I've come to this thread sort of late, but here are my thoughts on various things that have been brought up -

Talking off the QT - I always clarify now, but before I thought it was a given, yes, in my games, mafia can talk off the QT with each other. In the old days (before me even), players didn't even use QTs, so I've always thought of QTs as just a convenient place for the mafia to talk, but I see no reason why they have to talk there. The arguments I've heard are that the mod needs to know what's going on. I don't see why, and I don't typically keep up with the QTs anyway, in games I mod.

Mass reveals - people reveal too much in general these days. In the "old days" you did not reveal unless you absolutely had to, and if you did without a really good reason, it was super suspicious. To me, mass reveals takes some of the fun out of the games.

More seriousness - totally agree. People take things way too seriously now. It's kind of hard to explain, but the games used to be more lighthearted and fun. That doesn't mean people didn't play well or anyway, but it's like everyone is way more aggressive now and just...I don't know. I don't like it.

Verb mentioned big game hunting - I think this is done way too much now. I wish people would choose their kills/lynches more by what's going on in the game than how long a player has been playing. It really discourages you from playing mafia when you keep getting killed early on just because you've been playing for a while.

Thanks to everyone who posted some old games, they're fun to read through and reference :D

And hey, I think I saw Rey somewhere there!
