As for my suspects, Verb is totally out of it because of his vote yesterday. He could have lynched me and would not have caused any suspicion. That makes him definitely town.

 

BFG's last minute change does make her seem like town. There would have been no need for her to do if she was scum. She could still have slipped away.

 

I agree with verb about Wombat. But would he bus two of his teammates (assuming he was recruited before Des did) just to get that town cred? I am not sure of it/.

 

That leaves Ishy. I don't see anything that make him seem town. Hi town PR might have been legitimate but that is about it. In a game like this, that wouldn't matter at all.

 

My vote would be on Ishy and probably much lower in my  list is Wombat.

 

That said, what did BFG do with the potion?

I'm in agreement with you, but I think Wombat was defending Pralaya pretty hard the other day.  Definitely makes me wonder about the motives.  I kept stating that I only thought one of Des or Wombat was scum, but that was a lie.  I was looking to see if Wombat relaxed with me, but he really didn't....so kudos to him if he's scum.  He didn't fall for the easy slip that many do.

 

I also have a town read on BFG, and mostly you as well.  Questionable on both Wombat & Pralaya.

 

I defended Pralaya because I had a town read on him and a scum read on Goldeneyes.  I didn't know why you were doing that "one or the other" thing, but it smelled to me, so I mentioned that I thought it was weird and just treated you like I normally do, which is to say highly skeptically.  Idk what I would have done if I were scum.

I also find it unlikely that they never tried to recruit Wombat, but given that he led the lynches on Des & Golden I can't see that he was. 

 

Equally Day 3 the only 3 man team that's possible is Des/Golden/Pral but I can't see that working.

 

Is it possible that we have an independent third party, or 2 mafia teams with alternate nights?  Although in my head that requires an improbable number of blocks/saves (and our doc says he self protected each night) so I don't necessarily see that working either.

 

 

This line sorta rang a bell for me.  When I saw it, I was like, why couldn't that have been the scum team?  Des was obviously the most important scum role, and I was all but tunneling him and Goldeneyes.  Des being lynched would have been horrible for the wolfcult, but losing a minion wouldn't be that bad at all.  If a "wolfmate" died, all they'd have to do is recruit another townie to pass the burden of that lynch onto the town.  If Des was a CL, he was all-important.

 

So what if D3 Des decided he needed to bus a wolfmate in order to get some town cred and get me off his back?  So when things started swinging toward Pralaya and Ishy voted him, Des and Goldeneyes jumped on right away for the superbus.  Des loves to bus, and bussing makes even more sense for cult than mafia, especially if it keeps your CL alive.

Also, it fits with Pralaya's crappy defense at L - 1.  I figured it was because he was town, but it could just as easily have been because he was bussed.  It would also explain why Pralaya waited so long to vote Des.  He didn't want Des in danger of being hammered, but once I pressured him on it 30 mins before deadline, he switched to Des in order to keep Despo's cover intact.  Goldeneyes even brought that up yesterday as a point against Pralaya.  I'm thinking maybe we had two scum trains yesterday and they were going for the all-out bus since Pralaya and Golden were looking the scummiest.  Whoever didn't get lynched would have solid town cred and maybe make it to endgame if they could get town to cannibalize a bit.

As for the suspicions about me, I can't say too much to assuage them as I would have been a decent recruitment target and I did indeed defend Pralaya quite a bit.  I will try though.

 

I am almost always a good recruitment candidate as town and I usually trust my reads, so the fact that I defended Pralaya as town shouldn't be too surprising to anyone.

 

As for why I wasn't recruited, I can only think that the cult was wary of getting invested in the inevitable WIFOM of Ishy's viewing come endgame (should I be alive).

Seems as if Pral isn't going to defend himself or do as BFG asked. And as Verb and BFG are the two left to hammer, I feel comfortable with their motives, I don't believe either are cult. Add that to the fact that if recruiting ended with Des's lynch, there could only be one left, so a mislynch, however unlikely this would be, wouldn't mean game over.

Of course I cannot defend myself when I am sleeping. I went to sleep with zero votes or zero suspicion on me. I woke up with the lynch. 

The quick lynch is definitely something to be looked at.

"It's not me, I swear! I'm not one of them!" Pralaya said as quickly as he could, backing away. "Well Wombat is still one of us so it must be you." BFG responded hefting an axe. Pralaya could see by the glint in their eyes that it was over for him. He took a deep breath, turned his back to the crowd, and knelt on the ground. The remaining villagers looked at each other and with a dull thunk Wombat caved Pralaya's skull with a thick tree branch.

 

 

Pralaya, Catan Villager, has been lynched.
