I think Towns that don't pursue truth often die, but on the other hand it is well-advised to not look too deeply unless you have a reason to. I had a reason where it concerns you, and there is a difference between deceit that's handled badly and a lie that does no harm and saves your team.  If you lied, I think you did the former.

2. Depends on you. I don't think pralaya is scum though.

 

3. Not at all likely. You sunk that boat when you started berating anyone who challenged your claim, and being generally destructive to cement it. I think there's a line to be drawn between attracting a night kill, and constructing a fake-claim to hide behind and spread doubt.

In my mind there is a big difference between 'fake' claiming and speaking for your partner. The latter simply cannot be talked out of. So I'll acknowledge your claim with the caveat that if Pralaya comes back and denounces you, then I'll lynch you, but otherwise give you the benefit of the doubt.

Well you are right to question it but you are questioning it for the wrong reason. Alanna was the last person to post before all roles were triggered. There were exactly two people left who hadn't posted. That's right, me and Pral. Tell me a scenario where scum goons win the game by claiming MASONS early in Day 1. If either of us were to be copped, tracked, watched, or whatever and left our homes OR if either of us were killed by an SK or Vig we would both be outed as scum.

 

I'm not going to accept paranoia on our slots. We are confirmed Town by claim and by action [or lack thereof].

 

1. Saying that it's right to question it contradicts your attitude about the whole thing imo. You've been defensive about it from what I've seen so far.

I disagree. I think you guys are the ones splitting hairs/nitpicking. Pral said he didn't do anything thus he was VT. Hally said "or Goon." That isn't simple list making. That's Hally challenging the claim by SUGGESTING that he could also be a goon. That's an important distinction. Scum want to keep as many people in the scum pool as possible for as long as possible.

 

While your last statement is true, isn't it valid to suggest "vanilla" could be goon? This is what I meant about being defensive. Hallia is talking about a possibility in an unknown situation and you're jumping up and demonizing her for it.

 

This whole argument is kinda meh.  Only thing I'm reading into the claim itself atm is that Pral and Yates are unlikely to be w/w.  As far as I'm concerned, it's not scummy to not be clearing you guys, but it would be scummy to go after you and it's borderline anti-town to belabor this much more.  That being said, I definitely see where Yates is coming from on Hallia.  Her tone reads more like she is worried about townies clearing themselves than she is about townies clearing scum.  Thane and Alanna both look fine to me on this.  I think we've just about plumbed this well.

I agree with this completely but being a new player late in the game I'm going to want to give my thoughts on this as I go through it. So apologize for going over it again.

 

I agree that Yates claiming this early is a bad idea. I can't see how it benefits town and it certainly doesn't clear him and Pral.

I don't think Hallia should get so much pressure here over this. The only confirmation is through lynch D1 or NA N1.... deal with it.

On that note, we could clean up this Mason thing. Lynch one. If they're telling the truth, the other one is cleared.

 

While that's true the situation can be more complicated than that. Let's say we lynch one and he flips mason. We've lost one and confirmed the other but entered a situation in which the mafia has to decide to either kill the other mason or shoot into the crowd because they'll be worried about doc protection. We might just end up with two dead masons and nothing to show for it. If the other mason lives to the next day they're not going to be lynched but there's nothing guaranteeing they're going to be helpful in catching the bad guys either. It's not a bad move exactly but more than likely we can find a better candidate to lynch. The mason problem will resolve itself within a few days. 

 

I feel that Yates, and now you are blowing it out of proportion. I have been merely responding. Am I votimg him? I think not.
