Behind you, a man bellows in rage and you turn to see him cast aside a robot that had tried to abduct him. The man goes after the automaton in a rage, but the machine is faster and scuttles away before it is caught.

This is the scene from N2, about the conversion. It doesn't sound like a jailkeeping to me. It does actually sound more like something that a mirror role would do.

You know, I am torn on the Ape, because some of what he says makes no sense, and other stuff makes perfect sense...one thing that I am okay with is NotBob shooting Ishy, personally. It would be nice to have a better idea of where the Arsonist stands. Of course, the Arsonist himself would be a great shot, too, but since I have a theory that it might possibly be a town role this game.... *shrugs* I'm really down with either.

I think I've got this figured out.

Read my post about about roleblocking Wombat. Consider that if NotBob doesn't shoot wombat right now, NotBob is converted. Consider that if Wombat flips converter, then Ishmael is scum too.

Wombat is the key to all of what I've been going on about.

12 players left. 2 original scum. 2 automatons. 8-4. If Ishy is successful in getting me lynched right now, then it goes to 7-4. Then night phase, another conversion and 2 more NKs. 5-5. Scum wins.

Ishy is making it obvious he is scum right now, because this is very likely an endgame play.

LYNCH WOMBAT

The only time there was no conversion was when Amega roleblocked him!!!!

If the best thing for us to do is kill the converter, then this is the best play we can make. Sorry it took me most of tonight to get here, I sometimes post while my gears are turning piecing things together.

Lynch Wombat, NK Ishy. Puts town right back in this.

Kill me then. Ape, Meesh, and Chrissy are three of our anti-town roles, without doubt. We have to have more than that, just due to Wes's flavor posts, but these three are givens. Wait and see if I'm killed today or not, there's obviously 87 killing roles in this game.

And of course you'd be OK with mine or Wom's death today Chrissy. As a matter of fact, I wish you'd kill me. I dare you. You and your scum buddies. Then everyone will know who to take out. I have no idea about Wom at all, but I've claimed Firefighter for DAYS now. Take me out and everyone will know who to come after. And for those of you wondering whether Firefighter is a town role, then you're schmucks. Complete schmucks.

Ape and Christine at the very least aren't on our side. Ninja is a town-role, so it seems, but Meesh hasn't been acting very townie so far.

We need to get rid of Ape and Chrissy, and if her act doesn't start coming together, Meesh certainly hasn't helped us at all. Make a decision and let's go with it. Meesh killed a DOC for God's sake. Holster if you aren't sure. Just because you can kill doesn't mean you should. You killed a doc. Wow.

So go to sleep. Easy.

Dude--it was NIGHT 1. We had NO LYNCH. Songstress was the leading vote-getter that day. How the heck was I supposed to know she was a doc? I thought, gee, great information-gaining move, since we didn't have a lynch today and it would have been Songstress if the day had run full-time.

Stop acting like I'm an idiot. You're lucky I haven't killed you--I wanted to, more often than you know. It's just the uncertainty about the whole Arsonist deal that's kept me from it.

Then kill me. Do it. Grow a pair.

I'm not going to over-interpret flavor Meesh. There haven't been any "abductions" in the game have there? I dunno. I know amega jailed him, and there wasn't a conversion. Those are facts. Flavor is all subjective.

I've done what I can to lead you guys to my best case, based on taking over a role and then not being around to totally leverage it. I've given 2 reasons why Wombat is a smart lynch / kill in this day phase. I haven't been 100% into this game, but I tried to bail us out at the end here.

I've got nothing else to be honest.

@Ape--you assume the second NK would be a town death. If you flip town, who's to say I wouldn't shoot correctly tonight based on your suspicions?

And with 2 town deaths and a conversion it would be more like 4-5, not 5-5, although that's just me being obnoxious and correcting your math.

@Ishy--I can't, it's day time. :rolleyes:

If you were a town role and I was scum, you WOULD be dead already, because the arsonist would probably be scum in that case, and it'd be nice to put you down quickly so you couldn't find the arsonist. How come you're not dead, if you're town?

Okay, I have one more reason to kill Wombat first. This guy.

NO WAY does Ishmael come out so obviously as scum to prevent a Wombat lynch, if Wombat isn't the converter. Think about it.

This bravado is Ishma inviting us to kill him, to keep his converter alive. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Final Day 1 Vote Count:

Song ( 1 ) - Tina

Des ( 4 ) - Wombat, Crusher, Nolder, Mawthtex

Nolder ( 1 ) - Kae

Songstress ( 6 ) - Verb, Leelou, Razen, Lily, aemon, Ithi

JLM ( 1 ) - Sensei

Verb ( 1 ) - Meesh

Womby ( 1 ) - JLM

Maw ( 4 ) - Des, Song, Songstress, Key

Lily ( 1 ) - ameg

The thing I keep coming back to is the final vote count for Day 1. It would be unlikely that there would be no mafia on any of the three trains that were building on Day 1 and it would be equally foolish to believe that all of the mafia that had cast a vote would be on one train rather than spread out. On the Des train I am suspicious of both Wombat and Nolder. Wombat because he came out of the gate swinging at Des, which pinged me at the time, and Nolder for trying to lay the set up a lynch on Wombat if Des flipped town on Day 2. On the Songstress lynch I am most suspicious of Verbal for calling Songstress's vote on Hoof a hidden vote on an easy lynch (or something to that effect). It strikes me as playing to the fact that Hoof has a tendency to get killed quickly in order to gain some sympathy and gain him at least one more day in the game before he manages to get himself killed. If one flips scum, it would not surprise me if the other does, also. On the Maw train, I still have a gut feeling about Key. However, everyone else that was in my well-thought-out-yet-ultimately-useless case on Day 1 has been killed and flipped town, so I'm not going to pursue that one right now. Because I'd like to hear more from Nolder and because I just plain don't trust him...

VOTE VERBAL

A scream comes from above you, and you look to see a body falling from the sky...it is flailing its arms and legs...the scream gets louder as the body gets closer and you can see that it is a man now...the sound of his scream is pure agony and terror...you unconsciously step back, unable to take your eyes from the the spectacle...

WHOOMP

The body lay still across the sidewalk. It is disfigured form the fall, but you can still make out the face of aemon.

AEMON, TOWN CPR DOC, HAS BEEN KILLED.

You shudder, the full gravity of what just happened slowly falls over you.

Meanwhile, across town...

Another automaton sparks to life as its retinal dialator shrinks to focus. It stands, its purpose feeding into the mechanism that it uses as a brain. It takes its first stride forward...and a blade flashes, neatly separating its head from its mechanical body. The blade is sheathed before the head hits the ground. By the time the body falls forward, the shadow that wields the blade is long gone.

HOOF, TOWN WATCHER CONVERTED TO MAFIA AUTOMATON, IS DEAD.

Back at the station...

"He was a good man!"

No one could deny it. Aemon was well liked and was beginning to make sense out of the confusion. Maybe a little too much sense.

The din has quited, but then another man curses, flailing at a hooded figure racing away.

"Damned fool! What are you about?!" He calls after the figure, but cannot catch them. He is sodden in what smells like turpentine.

"Stay away from your pipe tonight, lad - you don't want to drop your match!"

Since you asked...I took this as an abduction. But they'd have to abduct someone to turn them into an automaton anyway, wouldn't they? Otherwise there'd be 2 of the same person running around.

A burlap sack is thrown over the head of a citizen. They struggle briefly, but robotic strength quickly overpowers that of mortal man, leaving no question as to the outcome of the contest.

The master will be pleased.

Yeah, whatever - you are still focusing on the wrong part of what I'm saying.

Good luck. I'm out.

Can't wait to see that you are in fact town.

Pfft, I'm not focusing on the wrong part--just not posting about it because I'm watching what other people say. I think it's interesting. I'm not sure if I believe you or not. I noticed Wombat was listed in the case by Aemon that Wombat just posted....so there's that....

Right now I want to see what else happens before deciding. I'm very indecisive on a good day.

What is my Anti-Town role, then?

You are trying to take the attention off of Wombat. Makes me think more and more he is Original Scum.

Dude, Ishy, you can't be a jerk and expect people to lick your feet and sing your praises. It doesn't work that way.

At this point, I'm not liking Wombat, Ishy, or Ape. I could vote any of the above, and I will vote one of them once I see a vote count.

Posted

This could easily be scum tactics.

Ape throws Wombat under the bus, Ishy defends him, then Ape rides to end game.

or, Wombat and Ishy are getting trained by Ape.

BUT, I thought that Wombat was scum BEFORE this eruption.

I don't care if you like me or not. Not a popularity contest m'love. And I'm not being a jerk, I'm dropping knowledge on the masses. I wouldn't expect scum to like what I'm saying.

Posted

I feel like I did hit on a good point about Ishy--if he's a town firefighter, why isn't he dead? Unless the Arsonist AND firefighter are town, it seems a lot like Ishy's either original scum or an automaton.

Either they are both town, or Ishy is Scum.

There is no way that the Arsonist would be Scum and Ishy not be dead.

Or, here's an interesting thought....

Via Songstress:

I would be very wary of lynching Ishy today. He wants it too bad. If he is the arsonist instead of the firefighter as he claimed, there may be some sort of crazy additional feature that ignites all his targets if he's lynched. Not that I've seen anything that indicates this is possible, but this is the mad pirate we're talking about here.
