I like 'One Day More', Rey; it's one of the most complicated songs you'll find in a musical in some ways.

I particularly like Cabaret (the song, not the entire show - schmexy dissonances in the version sung in the show). There are lots of good songs in Jesus Christ Superstar: 'Heaven on their Minds' (edgy ostinato) and 'Everything's Alright' (5/4 time baby!) being my particular favourites. I like the overtures to Cats and the Phantom of the Opera, but things go a bit downhill from there in both musicals.

A very good one is 'Reviewing the Situation' from Oliver!, as well.

Sweeney Todd!!! Yes!!

I love My Friends and Pirelli's ooh, and A Little Priest   and I also love the Ballad of Sweeney Todd which didn't make it into the film.

I am sadly addicted to CATS, it was one of my childhood things, I know all of them by name and have several theories on all of their relationships. I agree the music isn't spectacular, but you can't get past the concept, the costuming and the choreography. Also, Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer is awesome.   :) And anything that Munkustrap sings because he's my favourite character.  (The silver and black tabby that is the male leader that isn't the big fluffy dude: The Awesome Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles is his song)

Ooh, Cabaret, haven't seen it yet, but I know virtually all of the songs. I like Cabaret as well, I also like I Don't Care Much. And various others, but those are my favourites.

Jesus Christ Superstar...yeah, I love that one as well. Went to see it one and a half times.  XD  Got bought tickets for me and a friend for my birthday last year, so we went to see it, but in the Blood Money scene where Judas is getting beaten up, the actor actually broke his leg, so they stopped the performance and we all got free tickets to see an extra performance they put on to make up for it.

I also missed out on seeing Jesus Christ Superstar earlier (with two of my favourite amateur actors playing Judas and Jesus) because of the QLD floods.   :/

Anyway, songwise, I love Everything's Alright (damn right 5/4!!   XD) and Heaven On My Mind also, rather a lot, but my favourites have to be Gethsemane and Last Supper. What's the Buzz is also pretty cool.

Ok, my older tastes:

Anchors Aweigh: The Worry Song (Gene Kelly dancing with a cartoon), I Fall In Love Too Easily (really young Frank Sinatra being all croony and adorable) and We Hate To Leave. I Begged Her is cool too.

On The Town: On The Town. I will re-enact that song when I get on top of the Empire State. New York New York, Modern Man, Come Back To My Place and You're Awful.   Out of all of them, You're Awful has to be my favourite. It's a love song between Frank Sinatra and Betty Garrett. Clever lyricists.  :)

Take Me Out To The Ballgame: O'Brien to Ryan to Goldberg. Hands down. Boys and Girls Like You And Me and She's The Right Girl For Me. Also worth a listen.

Guys and Dolls: Oldest Established, Adelaide's Lament, Luck Be A Lady, Sue Me. Not really a fan of the Marlon Brando plot songs, but I do love hearing Marlon Brando sing and grinning.

Too many songs BB!! Shut up!

My guilty pleasures as far as musicals are:

Singin' in the rain (as said before

I love Calamity Jane, I could watch that one forever.

Evita is also a top favourite of mine I say it years back in Southampton, and thought it was brilliant.

I'm a big fan of Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly ( I used to dance when I was young so Gene Kelly was my hero), So I'm with Bard on On the Town, but I do enjoy Young at Heart (Frank and Doris).
