Not the intent, the fact that her vote but Dice at L-2 with like three days remaining

I still think she's > rand to be a villager but she's not in my blue pile

Disclaimer: this is not solely directed at you.  You just happen to be the one to hit on it here.

I really wish we could get over this timing (as in speed, not scenario) thing.  If people have an issue with the justification of the vote, or how it came to be, I can understand that.  I said I wouldn't be lynching Leelou because I didn't like how her lynch looked.

But multiple players have now argued against lynches based on how quickly the lynch wagon formed. It's been four days at this point - is it really THAT fast if three or four people move together at this juncture?  On top of that, ignoring lynches based on their "popularity" seems counter-productive.  If I'm scum, and I get three quick votes on me, town has established a defense for my teammates NOT lynching me (i.e., "those votes came too quick, looks bad") and I'm able to buy myself time to either roll pressure elsewhere or defuse the case.

What do you think the speed of the run-up on dice means for dice's alignment?

wagonomics would say he's probably town but that and his claim are two things he has and his threadplay has been legit terrible

I had a scum result on me in MST3K

Why do you keep comparing my game here to games where I HAD AN ALIGNMENT INVESTIGATION ON ME?

WWE I got "mad", yeah, PSU made an "I'll-quit-Mafia-bet". As for the character claim, it was Day 3 and I had an alignment investigation on me.

In MST3K, it was Day 2 and the alignment cop outed me and I just sort of wanted to get it over with cause I wasn't getting out of that

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE DOING

I know exactly what I'm doing.  I'm replaying every moment of Mafia in my head where you've been genuinely pissed off - not frustrated, or let down, or annoyed - but actually mad.  And every thing I come up with goes back to you not being mafia. In fact, the only time I recall you being mafia and not being pissed is Creepypasta (where I died right off the bat and stopped following along), and Real Genius where you were largely inactive.

Because despite what some people think - yourself included - I don't view you as a ticking time bomb 95% of the time.  You seem too content actually winning, and trying, to just throw claims around to spite people and make them look bad.

well, if you are town, you will be enjoying humble pie because you are wrong and from my perspective everything you are saying is wrong and you're either lying, absurd levels of paranoid, or have not been paying attention like I assume you would after the great number of games we've played together

your meta is terrible and you should feel terrible

No, I really shouldn't.  I don't have any recollection of you liking a child not getting what he wants for Christmas in Arkham, Live Draft, Items, Airbed, Wolf (until BB vigged a townie over outed scum, anyway, and you still continued to do work afterward), either of the two games we've played together on VS, what I read of your posts in the champions game, or Twilight.  You argued with people, sure.  Called some people names (usually related to their careers in chimney maintenance).  But I never really felt like you were like, "You're wrong, you're a jerk, and you've ruined my interest.  I'll see the rest of you next sign up thread."

And why Pral over Lazy. Just curious. Also, what do you think of Lazy's reads?

Lazy's intro to thread was good and he doesn't seem super self-conscious. I can't give you an honest appropriation of his reads until I've reread him more throughly, but that's probably something I should go do now

Moreso, BFG gunning @ Pral while I'm on the table is probably a pretty strong indicator BFG is town. I am town, so I would assume Mafia would be sitting on their hands for the most part right now as lynching me would be a pretty great start, and BFG has conviction and her thoughts irt to Pral's line of logic being mostly non-linear is usually a decent indicator of someone just fabricating reads - I thought he was out of threadflow early

I have no idea why Des is clearing him

In Arkham and Live Draft I trolled because I was Indy. In Airbed I'm pretty sure I screamed at Gary and got modkilled by Andy for threatening to quit. In Wolf I stopped playing after Day 1 so I'm not really sure what you're getting at there.

You are just sort of saying things. I got mad at Des, whatever, I get mad at people and I get over it.

What do you think of him flat out calling Verbal town and having his vote still on there.

Sounds more like derp and not really following the game than being scummy, not sure what purpose he has as Mafia to park a vote on someone not being lynched today (as a joke)

I'll ISO him now

Let's see.

Quotes retracted for space.

Two very bad posts here.  First, I don't understand why you would basically rehash an argument already made (in this case, what Des said on Leelou).... only to seemingly write her defense for her (bolded statements), yet then point out why the defense doesn't cut it (green statements).  If you thought it was a solid enough case to follow him on, it seems self-defeating to be like "Well, she did X, and I understand why she'd want to, but she doesn't get that excuse because Y".  Second, I don't like the reasoning (or phrasing) of the last sentence.  You're going to vote her for pointing out that Misheru could have a post requirement?

This is like when Verbal pointed out BFG's potential requirement and seemingly ignored another (Tina, I think).  However, Verbal didn't go and try to push a lynch for it.  Is it scummy to indicate somebody might have a requirement?  In two games here, I haven't seen any post requirements, so it's not like she's role hunting.  Leelou never insinuated that we ought to be pursuing Mish because of a requirement; she just said she might have one.

All-in-all, I see this as somebody did solid legwork on D1 and somebody got opportunistic with trying to help the lynch through.

Then you follow it up with trying to force a character claim (or, uncharacter claim?).  We're a day into the game, and I can't think of a single benefit that Tina answering that question is going to do for town.

[v]Dice[/v]

EDIT: Forgot to mention - yellow is just awful.  Why should Des be grateful you took the time to catch up?  More importantly, why shouldn't you be wanting to catch up?

My initial vote.  11:58 on the 21st.

Vote two:

-bit obtuse in that she was being purposefully difficult at the start but meh. She's come around since in her posting but jury is out.

Right now I'm going to [v] Dice [/v] . He needs to come back with more than pingy posts.

2:09 PM on the 21st.

Vote three:

I liked Clov's case on dice. I think at this point I'm leaning more towards him than Mish, due to past games where she similarly freaked out and turned out being town. I rather not make that mistake again (though, admittedly, lynching Mish always gives me the lolz).

Vote dice

dice, you have the lowest post count in the game right now. Five measly posts. Step it up.

Nyn

2:48 PM on the 21st.

Vote 4:

Why did you tell him you should be blue then?

I'm just having difficulty with that Leelou. Okay, so you don't think people should have been able to read you by that point- I think that notion is wrong, but eh mebbe you really believe it. Why would you tell Cory to bump you up to blue then just a few posts before that?

I was purely spamming and made like 2 or 3 game comments. I am snarky and wanted to see what he would say. You may not like it, but it is what it is.

Okay.

It took about 24 hours to reach four votes.  That doesn't seem particularly fast.

2:50 PM on the 22nd.

V6:

at this point, i'd like to hear anything from dice.... even a 'bah u suck' would be ok. Lurky dice for me is scummy dice, so he'll have to work on that.

maybe this will wake him up:

vote dice

3:17 on the 22nd.

V7:

Good luck, AJ!

Congrats again, Leelou!

If you read this, hope you feel better soon, Mish!

I have sadly been absent all day since I´ve been taking care of my sick daughter.

I don´t mind voting Dice. As I said before - I don´t know why Leelou would have more information for bringing up an eventual pr. It looked like a lazy bandwagon vote. And the rolefishing was bad.

[v] Dice [/v]

Marvin: I have a million ideas, but, they all point to certain death.

Arthur: Thanks very much, Marv!

3:50 PM on the 22nd.

That was the final vote that Dice would receive.  Overall, I don't feel that it was a particularly fast moving lynch.  I do have a slight concern over how the final two votes (Thane, Tina) came fairly quickly after the fifth (Leelou).  Thane slammed his down 27 minutes after Leelou, and Tina followed 33 minutes after that.  In the course of one hour, we went from not even half of the necessary votes to L-2.

I think AJ and Vos said he'd be checking in via phone. Could do with Pral voting someone that could get lynched as well. Lazy and Dice are both in Oz so probably won't make deadline. Don't know if Verb will show or not. Weekend, but he also hasn't voted. And at some stage some people on trains are going to have to budge.

THE POST RIGHT ABOVE THIS

I guess I could include my actual conclusion, rather than just the research: if basing just on speed, I'd say a slightly higher likeliness to be town than mafia.  Maybe a 55 - 45 split?  If not for the final four votes coming within a few hours of each other, and the final three being only one hour apart, it would probably be reversed (maybe throw in a few extra points onto mafia).

03. Absolute majority is required for a lynch. Once this is achieved, the lynch will proceed immediately [i.e. hammer game].

04. Should an absolute majority vote “No Lynch” or should no absolute majority be reached by deadline, there will be no lynch and the game will proceed directly to Night phase. [no penalty]

Yeah, so no hammer, no lynch, with no flips and this will be a very frustrating D1 if that happens.
