Hang the Fool - Green Ajah FoF 2012

Recommended Posts

All are correct, save the "I" and the "T"

For that I am sorry, my dear Brandie.

Wildfire Sedai receives an ornately filigreed bronze lantern, Leala gets a shiny silver candlestick with a long taper in it, and the Sword Captain of Fools gets a torch made of copper and decorated like a steampunk airship.

Thank you Arez al'Loke,

I hope that your compliment wasn't a joke.

Which was the picture of me you did see?

The one that I posted for the gallery?

If so, I thank you and no, it's not forward,

It's very kind of you - I'm flattered, not awkward.

I'm sorry to say that the phrase has no "K"

But I hope that you will keep on guessing away...

By the way - your name, how is it spoke?

Is it "Loke" like Loki or rhymes it with "bloke"?

Well done Wildfire, thou art correct!

(Finally someone other than Turin it guessed)

The dragon eggs were invented by Aludra

Shot from a cannon, much damage to do - a

Weapon of terror, forsooth for the Light's army,

Inveigled by Lord Martim Cauthon, the smarmy.

Again, well done Wildfire for being right in posts double

But I think you should get into a 'lil bit of trouble

For not giving others a chance here

Before you post twice in a minute, my dear.

So as punishment, I will "gift" you this cream pie

And tarlet of custard, right in the face and eye...

Now, time it is now, for the last of our phrases.

I've enjoyed this immensely, and sing of your praises

For jesting and rhyming with consummate skill

Indeed I hope next year repeat this I will.

With great ceremony, Athena channels Fire and Air to create the last phrase of the day.

It was not a joke, I'm not such a bloke.

And indeed my name Loke, rhymes with Cloke.

It was as you guessed, the picture from the gallery I confessed.

Oh well. I'm terrible at hang the fool, so I'll just grab my robe and leave my stool!

Thank you for the game Elusive ^^!

Yes, it was the mad Dragon Kinslayer

Lews Therin, whose ravings Rand learned to decipher.

It surely will come as no great surprise

To learn Fool of Fools Turin has won the first prize.

Turin, you have been an absolute ace

At this game, and I hereby award you first place.

I also bestow upon you this crown

And even more valuable, the renown.

I would have a siggy to gift you, in addition

But sadly, my talents lie not in manipulation

Of images with the "Photoshop" wand,

But you have my permission to have one commissioned

Using the title you have fairly won:

That of "Supreme Hang the Fool Champion".

Here are the final scores:

Ithillian 18

Elgee 7

Ledinna Sedai 1

Arez Al'Loke 3

Crimson Ayla

Eternal Phoenix 7

Brandie 5

Razen 5

Poetstorm 1

Misheru 1

Keyholder 3

Wildfire Sedai 15

Turin Turambar 30

Amyrlin of Fools 3

Sword Captain of Fools 4

Leala Gymorraine 7

Athena somersaults off the swinging seat, taking gifts for everyone with her and channelling Air to neatly wrap up seat and bring it down so the chandelier now is pristine and clean.

Placing her bag of gifts on the floor, she lifts the crown of rooster feathers from her head and places it on Turin's. She also bestows upon him the sceptre of Fools. She then reaches into her bag and gives a gift to every single participant.

To Ithillian, a cape made of blue butterflies' wings. The butterflies, of course, died of natural causes after a long and happy life (which is for a butterfly a few months).

To Elgee, an elegant set of fountain pens and quills made from peacock feathers, with an ink-pot made of two dragons coiling around each-other, made of bronze.

To Ledinna, a scarf with autumn leaves embroidered over it with silken thread.

To Arez al'Loke, a quiver in the shape of a panda.

To Crimson Ayla, a sack of chocolate chips.

To Eternal Phoenix, a pair of warrior' sandals with wings on the heels.

To Brandie, a woolen muff in the shape of a lamb.

To Razen, a silver ceremonial dagger, with an ornate belt worked with leaves.

To poetstorm a potted bonsai cherry blossom tree.

To Misheru a set of jewelled hair clips.

To keyholder, a beautiful leather-bound tome to write her thoughts in.

To Wildfire Sedai, a bracelet of little golden dragon-eggs.

To the Amyrlin of Fools, a necklace of silver stars.

To the Sword Captain of Fools, a pair of sea-serpent-skin gloves.

To Leala Gymorraine, a mantle of midnight blue gauze, embroidered over with comets, stars and galaxies, all in gold and silver thread.

To the rest of you now I will bid thee farewell,

For my Foolish persona must disappear as well

As my rhyming and jesting must fade and seem dead

Til you see me again in my Riddle Thread.

(A hint that was - make sure that you peer

T'ward the WT board - a new thread will appear

In a short while, and I hope that you'll come

And grace it with your presence, as you have in this one.)

Thank you all for participating dears, it was fun!

Athena makes a final bow to everyone, then capers out of the Hall, scattering rose-petals and blowing kisses to everyone.
