I have no idea what's going on anymore. But 9 is a nice number, and it has some significance in the Garth Nix book I just read.

Oh and my score is 100...minus the 5 I just destroyed by fulfilling this task makes it 95, but then since I just posted my score again it goes down to 90, and then to 85, 80, 75....

 

Hehe, I had to try. Before completing any tasks, my score is 100 (-5)

I RP task 5:

 

After a plan to destroy his village had formed in Darki'n's head, he went to his Tainty Opel, and drove out of his village. A thick smoke came from the car's exhaust pipe: it was Taint in gas form. As Darki'n drove and people went insane of his Taint gas behind him, Darki'n looked at his Taint Navigator. It showed all Taint in the world. There was lots of black dots in the navigator, showing everyone using tainted saidin. But there was also one red dot, moving in the Blight. It was different Taint, different evil. It was Padan Fain, or Mordeth, or whoever that creature was. He was the one Darki'n was searching. To get to Blight faster, Darki'n stopped next to Dragonmount and filled the tank with extra filthy, 200% Taint. It was more effective than his 90% filthy Taint Fuel. Then, with the Super Taint Fuel, he dashed straight to the Blight, where Fain was. A line of white fog trailed the madman. Darki'n took a cuendillar box, and caught a bit Mashadar in it. He closed the box, and Fain screamed: "No! A thief! Don't take my Mashadar!" When Fain jumped with his dagger, Darki'n turned and drove off, leaving Fain in a big Taint cloud screaming: "Thief! Thief!" When he returned to his village, Darki'n set the Mashadar free, and watched it destroy the village with the same evil that had destroyed Aridhol.

DAY 2

 

Jani sits in the mud, staring into the distance with unfocused eyes, watching as the rain falls. It has been raining for days.

 

“Everything just looks..soggy. Nothing like a REAL rainforest. This is taking too long,” she thought.

 

AUNT MAJELLIN comes out of her house and tentatively approaches.

 

MAJELLIN

Jani? What are you doing? You’ll catch your death! Sitting out in the wet like that. Come on inside, now. I made some lovely mushroom soup. Just the thing to warm you up.

 

JANI

Wait...what? Oh, Auntie, thank you. I’m not hungry.

She turns back to looking at the horizon.

 

What’s missing?

 

MAJELLIN

Now Jani, I really must insist! I don’t know what you think you’re up to.

 

JANI

Wouldn’t it be grand if Bleutopia could actually be in a rainforest, instead of ... whatever this is.

 

MAJELLIN

A suburban nightmare?

 

JANI

It’s just not quite right. It’s missing something.

 

MAJELLIN

You never said as you was unhappy before. What brought this about?

 

JANI

I don’t know. I just suddenly wished this was a rain forest. It’s too dry here.

 

MAJELLIN

You’re sitting in three inches of water.

 

JANI

Well, NOW, yes. But before it was just, just parched.

 

MAJELLIN

Girl, you listen to me. Why I put up with this kind of behavior I don’t know. Why, when I was a your age, ...

 

Jani opened herself to the One Power and wove delicate flows of Spirit and Air. Her aunt continued to talk, but all her annoying quacking was contained within twelve inches of her body.

Smiling, she admired her handiwork, and then turned back to contemplating the storm.

 

JANI (to herself)

Is that thunder, or my stomach? May I should go inside and have some of that soup. Mushroom, mmmm.

 

Mushrooms. That’s it! We need more fungus!

 

She sent her mind questing, probing with delicate flows of Spirit, trying to sense the essence of all the life forms about her. There was so much to see, if you could but focus, she was sure.

 

Suddenly, she found herself experiencing a new kind of awareness. She could feel the worms in the earth, the moss on nearby trees, the sprouts of new grass, ready to burst through to the light, every leaf on every shrub, packed with water. She could see auras on everything.

 

That small mushroom, in a pocket of shade. It looked healthy, but maybe it could be more? Weaving whisps of Fire and Air, she coaxed the mushroom to speed up its metabolism.

 

The mushroom exploded.

 

Wiping flecks of fungus off her face, she selected another mushroom. It was a little battered by the explosion of its brother, but basically in good shape. Weaving the faintest flows of Spirit, with a little Fire, the mushroom seemed to spring to attention. Its skin swelled as if to bursting. And then it started to grow. Slowly, so slowly. It WAS growing. It was.

 

MAJELLIN throws up her hands in disgust, and storms back in into her house.

 

JANI sits back down in the mud.

RP FOR TASK 5 (CONTINUED)

 

DAY 3

 

Day has dawned. The clouds are gone. Jani sits in the mud and surveys the landscape with satisfaction. The trees are swollen with new growth. Tattered scraps of moss have turned into lacy curtains, filtering the sunlight. Mushrooms decorate the grounds, some as tall as a man, others only as big as footstools. Strong vines are climbing over everything in sight.

 

PIER and AUNT MAJELLIN approach. MAJELLIN gesticulates, but she is still silent.

 

PIER

Um, Jani?

 

JANI

Pier! Why aren’t you in school?

 

PIER

It’s ... Summer?

 

JANI

Oh, right.

 

PIER

I thought, maybe, you’d like some porridge? I made it meself.

 

 

JANI

Where?

 

PIER

Inside, of course! Come on in out of the rain. There’s ... THINGS starting to, uh, GROW on you.

 

JANI looks at her coat and flicks off bits of vegetation.

 

It’s nothing. I’ll be in in a bit.

 

PIER and MAJELLIN look at each other, then flank Jani, each grabbing one of her arms.

 

JANI

What the.. stop that! Let go of me!

 

Jani weaves flows of Air and pushes them away from her. They stagger back.

 

JANI

Leave me alone!

 

THEY creep away, back into the house.

 

Light! Just when I was starting to make some progress here. Okay! Focus.

 

Hmm. This is better, but it’s still too slow. The sun is out, the ground is warm. I know: Fertilizer!

 

Jani delves with flows of Earth to find Metal. Slender skeletons of pipes beneath every house begin to vibrate, then groan, and finally burst, creating streams of sewage.

 

Screaming people, some wet, others covered in filth, stagger out of their homes, goggling at the giant mushrooms.

JANI

Hello Marwin! Hello Pella! Nice day, what?

 

(Marwin and Pella just gape at Jani before running past her.)

 

Some of the homes are tilting from the pressure of trees and shrubs that have doubled in size since yesterday. Others are sagging due to the increased weight of moss on their roofs. Some of the outbuildings have collapsed, strangled into submission by creepers and vines.

One method of destruction for each Element!

 

 

To destroy some of my houses, I will send really tiny weaves of Compulsion to make the members of each family suddenly think that there's treasure hidden in their walls. They will tear apart their own houses!

 

Others I'll convince that their houses are infested with termites and will fall any second, while secretly picking at the main support beams with flows of Air. Then, just as they exit the house for the last time, I'll make the thing collapse.

 

Some people, I'll use Water to create huge sinkholes under their houses, then explain to them that I just found out about the sinkhole and advise them to leave. Then, when they leave, I'll sink the house into the ground.

 

For other houses, I'll weave flows of Fire so that every time they light a fire, it gets really big for a quick second. Then I'll tell them they have natural gasses leaking into their houses from below and that they are accidentally lighting those gasses. When they evacuate, I'll burn the house to the ground.

 

Then, I'll use small weaves of Earth to send tiny shocks into houses so that the glass shatters and stuff. When they freak out and think their houses are haunted, they'll leave and I can shake the houses apart with more Earth.

Ithillian introduces the Game of Mafia into her Village and watches as the Townsfolk begin accusing each other. The paranoia increases, with doors locked at night and murders in the Dark. Lynch mobs roam the streets during the Day. And each Death ends in fire as the remaining villagers destroy and then burn their victim's house. Ithillian watches the evil grow, drinks her tea and smiles.
