Good grief, November already?

What do you like about this time of year? What do you dislike? What are you "blah humbug" about that everyone else seems to enjoy?

Personally, I love the cold evenings and the ice blue sunsets. I love the changing colors as the year begins its slow crawl toward another death and how life prepares itself for a long slumber. I like the sound of the crackling leaves in the wind outside my window, the harvest dinners and the long, lingering nights that never seem to end until dawn explodes over a frosted earth. I like the silvery full moon and the long, weird shadows of gnarled trees naked and bare in the brilliant night. I like the strange song of unseelie dance in the hidden glens and the wicked tree-flutes which sing and warble for their departed birds. I like the lazy clouds drifting sleepily over the hibernating hills, the sky pierced with the echoing calls of geese finding their way to secret destinations of rest. I like the smell of rotten earth filling the air as fallen leaves wither and crumble into dust, the last dream of summer far away from the minds of all things which rumble and creak into their wintry dens.

I like you, November. Let's be friends. :3

I love November.  I love the change of seasons.  I love the early dark evenings, sleeping with the windows open and cold air blowing in, clear cool days, beautiful leaves, hot tea, hot chocolate, cooking in the crock pot, making soup, wrapping up in blankets and snuggling with my doggies.  Autumn is my favorite season.

I like November because we have A: Izumicon (the anime convention for which I have the pleasure of being Events AD for Admin and Guest Relations), and B: NaNoWriMo! (National Novel Writing Month. If you don't know about it, check it out!).

I also love the cooler air (it's hot in Oklahoma well into October, with a little flip-flopping), fall leaves (ours have 'finally' started turning. I anticipate they will be brown and dead next week), and the nippy air that's a great excuse to drink hot cocoa and hug my cats and wear my collection of warm fuzzy sweaters in bright colors.

Oh, and we're leading up to Thanksgiving and (for my family) the 'end' of the holiday shopping season (Almost no one in my family goes into a shopping mall after Thanksgiving Day. I think it's a life preservation technique. ) I enjoy Thanksgiving for the family and friend closeness, and the positive attitude of gratitude and love that is more prevalent that day than a lot of the rest of the year.

So, lots of things.

November is crazy time! Nano devours my life and this year, I'm adding meds to the fun!

I do love the change in seasons and the smell of apples everywhere. I love all the positive thoughts of Thanksgiving and family time.

Yeah, I'm a sentimental sap...
