Good article from the 13th on the main character parallels in Arthurian lore.

http://13depository.blogspot.com/2002/03/matter-of-britain-and-wheel-of-time_14.html

Egwene is clearly Guinevere parallel. As the article points out, and as Egwene her self has dreamed, she'll need to be rescued at least once more (the Seanchan woman).

This implies that she'll live.

I believe the OP is incorrect to associate Bela with Egwene. As one poster noted, Bela is Siuan's mount now. Perhaps this is the scene where Gareth must save her again? Or perhaps a Siuan/Moiraine (and Thom/Byrne) reunion scene, perhaps with Eggy and Gawyn as well?

I hope that Egwene gets turned to the shadow by force (the ol 13x 13 trick) and then gets killed by Rand. preferably he could take a wizz on her grave afterwards, i think that would be a suitable end for Egwene for most readers.

I would then hunt down BS and put an end to fans hopes of another Stormlight book. :baalzamon:

Egwene need some glue to repair some of the damages to the Tower. ...Enter Bela...

LOL.

Bela is the glue that holds the series together. Off-hand I can't think of a single book where she doesn't get at least a mention. Even Mat missed one whole book because he was doing nothing but waiting for his broken leg to heal.

I haven't searched past CoT(10) yet, but Bela does not appear at all in WH(9). I must admit I was a bit shocked at not finding her in one of the books.

I do think Brandon's "shivers" are directly related to Bela in some way. I thought she was special from the very first.

My first sense of this was in tEotW, chapter 11. The Road to Taren Ferry: "You were right about your Bela, Rand," Moraine said from where she stood by the mare. "She has a good heart, and as much stubbornness as the rest of you Two Rivers folks. Strange as it seems, she may be the least weary of all."

Not so sure anyone connected to Bela will die (besides Rand, of course). I think (hope) Bela will end up doing or being something shivery! I dread the possiblility that the old girl's death may be the catalyst for something else. --although, I did find the glue thing quite humorous...

Bela was the least weary because Rand had unconsciously used the One Power to restore some of her stamina. This is generally believed to be the first time Rand channels, the need coming from his fear of Egwene being left behind.
