2. Darthe is a D2 at the earliest read for me. Plus, he's kind of slunk off into the background given all this other stuff. So I guess I'd need to go back. I don't think he's in the D1 lynch pool, anyway. So I can always revisit if I have to. One thing I can tell you is that the post he made where he called me 52% Town or whatever is a pretty classic Darthe Town post. I actually pointed out where he made an almost verbatim post in the other game about me and we were both Town. But that's shooting from the hip, without a ton of context, and coming from a completely egocentric perspective so grains of salt and all that.

 

I saw that Rags posted this already in his Yates-spew analysis but I already had it quoted so I'm going to shamelessly 'me too' on the conclusion.

 

Specifically with the wording here, I get the vibe Yates wanted to have Darthe as an early town lean but still leave wiggle room later on to potentially push him if the thread took off in that direction.

 

I'm completely fine with a Sili lynch, as previously indicated he's in my bottom two.

Not a huge fan of this vote when I was reading through again.

 

As of right now the biggest connections I see with Yates irt other players linking him are with Tress and DPR. Tress with an earlier post that I showed where she lists a team of Dice/Yates/Despot which struck me as off. With DPR he made some arguments D1 linking Despot to Yates with the seer cover spiel and how Despot spoke up for Yates. I could see this as him connecting Despot to one of his known scumbros but what throws me off is Yates's counter-push in DPR's direction. I think DPR looks villagery from the start of D2 but I don't want to rule out the distancing act too soon.

 

 

Other stuff that I saw reading along that I wanted to comment on but got too lazy to quote since I was reading through 30+ pages:

 

Rereading Kivam's explanation about the SK being a priority actually makes more sense to me now that I've looked at it again. The logic and the math behind it are all very clean and I understand the premise - but I'm still a bit hesitant because 1) that sort of post is more based on mafia theory and strong wolves can use that sort of discussion to look good and 2) I still think hunting the SK (specifically) is a pro-wolf agenda even with the presence of Vigs in the game that still pose a danger to them. That said - I can follow his explanations about his two potential suspects and why he came to that conclusion. So, if you're a wolf here, carry on and continue finding that SK for the village.

 

 

@Cass - I still don't understand why you thought it would be a good idea to claim in that situation. Knowing Manbat, I'm hoping he didn't encourage it. For one, if you are a villager, you've now made yourself a lower priority NK and have shrunk the pool of potential PRs even more for the anti-Town players to target.

A Vig that can shoot only every other Night probably doesn't want to miss that opportunity imo and a 1x-Vig wolf DEFINITELY isn't going to waste their shot.

The only reason it ever makes sense for an SK to holster is to remain hidden. As the setup is open, that's out of the question. The SK needs everyone dead. Zero chanve of them not trying to lower numbers.

Nyn suggesting the Leelou NK points to one of the old timers is villagery for her, I think. From my experience she's kinda angle-shooty like that when she's town although normally I kinda frown on that sort of speculation because it gives me TMI vibes.

 

I remember some spat with Barm/Kivam about the SK and thought it was wolfy of Kivam to mention specific players as possible SKs because that imo more aligns with a mafia mindset where they are hunting the SK as a threat to them as well.

 

Im thinking that was a noob mistake that she didnt actually realize was a mistake

 

 

What's the general opinion on Tress atm btw?

 

I'm a little put off by how she is defending Despot vs DPR on pg 75.

See, despite the patented Des Tunneling, this is one of the points he's made against you that really does continue to make complete sense.  You keep characterizing his "seer cover" explanation as DES bringing it up to explain Yates' behavior as a town move, but the actual context doesn't support that.  Despo didn't just "bring it up" - he was specifically asked what he thought about Yates' claim and clearing of Dice, and he kinda had to bring up "seer cover" to explain why he was disregarding the claim entirely.   Blame it on Dice, if anyone, and unless you think Yates, Dice and Despo are mafia together and planned that little exchange behind the scenes, I do not think it means what you think it means."

 

The bolded/colored bit is what bugs me the most. Could just be hindsight bias on my part for seeing this now with knowledge of Yates's alignment but it strikes me in a bad manner.

I've got some ideas brewing in my head at the moment and I might actually start to reconsider the above quoted post from Yates irt Darthe. It could very easily be Yates acting wishy washy to avoid connection at a later part of the game if Darthe were to be revealed mafia. If I recall correctly, Leelou was pretty suspect of Darthe D1 so there's some potential motive in her death there. This might also fit with a scum!Bat discrediting Despot's push on Darthe by saying it was predictable. I'll articulate on this more later but it's an idea that has come to mind recently as I'm mulling over the player list - and frankly - I don't feel particularly strong about anyone being a wolf.

 

I'd like to see some activity from players like Krak and Hallia so I can flesh them out a bit more. I remember liking some of Krak's posts but some of his suspects/angles look bad in hindsight now that we have some coroners to cross examine with.

I think there's a good chance the town N1 vig holstered.  Town has good numbers this game, but the SK, extra wolf shots and JK instead of doc mitigate that.  Personally, I would have holstered or shot Pral, the latter being a decision I'm starting to think I would have regretted.

 

Also, idk what Tommy or POG standards are, but when I mod, I generally don't allow my SK's to holster (the standard definition of the role is compulsive iirc) and even if I were an SK with that option, I wouldn't consider using it until late game.

Pral jumps up to tentative town - based on Despo's Yates Spew Analysis in part, but also because I don't see Scum!Pral dropping his push on me after realizing Yates never mentioned me in his reads list.  

 

DPR still looks sketchy to me.

 

Rags still looks pretty townie.

 

Little less sure of Thane.

 

I need to re-read and recalibrate, and tomorrow will be a fine, fine day for that.  Tonight is for unwinding from a long, stressful week.  Expect more activity from me for the next two days.
