I wanted to make this same point, but Kae beat me to the punch. I'm not feeling the Ape train, Thorum would be one I'll fall back on should DL creep up on us, but it was an easy decision for me to reach on Des. C'mon, he voted for Nol in the same post where he was quoting Nol's coroner report. Skim much?

Vote Des.

You do know I replaced someone else and had to read through 50 pages of jargon, right?

Unvote

Vote Despo

Reason should be obvious.

Yeah, you're a Lannister and you're trying to save your family's hides. It was obvious even before you waited for enough support to finally vote for me

Let's see what else... nothing distinct that I remember being asked of me or anything (except for that I replaced Cosmic), but I will comment on the whole cult issue. Everyone is still thinking in regular mafia mode, where town is on one side, mafia on another, and cult somewhere in between. In this case, yes, cult is a bigger threat. However, this game is nothing like that. There were more than likely a semi-large group of unaligned survivors (prob in the 6-8 range or so), and they weren't there simply to be recruited by the cult. We should all operate on the assumption that every faction has some kind of ability to recruit. They prob can't recruit as easily as cult, but still.

And given that we know for a fact that there's multiple recruiting roles out there, it's very easy to see that more than likely faction leaders prob have an ability to protect one of their own members from being recruited. In other words, cult really isn't anywhere near as big of a threat this game. The only threat are those not in your faction, period. If you're unaligned, there's really no reason to fear anyone more than anyone else. I'd say scum is Lannister, and that's a pretty easy assumption to make, so if you want you can focus on getting rid of cult and Lannisters, but you could end up being recruited by Lannisters in the end so there's no telling.

Either way, shift out of the town/mafia/cult mindset and get a grip on what's really going on here.

I'd really, really like to know where you get these assumptions.

All we know for sure is that 1) There is a cult in this game, and 2) The Night's Watch faction did have a recruiter, which Wombat explained the mechanics of earlier.

These assumptions are a little off the wall from what we know, unless you are either a faction recruiter or have a protection ability yourself.

I already explained in my previous post, but to simplify: other faction games I've been in had every faction able to recruit and kill, and we know once a faction leader dies that faction's survivors become unaligned (therefore making them able to be recruited by another faction.

I suspect that if there aren't rules against factions recruiting each other, than there pretty much has to be some recruitment/conversion blocking type abilities out there.

And no, I'm not a faction recruiter and I don't protect against conversion

I'm also surprised more aren't up for a Ape lynch.

1. He defended Nolder pretty hardcore ("strong town read")

2. He's trying everything he can to clear the Lannister name

3. He's trying to do everything he can think of to discredit his attackers (criticizing me for not doing full rereads when he admits to skimming himself)

4. He's filled up close to three days worth of pages with petty arguments with others that make going back and rereading that much harder

6. He seems to have connections or links with other players in the game (whether it's peeps coming out and agreeing with him, parroting his statements, or defending him or attacking those that attack him) which tells us he's probably in a faction with a QT

7. Someone with the name like John McClane shouldn't need a nickname, especially one as dumb as Ape

8. He told me in a JN PM that he likes punching babies and putting puppies in blenders

Just because it randomly occurred to me.... I will ask.

1. Crap

2. No, i'm not

3. I always do, it's called defending - rather easy too when everything you are saying is wrong

4. I'm the most active player in the game, people have tried to case me each day - so they are petty arguments, they are defenses of crappy cases. If you want me to post less, then stop redundantly posting the same case about me over and over. You seem desperate.

5. You apparently can't count.

6. Really? Connections with other players? Because Vic said I was playing like I had no allegiance to anyone which is why he thought I made sense as cult. So... yeah.

7. Ape nickname was given to me, not chosen. It came long before John McClane. I'm awesome enough to carry multiple identifiers though... don't worry, dipshithera.

8. I love babies and puppies, its all I tell my girl I want. I would never do these things. However, elves on the other hand... totally different ball game.

Why are we still guessing who Christine is? It said in the opening scene that character reveals were okay no? She can't vote, and can't be killed... why hasn't she told us her character exactly?

*shrug*

Maybe it's fun for her to make people guess a while longer.

I mean, she's a tree stump. How much fun can that really be?

I probably wouldn't have bothered, except that it occurred to me that Hodor would make a really excellent tree stump.

LOL! Honestly, Hodor would have been a good tree stump, but nope. And not Theon either.

Why haven't I told y'all? Because I already stated that my house has no talk. Or at least, I am not included in it. Therefore, y'all will realize that my House most likely does not have a kill, and you will all probably start trying to kill it off, if you can. I would prefer to at least give my group a fighting chance.

What's funny is you could possibly be in my House. And I don't know.

I'm at post 1080. WIll read the rest later.

Seeing Levity's already got a few votes, I'm gonna go for another inactive who I guess is American: perfexionist

If we were trying to get inactives back in play and/or lynch them, WHY would you choose a different inactive to vote for?

Because the point is to get them back in play, by letting them risk being lynched. Adding my vote would not significantly have increased the impact on Levity's inactivity, while it did on perfexionist's (he posted a couple of times after my vote on him)

I'm tempted to put christine's claim to the test.

However, John's reaction to my and paperclips vote makes my vote stick to him. It's only a game.

Again, why not take the opportunity to essentially prove her claim/save us from talking about it for the rest of the game?

I think this is the post between Christine claiming tree stump, and Wombat showing the vote count. At which point we could only wait. Because I had to leave, and knew I wouldn't be able to get online quickly, I made this post.

And finally:

Ape

For reasons explained the previous day, but mostly for editting.

Is it Day One? No? Then get a move on with the real reason, or a real vote please. Until then, Vote Thorum.

Make the sum of the reasons you quoted: I don't like his playing style. Like at all. I don't have time to read through pages of spam to filter the 1 or 2 interesting posts (which are never made by him)

You know what's kind of funny? I suspect we'll see a lot of quick bandwagon votes in this game, since all those in factions have no problem axeing someone they think isn't in their faction. And yet, I wonder how many times it will end up that someone helps lynch their faction teammate unknowingly

I can see how we have a differing interpretation of what Paper was getting at. It could go either way. But Razen and Trench are two completely different cases. Razen says he doesn't see any reason to believe that the factions are not able to communicate. That is a pretty clear sign that he can communicate. I find it odd that you would dismiss this by saying you "have a pretty strong hunch about what faction he is". It's like saying the evidence doesn't matter because intuition trumps all. Here is the original Razen quote.

Why is everyone assuming all factions are united? I have seen nothing to imply that.

I've seen nothing to prove that they are not united, although I do admit that it would be interesting to find out whether that it is true one way or the other. The fact that you bring this up leads me to believe that you might not have a faction. Or that if you do, you don't know who they are. And that means either you are unaligned or something more sinister.

Trench clearly says that he believes it is too convenient for Christine to claim being on a faction that does not know its members. How did you get that he was saying the timing stinks. Check out the bolded section of the quote. It's pretty clear he didn't believe that there were factions that could not communicate and that she she was part of one.

Alright. You know what. Here is a reveal.

I am in a faction, and I have no idea who else is in it.

This post stinks. I dont buy this reveal at all. Its way to convenient to claim you do not know your Teammates, but are on a faction. Right after discussion of, if all factions are aware of each other. I want to see what you are hiding, by making this flimsy reveal. Vote Christine.

As for lynching inactivity, I dont know if I am ready to head down that road yet, I would rather give the Mod time to replace them if they cant stay active.

Finally I get why you dont like the logic of that post. I was pushing the timing of the post. That's why did not believe her, it was to convinient to make that reveal when she did IMO. I was a little unclear, but it was the timing of the reveal that made me not buy it, not the reveal itself.

I wish more people were active in general. I think a large part of why the past 2 day phases have been rife with cases against the Ape, is because I'm the only one putting enough chatter out there for people to latch onto and convince themselves they see stuff that isn't there.

Christine, oh stump-ish one, are you Shai? Or another character of a whore-ish persuasion?

Not even close, my dear.

I am surprised there is not more support for an Ape lynch.

Clearly he's being defended. Im just as surprised.

Plus this talk of why the leap is made to Lannister being scum? Difference between scums is they can communicate off thread and town cannot. Now I know mason group, cult group but scum teams usually start bigger than those two type of teams. Nolder hinted to being aware of his team able to communicate off thread and flipped Lannister so it's a fair assumption. People are acting like we saw hoof prints and guessed unicorn. Well I guess here that's not far fetched but please accept my point.

This nonsense about MOST teams not being able to recruit is either crap or I'm suffering from being clueless about the source material. The only connection I have to SOIAF is the game of Doggins I play and adoration for the lovely Song who plays at JN. In Doggins game people could join factions and factions had bank to buy stuff.

So let's kill the ape and see if he flips Lannister. Then kill everyone who defended him. Easy. People are making this way more complicated then it needs to be.

Right now, I like my vote on Thorum.

I could change to Razen for his comments about factions making it seem that he can talk to his faction.

Anyone else have anything to add? Every time this guy posts, its heaping pile of setup conjecture and theoretical assumptions that he can't and won't substantiate.

If you were doing half the reading you claim to be doing, you'd have known it was Vic suggesting I was cult, then again suggesting Thorum was cult. You'd have also realized that you are voting me, but then agreeing with the case I was making at teh time about Vic.

You may have also noticed the whole bit about Night Watch having a different win condition, and having a recruiter. You aren't playing the game based on the facts we have. You are playing it by filling in all the cracks between the facts, and nothing you are saying is vetted by fact, logic or reason. You are just making shit up and trying to convince people they should accept what is marginal probability, as fact.

Those of us that are in the know call that SWAGGER. Despo, who Ive nichnamed Dynamic D, has it. My only wish after this game is he will come play at JN.

I'll give you that you have been more active, and that unfortunately in DM mafia activity = soon to be lynched, but I don't really know if that's what's happening here. Seems like people aren't really looking for scum necessarily, they're looking for either more members of their faction, or rival faction leaders to kill. Maybe some other factions assume you're someone of import because you have been so active.

Incidentally, you kinda fall prey to the same thing at times, I've noticed. We all probably do on some level. People have short attention spans; you give them someone new to start heaping FOS's on and they'll soon forget the person they were previously pressuring.

I think it's the combination of a pretty good sized scum team aka Lannisters and then a few of the survivor type that are playing both sides of the fences afraid to commit. Me? I'm ready to kill monkies Lannister hide, gut him, eat the meat and make a sweater of out his fue for Leelou.
