I'm in the same time zone as Amega so it's no big deal for me, but for everyone else:

9:00 Central Time is in 4.5 hours. That's our deadline.

I still like my pandy vote right now, but I can switch to key in order to get a lynch. I still don't like his eagerness to stay with key for no reason and his "well this is a no coroner game so we can't get any info" We get it. But to belittle actual scumhunting, which he isn't even doing, doesn't sit right with me.

I don't mind if my logic is flawed, I am sticking with my vote still... Don't take it personally Key ^-^

I'd suggest trying to come up with with better logic. Gut feeling is okay, but we all like to see things backed up with quotes.

Hmmm... I rather capriciously jumped on the Key train just before, and now I'm thinking about it. What are we trying to achieve through such pressuring? She's hardly going to crack and confess that she's mafia. That happens occasionally but not often. If we took it to its likely conclusion, we'd force a claim out of her at L-1, see if anybody counterclaimed, and judge from that whether or not to lynch her. And since it's not a coroner game, we wouldn't even find out what she really was unless the coroner decides to share. (Coroners can also be killed. This is why I hate no-coroner games.)

But I don't have a better idea.

Basically right here you are admitting that you were "wrong" to jump on the key train so fast and it would result to nothing really.

Posted

Cuz you admit that it's wrong to do what you did, yet you did it and still are doing it because you don't feel like doing anything else. That is in no way helpful or protown. At all.

I didn't say it's wrong. Refer to my second post: "I also agree with pressuring people when I play mafia. Being totally nice all the time doesn't get us anywhere."

If you have a better idea, do tell. I do think that there's at least one scum sniffing around me right now - perhaps Key is mafia after all? Song, what do you think of McClane?

Meesha, I'm keen to see your thoughts after re-reading the game.

Well then you were contradicting yourself, because you also said pressuring key wasn't going to get us anywhere, look at the quote I quoted like two posts before this one.

Right now I'm agreeing with most everything John is saying. He may be scum or not, but he has good points and his attempt to add substance and dialogue to the game is seeming protown to me right now.

Okay, after a reread, I'm going to take back what I said about there being better choices than Key. However, I still don't like the reasons given so far, which are "big game hunting" and "deflecting attention from herself." Those are crap reasons.

No, I think Key is pretty suspect based on how eagerly she jumped on the first competing train to crop up after the Nolder fiasco started. And how she kept trying to deflect attention from Nol and onto other targets. I just don't like that.

She's my top choice for scum at the moment.

vote Key

Can you explain how I was deflecting attention from Nolder please?

I think this vote is pretty scummy, Meesh. You don't like the reasons for the vote on me, but you vote for me anyway. That seems like you could be distancing for when I flip town.

I didn't capitalize on the first train. I thought ishy trying to push that those 4 people were scum was scummy, and voted for him. After your post saying he wasn't the dr., I voted for nolder.

Not to mention competing trains are not a bad thing, so I don't understand what is scummy about wanting to pressure more people. Seems like you and Wombat are pushing the same agenda. I hope you two are looked at if I get killed today.

Furthermore, we don't know the result of nolder's death so even if I was deflecting, how do you know it was a bad thing? Sounds like you might know something we don't.

This whole post strengthens my conviction, honestly.

To your first point--I don't like the reasons EVERYONE ELSE is voting for you, since you can't be bothered to accurately represent what I said. If I hadn't reread, I would have stuck with thinking there were better options than you, because EVERYONE ELSE is voting you for "big game hunting" and "deflecting attention to other people" which are crap reasons, as I said. That's not why I'm voting for you, and you darn well know that since you're defending against the things I'm saying just fine. The reread was what brought my attention to you, not everyone else--as Day 1 was actually going on, I was more concerned with Nol's false claim, less with everything else, so my memory was understandably compromised. A reread allowed me to see Day 1 in a fresh light.

To your second point--I honestly didn't take Ishy seriously. It looked like he was having fun throwing crap around and stirring things up even more, so to speak. I haven't made a judgment either way on his motives, but still, I didn't take it seriously. Also, voting Nol after my post doesn't mean anything, FYI.

Third point--competing trains aren't a bad thing, no. I wasn't voting you because I don't like competing trains, so it's funny that you felt the need to bring this up, it's a bit of a reach.

Last point--This point and what you said in your second point contradict each other. If the idea that I might know something you don't is JUST NOW occurring to you, then why on earth would it have mattered to you that I said Nol wasn't the doc in the first place?

You sound somewhat desperate here, Key.

Also, with this latest vote change, and because deadline is in 2 hours, I am willing to give up on Key for the moment and change to Pandy to avoid a random lynch. I just don't see enough people getting online before then to make keeping my vote on Key helpful.

Vote Pandy

Well, yes, it does. Since I thought you were hinting that he wasn't the doc.since you are. Thus my changing to.vote for him. So that matters.

As I explained in MY post, I thought he was having fun at first but then He himself says that he was serious about it

Third, not a reach since you are talking about me jumping on a train to deflect from nolder and convenience. That wasn't why ad I explained and for pressure, why wouldn't I choose to vote for the person with the next amoubt of votes?

Lastly, no, they don't contradict, nice twisting of my words. Your post against me made me consider that you are scum instead of the doc, which would change what knowledge you have. The more someone posts, the more opportunities to change how you think of them so yes, my idea of your role can change.

I personally don't see the desperation.

Posted

I think "flailing" would be a more accurate term for what I meant, rather than desperation.

Again, it doesn't matter because scum or town, what other viable options did you have in that case? As scum, continuing to fight for a lynch elsewhere than Nolder after I let everyone know he was lying would have looked really bad. As town, his claim was wreck enough that to keep defending him when it was obvious he was lying would have been silly. Thus, the only real option you would have either way would have been to vote for Nolder. Thus, the fact that you did says nothing to me about your alignment.

Re: Ishy and opposing trains--first you say you think he was legit scummy, then you say you just wanted to pressure someone else and picked whoever had the next highest amount of votes. Which was it? (to the legit scummy thing, that would be really clumsy scum play, honestly, for him to be seriously pushing a scum team theory on Day 1--either he was just joking around or he was trying to get lynched--jester, maybe?)

Last bit, I'm not really sure how else I could have read what you were saying--I wasn't twisting, that's how I read it.

"Furthermore, we don't know the result of nolder's death so even if I was deflecting, how do you know it was a bad thing? Sounds like you might know something we don't."

Look at it from my point of view, if you would--you're right, I don't know what his alignment was, or his role. I *do* know he was lying about his doc claim, and I can't see any justification for a townie to do that, so the only conclusion I can come to is that he was scum or at the very least not town. That should be pretty obvious and logical an assumption for me to make.

Your statement didn't make sense to me when you made it and I'm still not getting it. If I'm town, and Nol was lying, then it makes no sense for you to suddenly call into question something that should be pretty obvious by now--that I know Nol was lying. Even if you don't believe me, the only other thing I can see that you might have meant is that somehow I already know Nol's alignment and role, and even then I can't see how that would be a bad thing in this case--we have other confirmation now that Nol wasn't the doc aside from just my word. Basically, I don't get where you're coming from and what you meant.

Posted

Maybe I'm simple and just don't get it, but I still haven't figured out how you knew he wasn't the Doc on D1 Meesh.

So you aren't going to vote?

I will, but voting for the person I would really like to would be useless at this point. I don't see any other option than Boopsy now, but he hasn't pinged me anywhere near as much as a certain someone else has.

Panda.

Meesh, I said both. Scummy and competing trains, coincided. Don't see the problem.

I don't get the confusion about the last part either. As far as hom lying, townies can lie just as well as scum can. I've seen it in plenty of games. Perhaps protecting a role that was better for town to have and scum not to know about, I don't know. But that's not what I was referring to. I was referring more to the suggestion that you were both scum and it was potentially a decision for one to go down so the other could stay around and look innocent.

Not sure why my phone posted that without the rest.

The rest: because you seem very sure that I'm scummy for what you think is deflecting attention from nolder.

Posted

I don't really have anything to say, just letting you all know I am alive (in case there was any confusion) I just haven't felt like my contribution was needed for a while. I must say I am surprised at how quickly the votes went up for panda, quite a turn around!

Posted

im surprised as well- things usually dont change that fast around here. im happy though :D

and one other thing..... i realised something. something that makes me feel very foolish indeed.

meesh, are you claiming doctor, or outside knowledge of some kind that means you know who is or isnt the doctor?

Posted

nvm....That was the hammer!

no scene tonight: PANDA has been lynched.

I'm just getting caught up here. Please provide a final vote count, they are integral to game play and should be provided by the mod.

My trip was awesome, but I was drinking with co-workers damn near every night. So apologies for being quiet, you guys would be shell-shocked by my drunk posts...

Blackhoof's reveal seems legit, as nobody has countered it. I'm curious about this budding dialogue between him and meesh. There's a few people we need more explanation from, but not in night phase.
