Nobody discussed my Nyn-Hallia spew analysis other than Rand saying it's not clearing for me.

 

So let's discuss it.

I disagree. Your interpretations of your own spew look forced and I would only ever anticipate anti-spew between you and Nyn which is why it did jack to my read of you. IMO you are the far best consideration for a tinfoil in this game and your links to clov lately are odd, especially in light of the double hammer. That's cocky scum play or biased town/scum play. I doubt significantly that both of you are town.

If they are both mafia, then I don't think Tommy and Clov would have had much to gain by hammering before DT arrived, especially with one mafia already down. That would have just implicated them both further. I can see one of them being maf and doing so, but that was far too blatant for both of them, especially for players like them.

 

I know you all think that characters don't matter, and nowadays they don't as much, but think about this. There really were only a couple named baddies in the Tron film. Sark, Dillinger, Sark's toadie, and the MCP. Unless you count the generic Warrior/Guard characters (neon red storm trooper types) then I'd say there are likely only 2 mafias left. And they are going to do what they can to distance themselves.

I'm surprised only Mynd noticed this. Both TG and NB immediately said "hah you're both scum!"

 

Something I don't understand is Rand saying I should protect between Darthe and TG last night. Even cursory understanding of the game should make it clear there's only been two nights (and therefore two viewings).

Lol I never really thought of that.  If I ever get guilty as cop, I just kind of out it right away.  That's a good idea though.

We have 12 players. Most likely three scum. That's sharp. Two mislynch Max. Totally worth to one vs one trade here as scum. Especially with Darthe under the gun.

Yea I have a hard time buying.

  

Darthe played as I would expect a cop too, making some cases and so on, but not playing so much where he would attract attention and possibly have to claim to not get lynched.  Hence he was on my list of people avoiding attention, but it turned out he was cop instead of mafia.

 

Secondly, Nyn was also on my list of suspects, so even if she was towntelling, it's not that hard to believe she is mafia.

 

Thirdly, I don't think mafia would sacrifice Darthe for something like this.  Although Darthe was on my list and others, no one had really moved against Darthe.  As mafia, most other players have seen more attention then Darthe, so it would have been better for them to be sacrificed for something like this than Darthe.

 

Fourthly, town has higher numbers than mafia.  That pretty much means that a 1:1 trade is almost always in town's favor.

It's a good trade because once you see my flip, you got Darthe in the bag, which means one scum less to worry about.

Also, how has no one commented on how Nyn's reaction comes from the book How to be Mafia chapter What to do when a cop guilties you. She literally just asserts her role PM says shes town, says she'll die to give town what they need, and doesn't say much beyond that.

 

 

What am I supposed to say? I can't logically argue a lie. As long as the cop doesn't CC Darthe, there isn't really much I can do. And since I don't want the cop to CC him, I'm not going to push for it.

There are only 2 people that haven't responded, Drunk Tank and Tommy.  I doubt that Tommy is the cop with the attention grabbing way he has played, and even at L-1, there are only two people left to hammer, since everyone else has already been confronted with Darthe's claim and had a chance to vote.  The probability of one of the 2 people coming in and hammering and the second one being the cop cc is negligible.  But I'll play along.  Until one of them pokes their head in, I'll [unvote]

 

 

 

Changed my mind after going through it again. Rand looks okay here. I thought he was going for the over the top "look how townie I am for believing the cop!" play while rushing the hammer because I remembered Nyn responding to him specifically in a spot where she should have clammed up, but she talked to a few people so this wasn't as garish as I thought.

Well, I agree on your conclusion.  The fact that you're not drawing any alignment from that makes me think you don't care.

 

My read on Tom is the same.  I'm interested in hunting scum.  The town did not support me yesterday and thought it was best to hunt elsewhere today.  Would you prefer I just avoid the game altogether and stay on Tom?  Not really my style to play like that.

 

I care.  Hoping the townie has the better argument cause we need to resolve that conflict after we lynch Nyn.

Yeah, NB/Clov is it for me but if I am wrong about NB I think you fit in his place and if I am wrong about Clov I think Mynd goes there.  Tinfoil says Mynd/You but that is ridiculous even to me.  Still, the choice of NK so far is definitely... awkward for most situations.

Clov/NB definitely possible or even likely. The way they both attacked me in the same way when I came back yesterday felt insanely aligned but then I consider how Clov and I cross-posted to vote DT and that could also look w/w... so maybe coincidences are coincidences. Meanwhile, I have to consider how Nyn was defensive with me and defensive with Clov and how she barely interacted with NB and think if she treated me that way, then it makes sense she would treat Clov that way and NB the opposite way if they're v/w respectively.

 

So either this game is really easy and NB is trolling scum, or we're almost guaranteed to lose because this game has players that tend to be scum if they're alive in late game, particularly me, and players who are difficult to read like Mynd and players who are new to each other.

 

As an aside, the odd NKs you mentioned may point to players who don't have meta knowledge of this group or players who prefer fancy play.

You and Mynd could be a pair with intense distancing, but it seems far far more likely that NB would be a wolf with someone than you two being wolves together. So NB and Clov, or NB and X? You guys saw the posts I pulled between Clov and Nyn; that's a very unusual reaction Nyn had to catching heat for voting Clov if they're w/w. So who else fits with NB? Been thinking about Rand's rage vote on me, apparently using a situation from another game as a reason. 

 

At first, I chose not to respond to it and fight the urge to OMGUS vote.

 

Then, I ate an orange.  Tasted good, but then my hands were sticky.  And not stick in the fun way.

 

Washed my hands.  Dried them.   Thought about the good ole days. 

 

But then that nagging suspicion crept back into my noggin. 

 

Why would Rand need to go to such lengths to justify his vote in this game?  Sure, day 1 randomness is random but.....he placed his vote on a player he felt no one would question his motives on.  Why....that would require a preset guilty conscience BEFORE he posted. 

 

So.....@Rand.  Why the need to OVER justify your reason for voting me? 

 

Not liking Rand's very reserved and casual response to my question. I was expecting more....Dragon......and got a tame puppy instead.

 

This was Mynd's initial suspicion/read, I suppose.  In case anybody is wondering, this was Rand's response -

 

"For people who weren't in the game, its a slight pet peeve when people vote someone like that without explanation, I wasn't in the game so I hound them on it, and then I get called out for it."

 

I'm not sure why Mynd has any issue with that.  Nice and calm, nothing really worth noting.  Let's keep that in mind.

Slight FoS on TG for...trying to work towards a lynch.  He would then vote TG in his very next post without saying another word.  When he gets an answer from TG, (basically saying that TG doesn't want another game filled with 100 pages of spam so he wants to start with activity), Mynd replies with this.

Another game with 100 pages of D1 spam posts will be soul destroying for me, so I'd rather get this game kick started and at least push some gameplay. 

 

 

...and now the guilty conscience explanation. 

 

 

How is that possibly a reasonable response to what TG said?  Now in the first eleven pages, Mynd has thrown light suspicions at two different players for attempting to play the game.  When they respond to his questions - both of whom gave pretty decent answers IMO - he spins it in a way that makes them look bad, rather than accepting it and moving on.

 

He then cases TG with post 267 (linking, rather than quoting due to quote limits).  Recap of the arugment

 

-Lenlo and TG engaged in light posting D1

-Lenlo voted TG as a joke to start the game

-TG gives DT a D1 pass for being new

 

The first two points are worth noting because Mynd's argument was that mafia are likely to joke vote each other to start a game as a form of distancing.  I don't know that I believe this to be true, but with the information we have now, we can confirm this wasn't the case, as Lenlo was town.  This doesn't mean that Mynd can't be onto something with TG being relax as mafia and joking with Lenlo, who he would know to be town, but that was never the argument. 

 

Mynd's biggest argument was TG's reaction to the case. 

 

 

You never actually said any problems with it other  than "UM WRONG!!!!"   That proves nothing.  That is like a scum saying "I'm the miller, I swear!!!"   I'm wrong because you say I am wrong.  What are you gonna do, tell me I am RIGHT about pointing out such a connection?  I don't like your reaction.  TG's is worse, but both of you are making a lot out of my casing than you should have.  Hence: snakes are rattled.

 

 

^Len is prob town here.  It's sheerly a valid point and even if it weren't I can't see how what Mynd is arguing could be construed as scummy.

I'd like to point out the bold, and I agree with almost all of it.  When somebody is accused (TG) in this case, it does no good to simply say "what? no, you're wrong." so I can sort of see where Mynd is coming from...except here is where TG actually goes through and attempts to refute nearly every point Mynd has made.

This is not a townie reaction.  A town player making an argument would take the time to consider the response to their argument, not immediately dismiss it.  If Mynd was actually TRYING to discern TG's alignment, rather than simply bury him and attempt to get town from listening, I don't see why he's trying to smother TG's response instead of actually having a discussion with it.  Since then, Mynd has constantly called TG scum and seemingly refuse to listen to anything TG says or anything somebody has to say about TG.

I was hoping for more suspiciousness here, but no one else did anything.  Salami and Notbob's vote on Lenlo can be argued and dismissed as self-preservation, as NB even says as much.  I moved from TG to Lenlo because he was my #2 and I felt the most confident of the three mini-trains that he would flip scum. 

 

I'm curious as to why your vote remained squarely on Clov since it was clear that train was not leaving the station.

That last one for me is really interesting.  The mafia team would have no reason to doubt Darthe's investigation result on Nyn whatsoever - nobody else had claimed cop, and obviously, he had hit scum.  It could have been a random guess, but he had...what, roughly a 33% chance of picking one if he just drew names?  Unlikely.  Odds are, he nailed one.

 

So Mynd comes in with his very first post and votes Nyn.  Perfectly reasonable for a townie to trust Darthe's claim, so I really don't have any issue with that.  How did Mynd handle Darthe's second guilty?

Now think about it from a townie mindset - nobody (Mynd, in this case) but Darthe would have known what was coming.  Mafia, on the other hand, would have had PLENTY of incentive to avoid the lynch, as they would have known that Darthe's results - and Drunk Tank as scum -  was full of shenanigans.  So Mynd comes in, doesn't question Darthe about the target selection, doesn't question Darthe about his request, and he doesn't vote DT despite the fact he wouldn't have been the hammer.  He parks his vote on TG, who he should probably know is off the table as a lynch candidate, even without a guilty on somebody else. 

 

That seems more like he knew what was going to happen than an oblivious townie to me.

 

 

 

 

TL;DR - Blatant tunneling, despite evidence his case was wrong.  Refusal to adjust his read.  Minimal interaction with the confirmed mafia.  Scummy handling of yesterday.

So even AFTER being called out for completing avoiding Tommy's suspicions, rather than showing your take on it/working on your own solve to refute what's being thrown on there, you'd rather get snarky with me and make it a wording issue.

Have no idea what you are talking about...Tommy and I exchanged FOS on Day 1...I never avoided anything...in fact Tommy was the player who left on Day 2...and later you and him were the catalyst for a mis-lynch on D3.  I'd look that way...

 

I guess I play differently then some players you are used to...I don't feel the need to...prove I'm town to the town...answer the baseless attacks...oh yeah...looks like a small minority sees it from your perspective...at that...the town should be able to discern that from my play...when I'm no longer useful to the town the town can lynch my happy ass....until then I'll continue to add value where I can.
