Cloud, should I be treating you telling me to shut up as part of the gameplay?

I in no way meant the "shut up" as an insult towards you, and you shouldn't treat it personally at all. I told you to shut up because you were about to provoke Mish and Ithi with that comment, and I really don't think that would have helped in any sort of way.

I agree, let's relax for a while!

I'm having a really good time, enjoying this game immensely and I thought everyone else was too, certainly, I'm hoping so!!

Thanks for clarifying that. I was ninja'd by a couple of posts there. That was a last minute effort to get Ithi stay - personally I think that this game willose a lot by her leaving :(

Thanks guys. I'm having an awful day outside of the game so a little civility and friendliness today towards each other would go a long way

We're posting very quickyl and get ninja'd a lot of times and somehow things got out of hand with some replies being out of sync.

That's the problem with being too active I suppose.

@Csarmi: No problem. I just wanted to clarify that it's never my intention to personally insult people in mafia games. I may have acted a bit blunt just now though, and I apologise for that. I also wish that we could all get along and play these games for what they are.

You acted a bit blunt because you wanted to act quick, I believe.

But with all the Ninja posts going on it was way too late already (which justifies being quick btw) :D

Good morning all! RTE- don't bug Verb man he is busy with something.

Anyone notice that the Oracle just functioned as an insta-cop?

@DICE please ask

Is the DOC town

Is the Cop town

Is the TRACKER town

Is the ORACLE town

Is the INNOCENT CHILD town

I know these seems redundant, but please report back your answers for each as this is important.

Okay, first and foremost, Ithi sowed a lot of WIFOM into those last few pages. No clue whats going on in her life (<3 you Ithi) but we have a couple of problems. First, we can't really trust that slot. Second, iur soluyion to the issue has a few issues of its own whicj I will explain at the bottom of the page.

In regards to Mish Salami got his plan backwards. My inirial thought upon reading the situation was that we should kill her art night. It made better sense to. However, when five said she was not town that reversed things, making her a clear and optimal choice for town to safely kill as our vig takes the risk at night. Thus unvote vote mish

On to Dice. We need him to confirm a few things. Before this day ends we need him to confirm if a cop is in this game, what alignment the doc and vig hold, and the tracker as well (because IC is always town, even in bastard games).

After he does that Thorum needs to shoot him. Him specifically. There are a few reasons.

1) Dice has given us all enough info to play on and basically game break.

2) We will be at least 3 anti-town down and Salami looks good for the kill.

3) His role is broken if real, which WIFOMs this whole thing.

I'm not explaining the first two, but allow me to explain the third. A standard Oracle, full power etc is allowed to ask one question per day cycle that is unrelated to alignment at all that recieves a yes or no. It may also get an "unanswerable" which would waste its question for the day. The only real variants allow for multi-word answers or two questions per cycle, one at day and one at night.

Being able to ask about alignments and ask multiple questions a day and geg a multi-word answer is so game breaking that I only have two ways of exolaining it. Either our lovely mod didn't fully understand the role when he got the game from Nolder or Dice is lying. As things stand that role is practically God in this game.

Thus, to eliminate that big mess and finally get our game straightened out we need to kill Dice.

Btw, benefit here is that his info, early info especially, is likely true regardless of his alignment. He couldn't risk the lie.

You have the social grace of an engineering major.

Darthe gets it.

Not sure if that Thorum kill will be succesful, mind.

Thoughts on the LOVER revealing at this stage? Might save us a hassle (and a wasted vig shot...)

I agree with all three points. That still leaves a potential Cloud-kill, or a semi-inactive kill (people like krak or darthe), or killing an active (salami or berf, for example). Like I said: I won't give any clues as to who I vig.

Dice is in love with a non-town character. Evens things out neatly, I guess (as it for sure will get him lynched early on). Which might be exactly the reason NOT to lynch/vigkill him.

Posted

Dice can ONLY be in love with MAFIA at this stage if Mish flips 3rd party, assuming a town Lover wouldn't lie about Coroner.

There are only 3 teams, Mafia, Town, Lovers, and 1 3rd party. That makes any non-town remaining Liars Mafia.

Ergo I believe they should out. Dice is dead anyway.

Vote: Mish

There's no reason not to lynch her. Survivor can win with mafia, she could still be mafia, and her flip may vet Dice.

Csarmi's resistance to this lynch is super scummy.

I'm fine with Thorum hipfiring btw. Csarmi trying to control his shot is raising my hackles.

NOTE:  I read the last 3-4 pages.  I see nothing overtly awful in there.  Saying a vote is stupid is not saying the player is stupid.  Giving somebody grief over their case or vote is gameplay.  People need to have a thick skin to play mafia.

I told csarmi in no unclear terms during the Scooby game that I didn't trust his mafia ability to figure out the info properly.  Was it true?  Not really - I was trying to pressure him into giving me the info.  I wanted to help, so I tried to strongarm him into letting me.  He held his ground and didn't.....all part of the game.  I don't think he's an idiot, even though I practically called him one several times, lol.

If you actually need to step back from a game and not let it get personal, then perhaps mafia isn't the game for you.  I'm not putting up with this crap on my damn board.  I'd rather have 10 players that know it's only a game than 20 players that can't make the differentiation.

So you're advocating lynching a claimed survivor, one we might even be sure of existing (given that Dice is saying the truth). Are you sure that's a good idea at this point?

On to Dice. We need him to confirm a few things. Before this day ends we need him to confirm if a cop is in this game, what alignment the doc and vig hold, and the tracker as well (because IC is always town, even in bastard games).

Darthe, are you absolutely sure that knowing which town roles exist would benefit town more than the maffia? Why not try to figure out what maffia roles exist by the way?

After he does that Thorum needs to shoot him. Him specifically. There are a few reasons.

Why not lynch Dice and shoot Mish instead? The only reason I could think of is that it gives more time for Dice to communicate with the mod.

Also, you do note that Dice is likely to have a town lover, so that's two townies down.

1) Dice has given us all enough info to play on and basically game break.

If he's saying the truth, he's giving us the setup (except for what maffia roles exist). That's a powerful tool, but not necessarily game breaking.

While there: how do we know what town roles to ask about? Also, what maffia roles to ask about.

2) We will be at least 3 anti-town down and Salami looks good for the kill.

Explain please. We are one anti-town down now.

Your plan is likely to yield zero anti-town dead by morning (one neutral down though - but I hope you aren't counting that as anti-town, do you?

3) His role is broken if real, which WIFOMs this whole thing.

I disagree about his role being broken (if real). It fits the theme perfectly and it's not any better than playing with a semi-open setup.

Do you claim that semi-open setups are imbalanced?

In summary, I do think you're raising valid points and your plan should be considered, but I see several ways it could go wrong.

3 anti-town

- Desp

- Mish ("Not town", detrimental role claimed)

- Dice's lover
