Cadsuane New Spring

I have a question and I did a search but didn't find the answer.  If it is out there and I did not find it then I apologize up front.

In New Spring, Moraine was convinced that Cadsuane is a Darkfriend.  My question is, has there been any definite proof to the contrary?

Things I know:

She wasn't on Verin's list.

Verin elected not to poison her as a result of their conversation.

I certainly hope she is not and I wonder if Moraine still thinks she is a DF.

There is a good deal of evidence against Cads being a DF an ill touch on two of them. First off it would be nearly impossible given her pov chapters and inner thoughts on her mission to help Rand/the world for the LB. Second we know her most bitter failure was being on the verge of rooting out/destroying the BA and coming up just short.

I agree it would be difficult for her to be a DF based on her POVs and I know that nothing I read made me think of it until New Spring.  It got me kind of nervous because I have been surprised before.  Specifically, with Verin being a DF and Moraine having a crush on Thom.

It will be cool to see a reunion between Moraine and Cadsuane.

In any event, thank you.

She never says what made her stop rooting out the BA. Just as she gets to the point her focus changes to wondering what Moiraine was doing in the borderlands at that time. She was aware of "that vileness" right after the Aiel war.

She also wonders about Nyneave telling the truth and holding the oath rod.

Cadsuane is definitely not black. She's my favorite Aes Sedai in the whole story. To me, she is what an Aes Sedai should be and not what they have become.

Here is one of the quotes...

WH Ch. 13

"I hope you will continue to watch them all closely," Cadsuane said. "Especially these last four." She was sure they would keep that ridiculous oath, if not always in ways the boy would like, but there was always the possibility that one or two might be Black Ajah. Once she had thought herself on the point of rooting out the Black only to watch her quarry slip through her fingers like smoke, her bitterest failure except possibly for failing to learn what Caraline Damodred's cousin had been up to in the Borderlands until the knowledge was years too late to do any good. Now, even the Black Ajah seemed a diversion from what was truly important.

''Caraline Damondred's cousin'' - lol. she REALLY didn't like our Moir, did she??

Is it weird that Moiraine Damodred and Cadsuane are two of my favorite characters and they are so diametrically opposed??

Honestly, I wouldn't actually be that surprised at all. If you break them down, they really aren't that different. They have many of the same drives and personality traits, though they may present themselves in different ways. The biggest difference being age and when in the story line they were forced into a position of having to interact with Rand and the leeway that allowed them.

Edited to add: I don't think it's coincidence one is introduced when she is considering the timing of events and what has transpired. It makes sense and they follow a similar (if admittedly not identical) path to enlightenment and personality expression when it comes to Rand.
