Key nice reaction. its good to see when a poke and prod gets you immediately on the defensive. i like my vote right where it is.

What reaction? Answering your questions? Apparently the lot of you think I'm crazy mad over this game lol. I don't know how that happened, but that's not the case.

Sorry for all the posts - my work computer is being funky and taking forever to load DM so I'm posting one at a time so I don't lose anything.

@pale - I can't speak to what my predecessor did. He played his way, I can't control that. So condemning me off the bat because he might have pinged seems scummy.

Key I'm not ignoring you and will address your posts when I get to my computer... May be tomorrow...

I'll be back after teaching my class this morning with results of my reread (I know you're all dying to know ).

You know that we are always dying to hear your words of wisdom Em.

2. I don't like the sudden Cosmic votes. It was obvious Cosmic was using a figure of speech there--to be 100% certain that someone is scum means that you're pretty confident someone is scum.

Pretty sure we just disagree on this, but anytime ANYONE says a matter of fact statement like that in mafia, it’s going to be taken that they know something the rest of us don’t. I think it’s interesting that you’re immediately jumping to his defense over this. I’ve quoted mind below because I think his explanation over this is a good one.

Cosmic Panda said he's not cop. I understand why he would say this. Cop or not, he claims to be 100% sure of Aemon Kristen. In the game of mafia, the only thing you can be 100% sure of is your own alignment, unless you are a cop and even then you have to deal with Godfathers, Bus drivers, etc. For Cosmic Panda to stake his role in the game, he had to have been pretty sure about Aemon Kristen but went about it in a way that didn't fully explain on Day 1 why he was 100% sure. I get it.

Red, if I said that I am 100% sure you are scum without any reason, would you not ask why?

Blah.. Not fun with randoms.. Srry Razen, I don't really find the arguments to lynch you "Convincing" But the deadline is comming

Vote Razen

Fence-sitting. This coupled with his defense of me on the first day leans me toward thinking he’s scum that wants to buddy up to people he knows are going to flip town.

vote Razen

Let's get the majority. Still, this whole Cosmic Panda / Aemon Kristen thing needs looking into.

VOTE: RAZEN

brb with the quotes i got.

Both Red and myself are voting to hammer the lynch, saving us from a random non-voter.

Please take a moment and review this case. What are your thoughts?

Why is Mynd sticking up for red right here? It’s not necessary as she was not even remotely being discussed for that.

@Mynd:

Looking at it two ways. Reviewing, I'm also looking at Arez with squinty eyes. The timing of his vote to avoid being randomed is fair but also suspicious. You make a good point at his "pre-knowledge" of Razen's alignment. Only mafia knows it all and this could have been a slip.

Looking at it the other way, both you and Red would know what I mentioned before about not being on Razen's lynch would be safe to kill a remaining non-voter townie. As you've mentioned many times, you unvoted Razen. But wait! What if one of the non-voters is mafia and not around? Then piling on Razen and hammering, while not an optimal solution, saves the chance of a teammate being killed, plus you can brush it off as avoiding the randomness.

So... no conclusions yet. Just observations.

That actually does make sense as well. I know I'm not mafia, which is about as convincing to everyone else as Casey Anthony's testimony. I'm pretty sure Red is on the up and up based on her play so far. Still, it stands to reason that the mafia bum-rushed the vote because they knew Razen would flip town. Perhaps we could look at the non-voters? I'm trying to narrow down our list of suspects for the next two phases, we can always look back at others.

I think I'm with you on Cosmic Panda being the lyncher.

Bolded – again with making Red look good, why? Especially from Mynd who normally chooses to attack people rather than defend.

As far as the rest of what he says, I think that’s wrong. In my experience, unless a scum team is near the end of the game and *know* they are going to win, you don’t vote together and you certainly don’t rush a lynch – that’s only going to draw attention. I prefer fading into the background when I’m scum.

Anyway, I didn't want anyone random to die as that kinda makes the game boring.. So I did the only thing possible to stop a random lynch, and that was voting on someone to get lynched. I was pretty sure Razen was a Townie, but as I said, I had no other choice to prevent a random lynch, unless I've got something wrong?

Is this not the exact opposite of the below statement?

AH is a town, I don't care if we get a random..

Vote: Cosmic

Vote: Sakaea

It's the only strong feeling I have. Rolefished like mad when I said I thought Aemon was scum, and has been otherwise active-lurking - always there but not actually saying much.

Key's vote for me is a bit stupid. Why should I have known that you lot would take my "100% certain he's scum" as anything other than a figure of speech, especially after I explained it as such? Moreover, why should pressuring me after the entire affair lead to anything useful? Perhaps she's trying to squeeze more role information out of me.*

AH's town, guys. Like, srsly. Also, the mafia's hiding Mynd's flip indicates that he was obviously town. BG's 221 redeems him a bit in my eyes.

So you thought Aemon was 100% scum, but Sakaea is the only strong feeling you have?

I think I’ve explained how I feel about the particular “100%” statement. Interesting jump to me rolefishing you. I’m not the first person to question that statement, so why am I the first person you ask this about? Furthermore, you already stated you weren’t the cop so what would I be looking for? I know there’s not another investigative role.

i'm going to do a re-read on monday and will post my thoughts then. i do think that we're dealing with an experienced team and that the NK and Janitor choices weren't big game hunting.

also i'm glad we got the lyncher. it will be interesting to see if AH pushed anyones lynch hard or cased anyone. so we know that Mynd wasn't the lyncher. my guess is that Mynd was either a roled townie or the vanilla goon. if my hunch is correct about this being an experienced team and my how much Mynd was pinging me as well, my bet is on a gambit tbh.

Underlined – Funny because in the case where you vote for me, you state that you think I’m scum because Mynd was and it was an elaborate fake with him and me Night 0. Now you think he’s possibly a roled townie. If you think that, then you have no case on me.

At the time, I was rather sure that AH was town. Why would I want to lynch someone I thought was town? If I voted her, it would be a 100% certainty she would get lynched. That means a 100% chance a , what I thought was townie, would die. A random lynch would atleast give me a 20% to get a scum. Sure, I might die aswell, but I thought it would have been a fair price to pay in hopes of getting a mafia.

You changed your mind on this from one day to the next (see above) and that’s what’s scummy.

Additionally, yes, it gives you a 20% chance of scum….but it also gives you a HIGHER percentage that it would be bad for the town (aka DOC or COP). I am going to refrain from talking about this anymore because apparently this group does not think the same as I do.

Also, the mafia win by lynching townies. Sure, scum-Arez could've been trying to pull some epic convoluted strategy to try and win town cred with a hypothetically townie AH (since nobody else would know her alignment, they wouldn't be able to know whether he was being townie or not, and would've probably thought him quite scummy), but I don't think so.

Why don’t you? Mafia CONSTANTLY do this. Every single game I’ve ever been in.

Here it seems she is trying to lead the town into looking at the more inexperienced players because Mynd got killed. By building up Mynd as a source of conflict that an experienced scum team would like to have around, she effectively disregards a lot of very dangerous players in this game. Such as Red, who is basing many of her theories on Mynd flipping scum, which can be neither proved nor disproved. Key is a good choice for today.

You’re calling me out for that Aemon, yet you completely ignored/disregarded Red doing virtually the same thing. Noted.

i'm going to do a re-read on monday and will post my thoughts then. i do think that we're dealing with an experienced team and that the NK and Janitor choices weren't big game hunting.

Key, yes I have read you're and ishy's posts. I was looking more for a reaction than anything else. And I have to say key your reaction is off the charts defending yourself against a case that I think anyone would see as weak. Makes me even more confident in my vote for you.

On top of that it seems that your in scatter shot mode throwing anything and everything out there against everyone and anyone in an attempt to divert away from yourself.

...I posted that I was going to do a reread and post my thoughts, so I did.

As if "throwing anything and everything out there against everyone and anyone" would actually divert attention away from myself. That generally only serves to draw it in.

So you admit the case against Key is weak, yet you're still voting for her? What's up with that Broseph?

You guys keep acting like me defending Cosmic means I'm 100% scum and it kind of makes me want to cry. I've hinted as hard as I can, you know.

Vote: Arez because yes, I've been reading, I just don't know what else to say that other users haven't already said and you guys don't want to lose me if we end up going random and I'm the only one not voting~

A figure of speech is a figure of speech, and there are always exceptions to everything. Cosmic was merely sure of himself.

I'm not taking back what I've said.

My reason for voting her now is because of her over reaction to said weak case. I probably would have removed it if not for said strong over reaction.
