I know that, Monster. I didn't even call you a hypocrite or even mean to insinuate that. My point is that I was hoping you'd be more understanding of my concern since you had addressed a similar concern as a moderator. If Tom flips scum? THEN I might start to wonder more about the motivation behind the change in "opinion." And I think that's a valid concern.

When cory is town and is being snarky or seems emotional, the underlying mood is sardonic arrogance. He's kind of a dick because he knows he's right. He's more patronizing and will look down on people who he thinks are being stupid. That was showing through a little bit here today and made it easy for me to give him an early green read.

 

When cory is scum and is being snarky or seems emotional, the underlying mood is forged bravado. It's a fake arrogance because he knows you're right but wants you to feel bad about it so you give up. Here him being patronizing isn't with the intent to teach, it's to harm.

 

If you look for the underlying subconscious mannerisms between "strict headmaster (town)" and "television bully personality (scum)", you'll pick up on what I'm talking about.

 

Town Cory is like a pissed off Bill Nye, scum Cory is like a pissed off Glenn Beck.

I appreciate the clarification and I can see some of the arrogance that you are talking about. My biggest issue, with his response, though, is that Cory knows me. He and I have had many many discussions in DTs about playstyle here at DM vs. how he plays and also about how I play. He knows my personality and has on several occasions called me a “top tier human being.” So, it was a bit jarring/suspicious for me to see him calling me out for something on thread that he KNOWS I would not do intentionally.

 

But his statement regarding lessening his posts so players like Lee, Pral, and BFG can have more of an input reads hella townie to me. It’s obviously not something that he has to do, nor need mention. Couple that with the way Hallia has been playing and they are heavily in my town grouping.

silli  perhaps try going the other way. i actually tend to make sure to pay a lot of attention to the alliances   but i try to do it with a critical eye.  not sure how good i am at it but there it is i guess
