I want to see if Pral's reads change at all once he gets fully caught up. I do find it a weird list, but given that he was probably going through it fast and is only halfway through, I'm not calling scum on him yet. I want to wait until he's caught up to really form more of an opinion about him.

FWIW - there was never a point in this game where that reads list would have made sense to me. Take a look at my catch up posts for reference. Part of the utility of those posts is that I don't have to reread the entire thread in order to know what was going on in the game in context.

That was the game where people REALLY started hated me, IMHO.

I hated you, for sure. And yes, I was the 3rd lock clear. LOL

Oh that game... can we never speak of it again?

I actually had Thane on my null to town list.

Did you see Csarmi's post? He's right. The fonts are different. Try copy and pasting from a QT into here then hit the little toggle to see the code that comes up. Quicktopic uses "Lucida Grande" font. If you copy and paste something from here you see the default is "helvetica."

i said before in my little self-chat, that i'm not voting yet due to 2 reasons:

- EOD play can change things in my null list, so someone from there might get voted

- should i vote now, and stay offline, i might park a vote on someone where my vote would go to waste.

This may seem awefully scummy and just an excuse to hammer someone, i am totally aware of that. I am just careful when voting.

Verbal, I do think you have some scum equity purely for being detached from this game.

Fair enough, but most of that activity occurred over the weekend when I'm not around.  I know that is an excuse, but it has been consistent for me for years.  It put me in major-catchup mode and I can't play in real-time.  That said, skimming isn't working.  I'd rather play in real-time, so I'm considering finishing my skim to identify my final #1 town and sheep them for now.  Thoughts?  Good?  Bad?

What bugs me about Verbal is that while I get that he hasn't finished up catching up yet... I would have expected more than just one scum lean...... and a town lean that is inferred from the one scum lean he has. Like no one else seemed scummy or townie? I mean even if he only read 50 pages so far I'd expect him to have more than that.

Skimming sucks - I'm not able to really digest info and recall it later on.....I don't think I'll ever try to skim again in a game.  Puts a major limitation on scumhunting (or even townhunting).

You're going on ignore for the rest of the game so I don't have to read the nonsense you spew anymore.

If I do that with Salami, I might be able to easily catch up!!!  hehehe

Dude, if you soft claim that PR any harder you're gonna give Des a stroke.

Whenever people PR hint that hard I actually assume they might be trying to draw a NK

Subtlety it is not

If he actually IS a PR and gets shot he should feel like crap for eternity

I don't think it's that bad. Also thought I was being more subtle about it.

If you were, this probably wasn't the best post to make.

Who's the GOAT tone reader here? Hm? Is it you guys?

I laughed.

OH WAIT NO THAT'S RIGHT IT'S ME! I'M THE GOAT TONE READER! I'M THE ONE THAT CATCHES PEOPLE BASED ON INDIVIDUAL POSTS!

If that's the case your vote should DEFINITELY be on Thane, he's had by far the scummiest tone of anyone in the game

says the non-goat reader?

That's a pretty big claim for somebody who hasn't played on this site before, and presumably hasn't played with Des before.  Also, since you've only played a couple games, how can you possibly have ANY basis of whether or not Tom's a great tone reader to make a comparison to others?

More specifically, I'd like to see Clov respond to this:

I'm confused as to why Salami followed Clov and then unvoted before Clov clarified what he was trying to do.

I followed Clov cause i thought we saw the same thing there. Then i read back up and it turned out i remembered wrong.

Then came Clov and explained he didn't see that either.

Throwing kindle on fire are we?

Really, I haven't seen much of anything.  In addition to what Nyn already said about our conversation yesterday, she should be more than willing to confirm that I told her I associate Leelou being snarky with her scum game, since I saw a lot of it in ABBA.  Nyn told me she's that way regardless of alignment.  Probably true, but I have minimal experience with Town!Leelou.  But I've seen a little bit of it here.

Content wise, I couldn't even begin to form a read on her.  She has a couple posts of gameplay, but it's nothing I can really analyze her from.

Overall, I think it's perfectly reasonable for me to have SOME concern about her.  Again - serious push worthy?  Not at all.  But enough to make me try a move.

So, you already know I'm town? Trying to get me to blow up to get a mislynch on me, but Nyn ruined it for you?

He seems to have completely ignored it.  And considering that it was something I was very curious about earlier, I find that disquieting.

I don't even remember seeing Leelou POST this.  I thought I answered you, though (or somebody that asked about it).  Whatever.

Leelou - The last statement ISN'T about you being town.  It's about snarkiness.  After the conversation between Nyn, you, and me I figured you wouldn't be to eager to participate early on if you rolled scum again.  You did have a decent amount of posting early in the game.  That would suggest town.  The tone of your posts slightly reminded me of when I played with you as scum though, so I was trying to elicit a response.

Also, if Verbal could catch up and get us a TPS report, that would be great.

Full catch up not happening, but I'm skimming like a mofo.

I still see Salami as my #1, but that is mostly because I never saw anything resembling a good response to him following Clov.

Speaking of Clov, he's my #1 town, which is admittedly tied to my read on Salami.

Yeah, yeah, associative reads are bad. If you guys hadn't vomitted all over the thread this weekend, I'd be in real-time with you all.

/grumpy

Associate reads aren't awful, but where is this one coming from?  The D1 stuff with Leelou?  How him and I have argued back and forth?  You said he never gave a good response following me....I said a lot of things towards Csarmi this game.  So have a lot of other people.

You can blame the activity if you want, but if anything, shouldn't that have given you MORE to form reads from?

Not only is your #1 scumread a probable townie, but you've left yourself open to flipping your #1 townread after Salami flips villa.

You're nuts. Salami is a probable townie TO YOU. And no, I never said my Clov read would flip.....you are putting words in my mouth.

I followed Clov's explanation afterwards and I see what he was trying to do. If Salami isn't scum, I'm still town on Clov. But my initial read on Clov comes based on my read of Salami.

This sounds more like you putting words in Tom's mouth than he is your's.  He never said you said it WOULD flip - he said you left yourself open, which you kind of did.  If you're largely reading me as town from your read on Csarmi, it seems to follow that you being wrong on him would influence your read on me.  It might not change it, but I don't see how you don't factor it in.

1st red bold:  yes

2nd red bold:  no - if you think he's scum and I think he's scum, and I'm thinking you're town for some of the same logic (that you used in your explanations and he blindly followed before knowing)......and he's town, then I look at that as we're both wrong on him.  It does not influence my read on you.  I'm not sure if that made sense, but that is how I think of it.

I can accept that explanation.  You saying it was associative made me think you were townreading me in a "Clov can't be bussing Csarmi here" sense.

Not gonna quote it but Wombats post taking about Thane's weird conversation with himself post is exactly how I felt

Obv could be distancing but regardless, was my feelings exactly

It is known? Really? Funny considering I've been on the site for... well... lets say a long time.... and I never had it happen to my posts even once.

But hey.... since it's known.

If you copy the player list from the OP for example it will have weird formatting.

Fwiw I think this is what happened- it didn't have the blueish background copied over from when you c/p from a QT, it had the offwhite background from when you c/p from another post on DM and paste it in regular mode instead of edit mode or w/e

And while yes I think this line of questioning is normally not that reliable, I DO find it peculiar that Thane wouldn't have just cleared it up quickly by saying he c/ped from the player's list on OP, which very much looks like what happened (the odd background format started around when he first listed other player's names

Just one moar reason to lynch him imo

It was- Verb's wot was kosher, yours was not as it makes it VAIR tough to scan through while on mobile. Doesn't take long to remove the bits that aren't relevant to what you're saying

I gave Lee townie brownies for that specific post if you keep reading. You should get caught up first.

Okay. Going back to our old "mindmeld" conversation? This is a much more legitimate thought than the other examples brought up. It's how I have Des blue.

* I'm the only player who has any experience with Sili. This is his third game I believe. What's out of character for him so far is his comfort level -- he appears cockier and more comfortable playing here than on his home forum and I'm having trouble understanding why. I've never seen him be mafia before, but I know he really wanted to roll scum. He's soft claimed a PR pretty hard.

That actually makes me wanna vote him almost more than anything else right now

All the NOT SUBTLE AT ALL PR hints seem like him trying to breadcrumb a PR claim later if he catches too much heat

Really hope it's not that he just didn't think it would be okay to be that obvious about having a PR if he really is a town PR

Posted

Despo you will never learn. Try to play a few turbos on PoG and you'll see why PR cover ia useful.

We shouldn't lynch Thane today. He may just be town there... I wouldn't say his game looks similar to the last one.
