Breaking Bad Season 5 [Spoiler Zone: Read At Your Own Risk!]

Walt killed Gus just as much as he killed the two dudes in the lab that he shot.

A court of law would not agree

He was a co conspirator I believe but I don't think he could be convicted of actual murder for Gus's death

Then again I don't know all that much about criminal law so maybe he can!

I don't know if this season is better, but I'm definitely enjoying this season more than the earlier ones. I've always liked the series, but at times I've found it hard to stay interested.

He probably could be convicted of murder. I'm no expert on American criminal law, but I think this would fall within the doctrine of common purpose. Walt and Salamanca both intended to kill Gus. Walt provided the bomb, which was an essential contribution, because Salamanca couldn't have killed Gus without it.

Sure but it's not murder that SKYLER knows about and that's kind of my point

If she doesn't know by now that Walt has killed at least one person than she's an idiot, which I don't think that she is. To be perfectly honest I think she handled the situation well for a long time, but is now approaching her breaking point. I also think that what happened to Beneke was just as big a factor in pushing her to the edge as anything. She had been holding firm until that scene where Beneke looked at her in horror and swore he wouldn't talk.

He would be found guilty of 1st degree murder (pre meditated) for killing of Gus and his henchman as a co-conspirator, easily. Jesse could probably be convicted as well since he was the one that told Walt where he could trap Gus. Though that would be hard to prove since Walt probably wouldn't rat on Jesse.

I beg to differ

Skyler is one of the most hypocritical and stupid characters I've ever seen

Her reasoning for doing things just boggles my mind and I have to imagine the writers are purposely making her character do these things just to troll the audience

She had been holding firm until that scene where Beneke looked at her in horror and swore he wouldn't talk.

That was 99% her fault

I'll give Walt the 1% for introducing her to Saul and getting those people mixed into what happened but still everything that happened with Beneke was on Skyler not Walt

Maybe in the past he wouldn't have but I think Walt is in it for himself now

Pretending for a second they all got caught red handed I think Walt would sell out Jesse in a heartbeat if he thought it would benefit himself somehow

Her reason for doing what she has done this season is because she fears for he children, who despite Walt's claims of safety, have legitimately been in danger. Gus would have had no problem giving the order to have them killed, and even threatened to do so at one point. How is that mind boggling?

I agree. I think she's come to hate herself as much as she hates Walt. And when you hate yourself and the person you're married to it's a recipe for disaster.

Maybe I'm just a more relaxed person

Or because I'm part of the audience/not a parent/etc that makes me more relaxed

I just don't think I'd be as close to mental breakdown as Skyler is based on what she knows and/or thinks she knows

My wife just about had a breakdown just thinking about our son dying (he fell down the stairs once).

Like I said that's real life vs watching a show

I admit it's not the same and that could be playing into my being more relaxed

Or maybe it's a parent thing

I dunno I'm just trying to say I don't get it and it feels overplayed to me

Hey btw /r/Breakingbad on reddit has had a bunch of AMA's with people from the show in case anyone was interested in such things

I could link them here if someone wants

People that have done AMA's: Gus, Skinny Pete, Badger, Saul, Combo, both Salamanca twins, and Victor will be doing one soon

well i've officially skipped seasons 3 & 4 for now i lue of watching these episodes. porr bubba has been atchign episodes here nad there with me, i'm tryign to talk him into renting the 1st 4 season though lol i think i'm close to talking him into it

Skylars breakdown was set up from Season 2 imo when she found out that she couldn't escape and divorce him. the control over her life was gone; the more she realized how in deep Walt is, the more her break is building. between the guitl she feels for old boy in the hospital, to Walt being gunned down in the hospital, to knowing he's capable of killing now and finally knowing hes back in the cooking business (all of which she's voiced her abrupt disapproval over the past 2 episodes) her recation is more than proper imo.

adn Nol, i 100% disagree with you on this. she's knows the danger to her kids is 100% real, she even said so last night. about not wanting the kids to be home for the eventual reality of someone comming to their house to to harm Walt. also, she knew about the hit Gus put out on Walt as well, as she expressed concern over that happening again last episode.

i think Skylar is going to end up telling Hank and Hank is gonna take down Walt; Skylars at the breaking point, witht he threat of Walt institutionalizing her over her head, if he brings the kids home that will be the straw for her imo that, or if she finds out about the dead kid from this episode (yes not Walts fault, but that Walt "let" it happen will be all the Skyler likely hears). right now shes basically stuggling to gain some order and control back into her life, and right now the kids are the only control and leverage she feels she has.

the train hiest was briliant, though i had hoped that Jessie would have slugged Walt for drawing it out like that; i knwo i would have once i learned Walt knew they were getting back on that trian. Todd was giving me a bad vibe, even though this is he first episode i had seen him in; now i know why. 100% uncalled for imo, hell they didn't know how much that kid saw or if he comprohended what he was seeing; and it was a KID. all they had to do was move the tanks quickly and fill it in and his story wouldnt have been believed. i didn't liek this part of the episode.

also, Walt is playing a dangerous game and is getting too cocky. i mena seriously ... bugging his brother inlaws office?! are you that stupid!!!
