No no no. I want you to talk. As much as you can. It would be easier to read you if you weren't fronting condescension though. Just relax and get into the flow of the thread and talk about what you see. I'm constantly on defense so far but am still having fun. I want you to do the same!

Vos, I don't really understand your objection to BFArmi trying to get a straight answer out of Darthe. I mean... I'm the one he was calling town, and even I noticed it likely a little premature, and in the worst case, he was fabricating reads.

 

Trying to derive an answer for the question of "was he B.S.ing?" isn't wolfy.

It isn't. But persisting on not letting it go is. If they were "Aha, random town read and unwilling to clarify!" and then either FOS him and move on or vote him. But he already stated he had said what he was going to say about the subject. So why pursue it? It's beating a dead horse with a stick. Also, it's a classic act of saying something over and over until people subconsciously think it's true. Look, it's even working. I would assume town to do what Mynd just did right above here. Observe it, ask a question, then make an assumption. Then Darthe can clear it up if he feels its wrong or ignore it. Keeping the subject in attention when it's obviously not going anywhere is scummy.

 

Also, I've stated several times why I "object" (ie. find scummy) to BFArmi pursuing this. Scum tactic is finding a townie making a sort of inconsistency and trying to direct a mislynch on said inconsistency. Beside this BFArmi has done nothing but fake-hunt and prod.

 

Tommy is looking better reacting, and bumps down to second place. BFArmi takes the lead.

The way I scumhunt, the way I play depends on the mood and circumstances... But not my alignment.

 

I'm more timid and have (usually) much less WiM as scum cause I just plain dislike being one... But I can assure you that when I scumhunt that's always real. Whether I'm town or scum.

 

Also you frustrate me to no ends. Not sure why so strongly but right now I'd vig you regardless of your alignment just to gave you out.

Is it because Len is in the background? That's not atypical behavior for him. I would appreciate support for a TG push at the moment, wagonometrics on D1 are revealing.

 

Dude Tommy, I've said why Len was scummy so many times.  I even gave a short rundown with like a 1 sentence explanation of it. :(

 

 

I'm pleased with the activity. My initial deadline was for tomorrow around this time but I may extend it if you all keep up or increase the level of activity.

Just a note on that if you don't mind. Mutable deadline may not go well with hybrid hammer.

 

Seconded, I think the point of a hybrid hammer is so that you don't have to extend the deadline.  But, mod god decides all.

 

 

If Mynd was scum, he wouldn't have put the junk.  I feel like he would have been more careful as scum.  As town, he's more happy go lucky and does crazy things like I don't know...

I think you are over estimating things. Just because Mynd is good doesnt mean he wouldnt put the junk in there. Ive been on a scum team with Mynd more than once, so ive seen how he thinks through alot of these things and does just as many crazy things. The fact that your telling us to filter out half of his case speaks for itself really. If your having to filter out that large a portion of something just to make it look good, then its not good.

How do you not know what Rand is pushing me for? Hes been pretty vocal about it and I dont think ive been in the background today.

 

Ok fine if it makes you feel better.  Mynd's case was a steaming pile of horse dung.  I remade his case by cutting parts out and mine was a spectacular piece of work.  :)  My townreads from Mynd also come from other places like returning to his old techniques, his reactions to other people's analysis of his case and so on.

I have a general problem in mafia games with reading threads out of order, skimming posts, not reading posts at all. I'm currently missing probably 30% of them because I focus on a handful of players at a time. Like reading resumes, I give most posts a one-second glance and if nothing catches my eye immediately I move on. Des has chastised me for this habit because it gets me into unnecessary arguments or I ask questions already answered in the thread. Despite trying to correct it it's actually gotten worse lately due to multi-tabling games and increased phone posting.

The frequency of these types of posts is actually somewhat alarming.  However, Tommy would have to be cleverer than I think he is (no offense, but I think almost no one is this clever) to subtly place these references to himself in all of these posts, especially the one about the other game.  I think there's an easy way to solve this.  If one of these was proven to be true, it is much less likely that the others were contrived.

 

Tommy can you provide a link to the game where you are attempting to save town?

Dislike this post a lot.  Two reasons.  

 

 

1) polling a group of people to push someone into buying your alignment is mega salesman-like.  People who have something to sell in this game have a reason for not stating things outright which is rarely good.

2) Why those three?  Segregating a group gives Tommy an unnatural advantage here of choosing what opinions he wants vocalized.  

This was a rough post to see from someone I've had such a quick and sure read on thus far.  Tommy, can you explain any town reason for doing the above?  Or... your reason(s)?

 

 

Strange game indeed when I agree with his commentary more than any other on D1.  Go figure.

Good catch! Except it's been adjusting over the past couple days, maybe a week. If you're serious about discerning my alignment, I encourage you to look through that game. You'll find the same villaTom.

 

If you want to ignore how villagery I am right now and keep pushing me, I'll push back. And maybe even rope some people into joining me!

 

 

You're a good enough player to be both self-aware of your meta and also able to keep it fairly consistent town or wolf. 

 

And if you're going to threaten me to try and get me to back off, I interpret that as a HOOOWWWWLLLL.

 

 

 

TG is the player who is a complete wildcard in my book. I keep switching back and forth. But I 100% agree with this post. Tommy trying to clear himself by linking to another game is bollocks, and I'm surprised to see people taking it, no questions asked. Tommy is a good player and wouldn't be that hard to play to your own town meta as scum. Especially when you are conscious about it - like Tommy apparently is - and then using it for what it's worth. Self-meta-defense is always scummy in my book, and when you take control of it to the point where you pick a game and make people judge based on that game that you picked.... nope, not buying. 

 

And yeah, threatening people to lay off is also anti-town behavior. As town you should be concerned about clearing yourself as town, and finding scum. As scum you should be concerned keeping heat off yourself. Threatening people to lay off falls in that second category.
