It sort of seems like Wombat is trying too hard to sound like town, so I'm actually starting to lean scum on Wombat. Although, his reminder on the soup mechanism makes me not so sure. That's a very town thing to do (since that's very powerful if the scum end up using it) but he could have said it to try to seem very town.

Unvote Dawn. Vote Wombat.

apparently people cant read

there is always the option of NOT giving the doublevote.

If we do give it, considering points already bought up about being a target, do we give it instead to a less..... expert player? Perhaps not a newbie, needs to have experience i guess. For example giving it to me or len (i think we have been playing about the same length of time tho one is better then the other) rather then a Wombat or Verb, who are very good scumhunters.

They are also much harder to pick when they are mafia so we could be tricked by them more easily then a "lesser" player.

Also we really do need to think about this cause if the person survives to endgame that role becomes very powerful

oh and no I do not want it.

the only reason i mentioned Len is because I think we have been playing mafia here approx the same amount of time and that helped my example.

or so i thought.

As for talking out both sides of my mouth? I dont want it. I dont want mafia to have it and i dont trust anyone at this time. That clear enough?

@mish How would you know if you gave it to a witch? They could just play along with town and not make any scumslips. there are people in this game who can do that. Then come end game Town gets bitten by it. Come endgame it is a powerful tool.

Abit overly defensive there. And I know you were trying to clarify here, but I'm still confused. You don't want it. You don't want scum to have it. But you don't think anyone is town is no-one should have it. but someone has to have it. So we go to our next step, which is that a veteran shouldn't have it. And a newbie shouldn't have it. So, we are left with someone who has player - oh, I don't know - the same amount of time as you? Which leaves you and Len?

Sorry, but when you boil it down, it seems like you are trying to vote Len, but cloak why you are doing it, instead of just doing it, which I don't understand why you would as town.

Recovering from good poisoning.

Was reading back and saw this, and couldn't help but ask about this.

Is this a typo for food poisoning or is it the "good poisoning" aka. whisky?

Posted

Food. Ate at this really great Japanese place. It's always been so good. Think the appetizer was bad. Sushi was on point however.

Lenlo and Dice are my top scum reads atm.  Willing to test if either of them float if you know what I mean.

I have no idea what dices thing came from fyi and I find it just as scummy/weird as you.

Id like it if you could give reasons for those though.

I already did.  Your "fake me" schtick was utterly terrible and Dice is talking out of both sides of his mouth.

Utterly terrible, but amusing to me.

Yeah, well next time want to amuse yourself by flooding the thread with anti-town garbage, make sure you're a Jester first.  I'm totally fine with killing you for this alone.

Lol.  Lily says she might vote me and all of a sudden I'm trying too hard to look town.  But you're not sure because the soup warning was pretty pro-town.  But I could have been doing that to look town.  Which is what you already said I've been doing and an angle Verbal already brought up when I first did it.  Bandwagoning?  Check.  WIFOM/Hedging?  Check.  Redundant Filler?  Check.  Pretty scummy vote.  Add it to your joke self-vote and ineffectual complaint about weekend activity, and you're looking pretty scummy here.  What's the story morning glory?

I dont understand how it was anti town garbage cause it was a joke and was obviously a joke, yes was blown up to be something completely different than what it was originally. The way your taking what is obviously a joke ((That ive carried over from the sign up thread even)) is ridiculous. Its not good scum hunting.

Also by "Flooding" I assume you mean 2-3 posts? Gotcha.

2-3 posts about the same thing.  That wasn't funny.

Your argument about ignoring jokes is crap btw, just like when Leyrann used to make that argument.  Jokes can be some of the best scumhunting material on D1.  It's hard as scum to let down your guard enough to be funny but not so much that you slip.

Pfft people put their guard up D1 as scum?

I never said to ignore them. And yeah jokes are hit or miss. Im not saying they cant work as scumhunting material but imo they arnt the best. I prefer to use them only when I dont have anything else to go on.

Of course they do.  D1 lynches can be very unpredictable and some townies will inevitably see it as acceptable not to do much on D1, so there's a huge incentive to say nothing that matters.  The scum usually don't extend themselves too much on D1 unless that's just part of their game in general.

I was joking again with that. Seriousness is not a trait I exercise much even though I probably should.

I don't mind you joking as long as you don't mind me treating it as gameplay.

Ill take that deal.

Len was simply an example of someone with experience. I used him because we have about the same time playing and that made him an easy comparison.

And to be clear my preference would be NOONE have it tbh. there is far too great a chance of it ending up in the wrong hands.

I don't mind getting it. It's not like it's uncontrollable. You just gotta be a bit more c.areful with the timing of your votes And if it does end up in a witch's hands, it's no big problem really either. If the person who gets it abuses it, it's very easy to nail them down as a witch. It doesn't become dangerous in a wicth's hands before closer to LyLo. Either way it's a tiny thing in a very advanced role madness game. Not the end of the world. And someone IS getting it. And I'd rather control who it goes to on-thread, by getting a majority, than letting the witches decide. So since at the moment there is a tie, I will

Cosvote Mish

The other person I'm most comfrotable voting it for is Verbal. I'm wary of wombat since I can't decide right now if I think it's a townie following his instincts or a mafia trying to buddy. Wouldn't be the first time he's done that to me

I got a more town feel from Alanna than from Lily in this. Lily I get the feeling she's trying to play all the sides of the field. Alanna comes across as more genuine concerned townie.

Pretty sure Lenlo won't float. The whole "WHERE IS ME!?"-thing, coupled with his brash defense of his joke, this was a joke, this was a joke, this was a joke, ooooh I'm always just joking doesn't read like town at all to me.

And if he sinks, I wouldn't be too suprised if Dice didn't float either - but I'm having a harder time reading Dice, so I'm more comfortable with Len today. Also thinking if he flips scum, Mish is pretty much in the clear.

Vote Lenlo

Other than that I have very little to go on, but for what it's worth - here is to listening to my gut:

Town: Wombat, Mish, Jack, Leelou

Null/conflicted: Pray, Verb, Dawn, Hallia, Alanna

Suspicious/scum: Lenlo, dice, Lily

Posted

And I'd also like to nominate Leelou for the panda. She is reading relaxed townie, and has neither said "I WANT IT" nor "I DON'T WANT IT". I think a double vote would be good in the hands of the most relaxed and calm-headed player here.

Cosvote Leelou

Could also give it to Jack or Mish methinks.

I recommend everyone read up on the soup mechanic.  Because of this mechanic it is very important for townies not to tip, hint at, or reveal their roles..  We should still stop before lynching someone to allow a last defense, but forcing a true roleclaim will be as good as killing a townie.  And if the scum ever figure out all of our roles, they can end the game in one night.  It is important that we very carefully consider our actions in this game as outing power roles is much, much more dangerous than usual.  Traditional scumhunting will be vital.

Townie post

Not exactly agree with this.Wombat makes a very valid and important point but the whole point of Wombat's post could be to gain the town cred. It isn't that big a gambit for scum either as that mechanic would have been referenced anyway during the game and don't think anyone would have actually gone and claimed even without Wombat's post.

However, Lily pointing it out does make me feel good about her. Purely meta.

Null for Wombat. Lily town.

It was maybe slightly humorous the first time you did it in the sign up thread, then you dragged your joke over here. It is almost seeming like you actually got roled scum and you are trying to distance yourself from it.

I could vote for you or dice right now. Dice's posts seem too forced like he is trying to come across as townie with the I don't want the double vote, but I don't want scum to have it either. Also, he has semi linked you together in his posts.

unvote, vote Len
