Now granted it's his idea of my town meta so maybe he just didn't care but I would have thought he'd at least make a small note of it

Anytime I've done something similar (in his eyes) he's always mentioned it before

In an environment with players that react only to face value, neither strategy would matter much. The best strategy would have been to brush you off and shoot you tonight. 

 

Why would I drive you to reveal, especially when you are telegraphing a tell-drop, and then put a bullseye on myself? Now the meta of your power tell is out in the open, and you very well could be shot tonight, which puts a bullseye on me anyway, or at least fixes me into a wifom. So thanks for that. It only took you a page or two to set stupidity in motion. Good job.
