if you love to read, speed reading is a very valubale skill, I read some, but I actually like audio books better, cause then I don't have to read, and I can just sit and be lazy. :D

I read at the speed I'm most comfortable with at the time. If I read 800 words a minute, my vivid imagination tends to go out right out the window.

Why would someone take a speed reading class? I read entirely to fast as it is! My problem is trying to drag a book out rather than crushing it like an alky on their first beer of the day! :lol:

Heli, I'm not taking classes, I have a book here, that teaches you how to speed read in 6 weeks. And what you need it for, is reading stuff you need to but don't want to read. It helps you get better comprehension, as well as read faster.

I just read at whatever speed I want, and also the situation depicts the speed. If I want to sit down for a while and read, I read slower so I can take everything in. If I am getting to a good bit, I usually read faster! However, I do skim read if I am looking for something in particular.

yeah, its boring to read KoD in a day.. I wish I was a slower reader.. I read the latest HP in a day too.. I was angry with my self when it ended for not reading slower.. lol

I generally (when reading a new book) read each page twice... don't ask me why... maybe I'm just going for complete understanding... :?

Yah, I don't TRY to read that fast, it just happens! I'm slower the second (and third... fourth... possibly fifth) time I read something. I'm not as eager to find out what happens, so somehow that lets me slow down.

Speed reading in six weeks? How much time in one day does the book say you need to allocate yourself Goldy? I think it's a pretty harsh way to go really mate, everybody learns to read faster the more they read full stop. Personally I'd just stick with the stuff I like to read. :?
