Okay, it's probably time I asked. What does tinfoil mean exactly? I've heard the term used but never understood it. 

It's a reference to tinfoil hats which are used/referenced jokingly to keep alien or government from probing your mind.

When someone is wearing a tinfoil hat or tinfoiling it means they are wandering into ideas that are extremely unlikely or even impossible (conspiracy theories).

It's a way of calling someone paranoid.

So you're not going to argue the counter-points, but instead presume my behavior is 'too villagery' to be a villager because I'm playing the game instead of spewing aids.

 

That's not a spin by the way, that's basically what your argument boils down to. Despite making good points, sound logic, and substantive reads, I'm too on point to be a villager. Like I'm obviously trying to find scum and villagers and narrow down the poe so we find a successful lynch. But my op says there's no godfather and I don't want people to tinfoil too hard this game, and the only feesible conclusion drawn is i) there is a godfather and ii) i felt it might be useful to shut down the tinfoil when there are still 10 players left. And this instead of the obvious! What if I just don't want people to tinfoil too hard because when you tinfoil too hard you loose the game! - and I have said this btw, implied, intoned, and outright argued this several times this thread.

 

And I get it you know? I get what your argument could be, but you haven't proven motive. Sometimes scum overcompensate, that's true, but you nor dice have argued that (nor could you succesfully), or even tried anyway. All you say is I could be scum because I'm playing the game in a +ev way. That isn't compelling; that's like saying a villager is scummy because he's too much of a villager!

 

(different story if you could prove my tone was off/logic was bad - but dice let that counterpoint go and decided to comment on my read of him, and you didnt' pick it up again)

If I had to pick i would [v]Dice[/v] because of the contrivances. I think it's nteresting how long Dice took to answer, what he answered of mine, and how he went about it. Like, if he's a villager, I don't know what he's doing and I can't picture it very easily. It's way too sudden for Dice to be tunneling anyone, but he obviously is in a very concerted way.

 

 

 

As to Lily, she basically ignored everything I said when she says 'if that's the best you got...' like it were some sort of challenge. Sequence in Spoilers.

If she didn't understand what I meant, some alternative, better, questions would have been what material did Dice miss, what did he pick that was out of context, and maybe what was extra-speculative about his case, but either the nature of scum hunting is lost on her or she doesn't care to hunt scum and would rather ignore logic and instead slander.

 

After thinking about it some I think they're both scum or one of them is anyway. In my time on other forums I've found I have a good feel for the thread and the people in it, and what is and isn't possible. So in that context, I think the chances there are two people this incompetent at the same time in one 10-person thread is very low, lower than the chances of scum tag-teaming.  So 2 or 1 of them is scum, and it's probably 2.

I´m sure Sili is town. I have played with him a few times but unless he has changed his play style in the last weeks this is townSili. 

 

That doesn´t mean that I will just follow him. Often when Sili is town he posts a lot and a lot of it doesn´t make sense to me. I don´t think it´s because of the language but because Sili seems to think in a totally different way from me. I just can´t follow. I think others feels the same way, which I think leads to Sili getting frustrated. That is how I see it, might not be true.

 

Sili, I know Red allows way more than me (all mods do :D) but I don´t think you will make any friends by calling them incompetent. Things like that upsets many here and irritated townies don´t play better. It´s something that gets in the way between them and the game. Again, just the way I see it but I think it´s a good advice. 

 

Now I will go back and read stuff and see what I actually think of this so far. My initial thought was that Nolder got townie points as well as Kaylee. I´ll see if it looks the same when I re-read.

It's a low population basic game, so I assume there's no godfather.

 

If there is, it should be listed as a possibility in the set up since the existence of one drastically effects how the game will run.

 

And based on what I know, a Godfather would be imbalanced. The point of a seer is to clear villagers and you can't clear villagers when half the wolves will come up as town.

 

Some people consider gf a basic role. I would never have it in a small game but others will. We usually don´t list possible roles in games. I think you are making assumptions because  you are playing on other sites with different strategies.

The fewest person-roster I've ever seen a gf on is 13 people and 2 wolves. I think it's possible there's a gf here upon further consideration, but I still think it's a fringe case and I would need significant evidence (like spew from an actual wolf) to reconsider.

It's more benign, like i'll make counterpoints and arguments and say thinks that I mean, and whatever I say won't be taken seriously and without any apparent attention to detail she votes me.

I agree that we shouldn´t count on one unless we get some "evidence" later in the game. It´s hard to find evidence for a gf but I think you know what I mean.

That´s great. I went to a party last weekend with my bf. First time in a long time that we were away without the kids. I got sick and have to leave the party at 11 so we didn´t get much joy from that anyway. :(
