I'm very stubborn.

@ Len - We do have other gameplay outside of claim talk, we've got Vos's case on Darthe, Wombat going after Vos. I think it's worth it to discuss AJ's move in suggesting the claim, and Mish's "trap" on him. But discussing to death whether or not we've all got secondary characters seems pretty futile to me.

You say you disagree about how beneficial it could be to the town - why? I apologize if you already brought this up, I don't recall. But if you could succinctly explain the reasons you think figuring out characters is beneficial, I would appreciate it.

We do have other yes but ive already addressed those earlier.

I want to figure out the characters so we can lock people into things/information. Scum need wiggle room to do well so by locking people in I want to restrict that wiggle room as much as possible. If we lock people into claims now then on D4 or D5 someone cant go "Im snow white, dont lynch me, im town!" Cause we will have dealt with that already. Honestly I dont see how it helps mafia much at all besides increasing the alraedy massive list of characters for them to choose from. I mean srs there are so many.

This seems constructed. I think everyone here has the capacity of finding a unlikely character and remembering it.

And we have already been over why it benefits scum.

Do we have a "beating a dead horse with a stick"-smiley?

See Vos I disagree that it benefits scum that as much as you all say.

It's distracting for now. Can we please move on.

Points are all there is too it. In a role-less game there isn't anything else, so let's stop pretending, listen to Leelou and move on.

No. Points are not all there is to it, points simply decide the equivalent to the role the person has. In a roleless game what matters is gameplay and posts. Claims and how claims are handled are also gameplay. You thinking that points are all that matters is false and worrying.

Yeah, I just totally disagree, I guess, Lenlo. If we're about to lynch someone scummy-looking and they try to claim Snow White, my response would essentially be "So what?" Since characters in this game have nothing to do with role, their claim wouldn't mean anything. It would just mean they were able to come up with one of many, many Disney characters. Just because  no one else could counterclaim it wouldn't mean we would back off - at least, I hope not. There's such a big pool to choose from, that no character counter claim means absolutely nothing.

And that's all I'm going to say about that. Sorry for beating on that for a little while, everyone, I was just trying to lock Lenlo down on his opinions about that.

Why do scum need wiggle room for claims?

Not for claims but in general. I want them to have to give us as much as possible. If you say, hint like Mish did that your a main character with your name in the title, then that leaves you alot of characters to pick from while giving people enough info that they might leave you alone.

I get the impression you're trying to backfill your story here. Not good, broseph.

Just when I'm about ready to order a hard switch to Lenlo, Vos comes along and posts that.

Yikes.

Gonna need at least a couple pencils today, Lily. Just keep sharpening them, and I'll take care of the rest.

This shows that you were waiting for the game to move rather than trying to get it moving yourself.  That is anti-town.

No, it isn't.  You're really reaching with this Vos pressure.  This is not typical Wombat scumhunting.  I'm no longer willing to fuse.

Is this a joke?  Since when have you known me not to do this kind of thing on D1?  I'm not claiming to be Mynd or anything, but I never sit back on D1.

Bold is mine:

So why didn't you make that vote earlier instead of saying you could go either way and asking about deadline?

It was early D1, I was still largely undecided and wanted to gauge gameplay when more people 'joined the fray' later on. So if anything, I'm guilty of being overtly cautious about my D1 vote. So, if you're still locked in on me as scum, that's a better story than my scummyness for asking about deadline.

This is essentially what I was looking for, when I mentioned there could be more innocent reasons for linking deadline and voting. He had a couple ideas of where to place his vote, but it was still early in the game, and he wanted to find out if we had a set time yet for when he needed to place a vote by.

I'll grant you, he could have placed a vote on either your or Darthe anyway, to see what kind of a reaction he would get, to try to push one of you. But I don't think the fact that he chose a slightly less proactive stance makes him scummy.

I do think it makes him scummy.  What is the town incentive for expressing opinions on possible alignments while not voting on D1?

I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing it.

Ill argue this one. It may be a bit if a stretch based on what he is arguing but Vos warrants the pressure here and very little on D1 isnt reaching to some extent. I like how open he is being about it.

This.  Some of you guys forgot how to play it seems.

I think your point on wiggle-room is completely constructed, and objectively all I can see from the claim-talk is that clever fake-claims gain points.

What d'you mean?

Still disagree.  It doesn't matter that he is being open about it - the whole premise is a stretch.  Anti-town to want the game to come to you instead of pushing it along?  That's weak.  I can remember plenty of times I've wanted each to occur, and my alignment was irrelevant.

It's an anti-town style.  Why do you think I repeatedly refer to you as one of the slimiest townies I've ever seen?
