Voting somebody for doing something anti-town?  So, let's say Darthe claimed mafia and RTE voted Darthe, would you still jump on RTE for going after the "easy target?" yes actually. Why would he claim mafia as mafia. That's only been done once successfully to my knowledge.

But besides that, Darthe claimed town not mafia. By that fact alone this should be the exact opposite case pretty much

 No.  Dap, I don't like your reasoning here.  There is a difference between someone doing something scummy and getting heat for it versus mafia jumping on an easy lynch, and at the first vote you can't tell the difference.   you seem to be making the distinction so evidently you can tell the difference

I don't think claiming vanilla right off is the best move. Like Peace said, it means scum have knowledge of how to narrow down their targets. But I don't think it means he is scum. I think there's also the possibility that Darthe really does have a power for town, and he is trying to divert NKs away from him.

The moment Darthe did it on thread everyone should of been thinking "Darthe might be hiding a PR". The point of not mentioning it is the mafia may (slim hope cos I doubt they are being as obtuse) of not known that he could of been hiding a PR. Then Basel comes along and just drags all that WIFOM out in the open.

Town didnt need to know about that WIFOM if they couldn't figure it out for themselves. Mafia sure as hell didnt need to know.

So what Basel does is force information out that wasn't needed for town and is serving an anti town purpose (whether intentional or not)

Now do you get why bringing that WIFOM out in the open is silly?

It's like if someone drops a cop or doc hint. You don't go and quote and bold it. You keep it quiet and try not to mention it unless it looks like that person will be lynched. Even then let them talk themselves out of it isn't incase they don't need a claim.

Because somehow it has recently become a trend here to not lynch people who act "too scummy."    For instance, Peace in JohnSnows aborted game asked for all town power roles to claim, asked the cop repeatedly for all investigative info the cop had gotten, asked who was protecting the cop after a failed NK of the cop, etc etc.  And yet nobody wanted to lynch peace because "oh, scum wouldn't act so incredibly scummy!"  Bah.

In darthes chess game I played scummy for most of the game so I wouldn't get NKed.

It's a balance that you have to get to stay alive but not get lynched.

People who do this generally aren't mafia and do it cos they have a role to claim and save themselves with (Peace has a role btw. He could of fake claimed out of that)

  yes. People weren't paying enough attention to get what you were doing and make it worth while. Your possible reasons are pretty much destroyed at this point IMO

Second, what are the possible benefits and detractions in your mind for this claim?

Thirdly, which two other players do you most disagree with on this matter?

  Basel and TG. They are being deliberately dense. Csarmi is a close third though

Please point out my other contradictions. Where does your scum read come from exactly? That you think my opinion wouldn't change if someone fake claiming vanilla claimed another role is telling of your own ideas. To your bolded - I do NOT have a vote on him. He has kickstarted the game to what value? Anyone could have started the game flowing why would that make them more town? Your scum reads are pretty damn null.

 

Hmm I thought you had a vote against him by now; my mistake. I have a scum read on you because you were pushing for a Darthe lynch, without placing a vote on him. You also forgot about the possiblity of Darthe having a town PR and fake claiming vanilla, and then you went on that if he has a PR he would reveal it before he gets lynched anyway (which I find to be bad logic). You also mentioned that Darthe has done nothing so far for Town (which I disagree with), so next to his Vanilla claim he would be the safest lynch option for today.

You asked what the case was on csarmi, and then after reading Kronos' case on him you voted against him. When I mentioned that the last three votes on him almost had no reason behind them I was thinking more about Dap's and Ishy's votes. I do find it interesting though that you are backing off from the Tiink train, claiming that it is picking up steam too fast, and then vote csarmi who is now the second biggest train.
