have time to comment on everything that has been said now before I try to get some sleep, but seriously...

You're all tying me down to being a one note player. I'm actively trying to play better and make more pushed, but if the one push that I make is going to haunt me for the rest of the game you're all just going to scare me into being that player who hedges on her reads and posts long catch up posts because she's too damn scared to spar with you in the thread. I HAVE been posting at 2+2 lately, and I was feeling a bit braver in terms of going in and trying to push someone softly to make a read, but with my head fully and thoroughly bitten off I'm just going to stop doing that.

I just pretty much got  discouraged from trying to get better at this. It's entirely possible that this is HORRIBLE villager game, but I have to try and find out what works for me.

I don't know much about what I would look like as a wolf in longer games, but I think my SK game might give an inclination.

and yes, I guess this is another woe is me post... or frustrated villager. Take your pick. Frustrated villager would be the correct one.

People take heat all the time.  If you're actually town, channel that frustration into scumhunting.  Emotion without effort doesn't look very townish to me.

First time around I agreed with the bold but read the entire reply as dismissive since I could somewhat empathise with what Sooh was expressing and felt like calling it AtE may be too easy. This time I read it and see the suggestion that she 'channel that frustration' as a genuine thing. I dunno.

And this is the response to Kaylee:

Wombat- Didn't see a reason for the AJ vote it on Tress. I know it's Wombat but still. In This post you say you're WTL Sooh, yet earlier you didn't like her train and it was a "thin" wagon. What changed? You mention you don't like her AtE and then ask her if she meant gut instead of soul read... make the anti-spew comment and the next comment on her is your WTL. Just seems like up to that point there's things you don't like about how she's posting. Ok i get that. Does that mean you no longer find her wagon thin?

Would put you in the Null pile for now. I tend to have a hard time reading you

I don't like how Sooh hasn't really been trying that hard to fight her wagon and her reads don't make sense to me from a town PoV.  I still don't like some of the votes on Sooh, but those could easily be bus votes.

The bold part makes sense. The rest may be too vague.

@ Wombat - Which votes didn't you like on Sooh's train at the time you responded to Kaylee's question?

Sure.  You've seemed generally interested in solving the game, and you've not been afraid to go against the consensus to make your doubts about strong players known.  I don't really have much of a downside for you, unless you've scummed it up since the flip.

Cory's frustration and confusion seemed legitimate on D1.  You were right to say that he would feel bad killing Sooh if he were mafia, but I think he'd feel worse pushing somebody he really likes if he's town.  Pretty sure he was the runaway leader in posts.  I know he can be a high effort wolf, but convincing tone is hard to sustain.  He might be fooling me again, but I'll gamble that I'm right.

Main reason for trusting Kaylee was she just seemed committed to understanding where people were coming from D1.  The questions she was asking seemed to have a town motivation behind them.  Of the three, she has the biggest knock against her in that I didn't really agree with some of her reads, but nothing was so out of place I can't attribute it to seeing the game differently than me.

Me! Wasn't allowed to sit for licence until I could prove to my parents I could do it myself. Does it matter that I've never changed one cos I have a motorbike instead?

@AJ youscumming on me?

Vote: Sooh

Tone of those posts where she was defending herself is off. She willnow brin up the fact that i always find her scummy.

Torn on this one. The AJ question throws me, but I can actually see TownDice saying all of the bold, and an aggressive early vote on a gut read without first questioning the person he votes is something I accept from TownDice. I 100% accept his reasons for being less active D1. Waiting on more Dice coming through D2.

The question has sort of become a standard thing between Dice and me when we play nowadays. He tends to decide early and quickly where he is with me and then we proceed from there.

Ok. Quick and early Dice I understand as Town. Just to clarify: Him asking you that question is a common part of how he makes his decision?

I know. I'm either super wrong or extremely correct here. And honestly I'm kinda bummed that this is the conclusion that I'm coming to.

But hey, this is Mafia. All's fair in love and war.

I've read Clov's posts and I don't have much to add beyond what I already said. He did have some good posts. In some it felt like he was prodding for the sake of prodding. I'm not sure how I feel about his pushes (ie Cass and dice). Feels a bit too easy. And something about him feels off to me. It bothers me that I can't really articulate this better. The 'tude was kinda weird too, but I might just be pointing it out cause I found it incredibly irritating.

With that said, I have a track record of screwing up and mislynching him as town. So I'd really like to hear other people's take on him. Also I hope Halli will manage to come around after work and voice her concerns, as I know she had some.

I suppose it could be. He doesn't ask me something like that every game - but generally I think Dice will have me sorted somewhere before D1 is over, whether that be town or scum.

I don't fault you for coming to the conclusion.  Other than Dice in the green, I'm not going to object to the reads list you posted earlier.  Did you ever clarify what you're seeing IRT to him?

This is a serious question, and I'm only trying to be half as much of an asshole as it's going to make me sound like.

Do you think it's wrong of me to read the really obvious townies as town?  Or should I push them just to avoid going after the two or three people at the bottom?

We'll pretend like he isn't my peek and I'm not the Seer then and I'll read his ISO and pull the quotes that gave me the impression he was town when I decided to pick him as my cover target D1. Sound good? Gimme a bit.

You guys are all sort of connected through interactions and also placed here based on interactions with other players I am town reading. I'm not saying everyone in that 4 has to be scum, but I think resolving some of those slots will make things more clear to me.

Dice's responses to you and Cory in his last several posts read very much like town!Dice does. Idk - it's a tone thing and typically I read him pretty well.

Clov    THis very well could be cause he annoyed me so im not really gonna follow up on it at this point.

Okay...I can work with this.  Not crazy about the comment with the vote, but I think Town!Dice might actually go with that.  I'll be interested to see how you progress from there.

Is it safe to conclude your POE lynch list would be me/AJ/Wombat, in that order?

From my point of view, some of your obvious townies aren't obvious townies at all. And I can't help but tinfoil when your obvious townies are mostly people that won't be easy to push. It just seems a bit convenient.
