Thanks Verb.

Did anyone notice how the writing style change for the scenes as the recorder the 4 scum characters were speaking into changed possession? I tried to make it subtle, but distinct also. I really wanted to challenge myself from a writing standpoint to write all the scenes from the POV of one scum team member, to put a ton of clues in the scenes, and then to NOT give away how many scum members were left. Notice when Verbal was the last scum and I started writing scenes as though he was speaking into the recorder, I never had him say "I" or "we" or anything that could indicate how many players were left on the scum team.

Also, the weapons were all tipped off in the early scenes... purposefully, so that the town if they chose to look at the scene details could have figured out that when the bat was dropped and picked up, that the NK ability moved from one player to another... and things like that.

Anyway, I had fun with it - hope you all enjoyed it. It was my first endeavor into coming up with my own material... I thought this crowd would appreciate it. :)

Sorry Verb, no offense meant. I was referring to post 28 in the QT:

How is he vetted?

He said he was "mutated baboon" and it could have been a bluff, or could have been legit. He still has a ton of votes on him, so my decision not to MK him hasn't vetted him as far as I can see.

Simply put, I want people voting for a lynch - not lawyerin' for a MK. I think everyone can see that. I also don't think its entirely obvious to everyone that mutated beasts are town yet... if it becomes obvious and the decision not to MK him turns out to screw your team in some way vetting him, I'll make it up to you. You guys will find an object of some sort that helps you out. Cool?

For now, I don't want to second guess my ruling.

I also think that you guys could be playing this differently if you really want him gone.

Anyone heard from Kivam yet?

I am one of those real hands off mod types, I guess.

I appreciate where you are coming from. In my defense, the statement "you guys could be playing this differently" is no different than saying "stop arguing with me and play the game" in this circumstance. As far as me suggesting offering them an object, that was me satiating them for the moment and crossing my fingers that they would forget I said it later... calculated gamble to move on with the game. I was very frustrated with the fact nobody was voting for a lynch and lawyerin' for a modkill. Very.

Anyway, I still don't see this as coaching... so much as trying to push the game forward, when the players were all stuck on something trivial.

Fair enough. Modkilling isn't cool. You might be able to get around that by equating a modkill to a lynch, so that a modkill affects a game the same way that a lynch does.

Agree. MK'ing sucks... but I don't see how it could ever be equated to a lynch. Lynch trains are the most viable record of maneuvering in mafia, and if a player is modkilled for making an extra reveal - it screws the town out of being able to re-reference voting patterns. Essentially, modkills only favor the scum team - unless of course it is a scum member being MKed.

Basically, I don't think there is any way that a MK doesn't screw up balance to some degree or another.

Sure, but if the town wants to modkill, you can let them modkill - and then have the game move to night. This way there's no incentive to modkill instead of lynch.

Another rule I've seen is that mods will treat the modkill in the worst possible way for the team involved - so a townie modkill might cause the town to go to night, while a scum modkill might see the game remain in day.

I knew this was coming from you - and I was already prepared to address it: as you can see in the scenes, the night action of NK has moved. Kivam "dropped his bat" or something, and somebody else picked it up. Knowing that the NK was able to move, and confirmed via BG being town that there exists a RB, it is certainly plausible that the RB can move as well.

In other words, it might simply be the scum who send in the action are the ones "doing the deed" or whatever. It makes logical sense, and explains why you didn't perform an action that night.

One last thing. You have no idea how much I was frothing at the mouth when you said this Verb. And nobody else thought it was weird. I could tell you were at the bottom of the bucket for explanations. Seriously, a moving RB?

That was planned - it was my way of addressing the RB and Hybrid being viewed as not moving. I needed an explanation, and this one fit into the truthful explanation of the NK moving. I mean, if one does, why not the other? ;-)

how did you know i was the doc anyway?

did i drop subconscious hints or something? O.o

Actually, he saw it by looking at Louii and your posts of the first three days, then taking the first letter of each post, and when he put them together, he get "I am the Doc" three times.

Some players leave hints at their role based on their reactions to scenes, coroner reports, and other players. A player that knows what to look for will identify that and use it.

You left hints - I identified them, and used them. So the answer is yes - you dropped hints without realizing it. ;-)

I'll post the biggest one. There were others, but...you know...trade secrets. ;-)

hmmmm the doc should have protected him... :\

he was presumably our last finder and would have been invaluable come end game.

Huge Doc tell. HUGE. Especially considering it was the first somebody brought up the subject. I was positive at this point. I had the feeling before (hence why I RBed him), but this confirmed it 100% for me.
