2. Darthe is a D2 at the earliest read for me. Plus, he's kind of slunk off into the background given all this other stuff. So I guess I'd need to go back. I don't think he's in the D1 lynch pool, anyway. So I can always revisit if I have to. One thing I can tell you is that the post he made where he called me 52% Town or whatever is a pretty classic Darthe Town post. I actually pointed out where he made an almost verbatim post in the other game about me and we were both Town. But that's shooting from the hip, without a ton of context, and coming from a completely egocentric perspective so grains of salt and all that.

thing is i don't actually approve of lynching dpr today. so i don't know if it's in my moral compass to vote for him.

 

i would however appreciate it if i didn't die today, so from that angle, all the good will to anyone to votes someone not me. :biggrin:

I got some good vibes and bad vibes feom Darthe. Sometimes bis slot is clear for me D1 and i start tinfoiling later. Thwn it turns out i was right originally. Something about his tone/logix. But i dunno what.

My bad. He said I was 62% Town.

Oh yeah I saw that, that was more recent.

 

And eh that doesn't really do much to change my read on him. Seemed like could be backtracking on his part. Did he actually show a progression in thread for shifting from scum to town on you?

 

And why would he be coy about the Kivam thing as town?

I don't think it's too hard tbh.  There's no 100% "Darthe would do this as town but not as scum" or vice versa but as town I generally am more okay with dying and am willing to tackle things that strike me even if they are unpopular or may look bad on me.  Scum me needs to preserve myself so I might emulate that but I won't do nearly as much.  It's a cover game where I can't take the risks town me does.  Also, according to Tommy I don't have fun as scum but do as town.  I think that's mostly true except when I get overwhelmed as town.  Read with that in mind and you should be able and tell this game since I am more open than I generally would be if I was mafia.

Actually yes.  I don't consider my statements incomprehensible etc but I get sort of sidetracked and tend to do on thread streams of consciousness rather than carefully weighing out how to present myself.  I think it's more genuine so yeah, it's fair to say that my mood affects how my posts look.

I would agree with you if he was accusing her of being coached. He didn't accuse her of simply being coached. He said her scum team was writing her posts for her. He literally called her a "puppet" at one point. I'm keenly aware of this because he accused ME of authoring her posts.

 

 

Same diff. Again, Dawn got accused of the same when she was on my scum team. They said she didn't sound like herself. Using big words and such. And some were wondering if someone was feeding her posts. It's not a slight, imo. It's thinking outside the box. I could see how it would annoy her, if it weren't true. But beyond that *Shrugs*

 

I'm not saying I agree with DPR. While I AM getting a more experienced feel from her posts, it's possible she just has a very good mentor. 

 

I don't know, this just seems like an overreaction to me.

 

 

Or she's just very, very good.  I was writing posts like that in my first game, too, no mentor, no scum team (was town, popped Sirayn and a teammate D1, was very very proud :cool: ), just a natural facility for logic, argument, and writing. In fact, I'm willing to bet Cass has all of that in spades; if not, then unless both Dice and Yates are scum on a team with Cass, I would assume that at least one of the two of them would be wondering very vocally where she suddenly developed these new-found abilities.

 

I have no idea whether her content is accurate - I know it's not on me, and Wes is not playing at all out of character for him as either scum or town, so while he could be scum, I have literally no reason to think so at the moment.  But the idea that there's no way a new player could get to Cass' results on her own ... it just isn't true, as I know from experience.  It isn't common, but it happens. 

 

So ... she could be scum getting fed content from teammates, could be scum getting this content on her own, could be town getting fed content from a mentor or could be town getting this content on her own.  Since it's a null tell either way (coached/uncoached and puppeted/unpuppeted fit equally well as scum or town), I'm going to do her the honor of assuming that, town or scum, she's playing on talent, not puppetry or coaching. 

 

Suggest you all do the same, if only to save the egg on your faces when - if she's as good as I think she is, and can be - she's routinely kicking all of your asses in future games.

Yeah but I didn't get to do that until I accumulated a lot of rep and was expected to perform in such a way that it was suffocating.

Sup all.

 

I'm unfortunately back to power skimming mode (how is it that there are like five posts in the US evening time and like 15 pages when I get back to the thread), though this afternoon is free-ish.

 

I am pretty content to lynch Pralaya -- I'm sorry, but if you can only catch up at 20 pages per day, you're probably never going to be caught up, and if you're never here to post then we're never ever going to be able to clear you, and I'd just as soon pick the scab now.  (And yes, I know that sounds mildly hypocritical since I haven't posted much, and no I don't care.)

 

I am, however, more content to lynch DPR at the moment.  One thing that has struck me through all of his posting is that, as far as I can tell, he seems pretty unwilling to actually clear villagers -- which is something it's usually easier to do than to condemn wolves.  (Significant village points to Darthe for calling this out a few pages back.)  Some people like to play like that and end up with a 12 player wolf list in a game with five wolves, so whatever, but more than that is there doesn't really seem to be a focus on actually deeply caring about anyone in particular being a wolf, it feels more like a "let's take jabs at people for the purpose of discrediting them" stance than a "I'm really interested in these thoughts".

I've preempted Des tunneling me several times because, as I said in the beginning, he does it a lot.  I don't get what would sketch you out about that.  Des tunnels me a lot.  Des is wrong a lot.  The two are inclusive facts of my experiences with him in mafia games.
