Rags - it's like this:

Tommy claimed Beloved Princess

Arsis claimed Watcher

Arsis claimed he watched Tommy

Arsis claimed he saw no one visit Tommy [this I'd believe without a watcher result, fyi]

Des claimed Vig

Des claimed he shot at Tommy last night

Des wasn't seen shooting Tommy AND Tommy is alive so Des is claiming he was RBed by scum [because Town RB would have never blocked Des]

The interesting wrinkle here is that Tommy could not have been the doc protected scum target [as he claims to believe] and lived if Des ALSO shot at him as a doc protect would only prevent one shot.

??? I think this might be another case where DM does it differently. So far as I know, a doc protect usually protects the target against any kill shots. Unless I'm misunderstanding you here.

Basically one of Tommy or Des is scum.  I think Des would be taking an unnecessary risk as scum exposing himself like this.  So Tommy is FAR more likely to be scum in this situation.  The math is pretty simple.

I don't know I'll mull it all over for a while. There are certainly some thoughts to put together.

I'm feeling the same. I want to think things through and give everyone a chance to weigh in before we move on a lynch. It does seem like lynching Tommy or Despo is the move to make today, we should get scum one way or another.

Unless Despo is a townie lying to get Tommy lynched. Which, you know, is completely within the realm of possibility for him.

Seriously? Any mods in here that can verify?

##UNVOTE

@Mod - in the event that there was a doc protect on a slot and that slot was targeted by TWO different killing factions, would that slot live?

When have you ever seen it not be this way?

Honestly, I think I have always seen a doc protect guard against any kill shots. Unless I've forgotten a lot more than I thought when I was on hiatus.

I know some people hate this. But, I'm having fun right now. I'm not sure who to believe. I've never actually played with scum tommmy. Does anyone know if he is in his scum range?

Would des lie as town to push a lynch?

Re: Despo - Yes. I have seen him do it.

As far as Tommy... I don't know. My understanding, and my experience, is that he's very hard to read as scum.

The answers are, respectively "yes but no" and "yes but I wish the answer was no".

In lieu of thinking things through I would rather lynch Desp. I would feel better about it if a vig counter claimed, but somehow I doubt that will happen.

Uh huh. And according to you I'm 100% guaranteed scum so this is a VURRY surprising post from you

Every game? I mean, it's not something that happens very often so it's not like I can point to a game. Plus, I wouldn't even know until I was in a dead thread.

But here's how a doc is supposed to work:

A Doctor is a role that targets a player at Night to protect that player from a single kill made during that Night. They are not told if their protection was successful. Protection from a single kill means that if multiple players try to kill someone, they will not be saved by one Doctor's protection.

Again, according to Verb, most of these roles were taken from MS. That's why I linked to it. Though he did say that self protect kind of crept in by mistake and has become their spin on it.

You went down to 95. Be happy.

Tommy is at the edge of his scum range. If he's scum he's playing it very well in respect to tone in my opinion.

Basically. It would have to be an approach I haven't rried yet and I'm not sure I can emulate. I go for the things I can emulate. I don't know how to fake this blend of disgusted and apathetic and constantly being one-upped by disbelief but not quite willing to simply roll over and die.

@Alanna: Traditionally, doc protects against a single shot. I have seen some DM mods do it differently however, like you said

Yeah, any game I've run here, or seen run, the Doc protected from all kills, except a strongarm type.
