we could probably 5man karazhan and Zul'Aman but we can't 5man the level 70 25man raids.  Emp can attest to the truth that the second to last boss encounter in Black Temple broke apart a raid of 25 level 71-80.  Mostly 80s

Do some zul'gurub (sp)

Well if you tank, Claire Heals, I have my healer up... we have Verbal and FDM... well thats half of what we need right?  How hard is it to find a few dps?  I am asking because I really do not know.

What ever happened to dero?  He was up there.

Yeah we need to find a few more high levels.

Zul'arak?

And in the end we'll have Claire, Me, Verbal, Silver (how the hell did you get 70+ so fast!?!?), Canuk, Emp, Barm (when he finally commits to our WoW society), and Cat is moving her way on up with her Hunter. So that is already 8. We'll be doing okay. :) When Naeann officially succumbs, she'll level up as well and then we'll be in business.

Zul Gurub is lvl 60 25man raid.  the trash are easy, the bosses are totally a pain in the a.  even with a group of level 80's.  and you have to kill all the bosses because each death removes an overpowered buff from the end boss.  The end boss wiped the floor with me and Khanrhyd twice.  the second time we buffed up like we were going to try 2maning Naxx.  We died just as fast as before.

and at the end of March Khanrhyd should be reactivating his account.  he'll only be a weekend raider though.  he's a raid experienced healer and dps.

doing the dungeons and quests in northrend should give you the rare (blue) gear you need to step up to do the Heroic dungeons plus giving you the rep to buy  rares for heroics and starter epics for raids.  The heroics drop your starter epics (purples) and the badges (tokens) needed to buy advanced raider epics if your starters aren't dropping/going to you.

when you've done all the non-daily quests in Northrend (and gotten the rares) and are ready to start Heroics i'll be available to party with you as the tank or dps.

Of course if you want company or help before then look me up.  if i'm not on try me on the horde side.  make a horde char and then do a /who dragonmount who ever is listed is me, or emp.  but more likely me.

when we're ready i want to start us on the actual raid progression ladder and not just jump head first into the sparkly new end game 10man raid.

would it benefit us to have a separate forum where members of both guilds can take and co-ordinate?

and OMFG!!! I HATE THIS VALENTINE'S DAY BOSS ENCOUNTER WITH A NUCLEAR NERDRAGE!!

Think of zul'gurub as training wheels for real raids.

If you can 10 man Zul'Gurub, you can 10man anything.

Canuk  you are absolutely right about doing a ladder for raids.  I am actually really enjoying doing each and every dungeon as I level (in some cases about 20 times).  I would love to get comfortable doing raids.

What do we need for 10 mans?  Do you only need one main tank or do you need an off tank too?  One or two healers?

Could we get away doing Zul Gurub with 8 people if many of our toons were 70+?

i'm not, i don't trust the security.

raids take from 1hr to everyone is fed up and tired of wiping.  the BT raid went well because 90% of the people in it have raid experience.  we can do 8man ZG.  but i'd like to wait till khanrhyd's back and you've gotten all your starter gear.  ZG will be easier then the lvl 80 raids but we should pretend that they're all level 80 mobs in there.  It's the boss fight mechanics and tactics that we're really there to get used to doing.

when you first do the bosses in Naxx it's a whole lot of OMFGSH!T!!! AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH RUN!!

once we do ZG we'll work on Kharazhan cause it's got other strange mechanics then we'll try a lvl 80 raid of Obsidan Sanctum.

btw i hope you're all going to be reading up on Zul Gurub and how to defeat all the bosses real soon.

I can't wait.  I'm going slow right now as I level my herbalism up high enough to use it in Outlands, but that shouldn't take more than a few days longer.....then I'm just straight up leveling with my buddy.

I'm hoping to hit 70 with a couple of weeks and moving on to Northrend.

Should I quest at lvl 61 right now (in Outlands), or should I use the random dungeon finder?  In other words, which is quicker?

When it comes to raids, The actual duration of the raid isn't actually raiding, its gathering the people to do it. SPecially if your Pugging.

Guilds, you say, 6pm, and if you don't login at 6pm, you lose your spot.

Basically you all pick a time, say, 8pm Eastern, and everyone gets tot hat location, BY 8pm. ASsuming no ones late, you walk in and start clearing.

The raids only take along time, if your wiping constantly on trash mobs.

Put it this way, back when Zul'Gurub or whatever its called, was still 'end game' for the 12-24 man raids, at lvl 60, going in the first few times, 3 hours was spent clearing trash.

Another 4 hours to even get close to killling the boss.

Next week, we got through the trash faster, Killed the boss on the 3rd try. only 5 hours that time.

As you progress, it gets faster.

I think by the time we got to the final boss, we one-two shot every boss, and one-shot hakkar.

BAsically looking at 30-45 minutes to get to each boss, 3-4 hours was pretty good for a raid...

Age of Conan, heres how the raids went.

Clear trash, in 30 minutes.

Spend next 3 hours trying to kill boss, Wipe, re-clear trash, try again until people say 'fudge it'.

After you get good at taking down the boss, and can 1-shot it, its fast.

Put it simply, when I first started Raiding in Age of Conan, we spent roughly 6 hours 4 days a week, trying to take down the first, second, or third bosses.

Today, there are 4 bosses per wing.

We can clear each wing in an hour.

Theres 3 wings

WE have to wait 1 week to go for it again.

You have no idea how addicting it is, trying to LEARN in Encounter, and absolutely Dominate it, Only to be hit up again by another brick wall and climb over it.

The guild I'm in in Age of Conan, (Though at this point i'm in it ony in name, since i got no money to play anymore) was the first guild, in the world, to down the hardest boss in that game. And we did it with 2 people short of a full raid.

We didn't tell them that, cause they'd probably yell hax. :P

Kiki....

Quest and Dungeon.  The higher levels being a DPS means you can wait upwards for 30 minutes per dungeon.  If you dungeon back to back... that is quicker.  What I do with my healer is take her out and level my mining while I wait.
