I secretly/not so secretly live vicariously in Granada, Spain

I almost always have to take notes while reading any type of book. I once told myself I would never do this while reading a WoT book....but a Mat comment stood out to me and I just had to had to had to highlight (in my Kindle of course....I try avoid marking up actual books if at all possible).

I love to exercise and workout, especially to at home DVD workout programs through Beachbody (I'm one of their coaches on there)

Oh, and I'm the oldest child of three

And...my dad and little brother just became TKD 1st degree black belts!

I'm a bowler...and currently not doing well :-(

Is it physical, or perhaps you're distracted when you're playing?

Yesterday it was a combination if being distracted and I was finding it hard to read the oil pattern on the lanes. My ball is very touchy about stuff like that.

Oiling the lanes? Is this a common practice??  I've only been bowling a few times but remember nothing of that...

Congrats to them! That's a lot of hard work.

And you sound like quite the athlete yourself!

I have to travel 6kms to get to the mailbox and send away Christmas cards, usually on horseback :D

...and have ordered a Santa hat to put on my horse >.<

XD

SO AWESOME!!

You are so lucky, Nyan. Wish I could just pack things up, get on my horse and travel wherever I would like to, with only nature around me.

Antarctica (Antarctic peninsula and islands - never crossed the Antarctic circle tho)

N. America (USA several times and Canada)

S. America (Argentina, but not for very long)

Europe (UK (duh!), Ireland, France, Germany, Poland, Netherlands (not just Schipol), Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, Malta, uh...)

Africa (Libya, Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau - although most of these were fairly short port-calls and not very site-seeing like)

Asia, (Hong Kong (kind of), Indonesia)

Oceania, (Australia - although I really, really want to go to NZ)

Yeah, they've had lots of fun going through all of it together. My Brother just turned 13 this past September and my dad just turned 43 this past summer and they've literally gone through all of the ranks together and were presented their black belts at the same time.

And I did run a half marathon in October

My mom and sister are working on becoming athletic!

Wow, very well traveled.  You have me beat.  I have yet to go to Africa (was supposed to go to Tunisia in Jan but trip was cancelled for security concerns) or to Australia/Oceania

Advantages of working offshore - end up with loads of time in lieu and extended holidays. S.America is unfortunately only technically, a couple of days either side of the Antarctic trip (hence why OP said stepped on as opposed to visited or travelled - one day I'll get to visit properly :) Asia, Africa and half of Europe are due to portcalls, although some were extended, so I got to see more than just the inside of the nearest bar.

When did you go to Antarctica?

I've come to the conclusion that their is never enough time when travelling... I had the best part of 3 months in Canada and didn't make it east of Calgary, although my main interest is walking, so when I found the Rockly Mountains I pretty much got stuck :)

so you like walking, but not hiking?

Just finished reading "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson. Really funny travelogue about hiking the Appalachian Trail. Confirmed in my mind once and for all that my fantasies of doing ANY long distance hiking are just that - fantasies. I'm just not an outdoorsy kinda gal.

I haven't completely given up the idea of long distance cycling, though. Just so long as there aren't any killer hills involved...
